This secluded island is only a short ferry boat ride away from Hilton Head. The only bright lights you’ll see here are the brilliant sunrises and breathtaking sunsets.
Our Daufuskie staff will meet you at the Ferry Boat dock in Freeport Marina and provide free transportation for guests and luggage to the Sandy Lane Villas. We will assist you with your luggage and guide you through the villa, answering any questions that you may have. Our staff will also be on call during your stay. To further assist you, we can arrange to have groceries purchased and stocked in advance of your arrival and, if needed, replenished during your stay. We also provide a golf cart for your use.
You’ll play on sparkling beaches, and walk among live oaks dripping with Spanish moss. Daufuskie is the perfect vacation spot for families or couples. Romance will be rekindled by the natural beauty and ample solitude of this magical island. The carefree laughter of children and adults will allow families to rediscover what is important to them. The unique island charm will bring a smile to your face as you remember a simpler, less complicated time. And to make new memories, all you have to do is relax and allow yourself to be seduced by soft ocean breezes and moonlight on the moss.
If you want to explore and learn more about Daufuskie during your stay, we offer a number of different activities at very reasonable prices. These include various tours to explore both the history of the Island and the natural wonders that exist there. We also offer group kayaking, which is a great way to take in the pristine beauty of the island. If ghosts are your thing you are in the right place. Daufuskie has a number of old graveyards and haunting spots. Our special guide will be glad to take you to several of these areas and narrate spooky ghost stories that you will long remember. There is also family fishing and crabbing off of the Freeport dock. Dolphin cruises and off-shore fishing are offered as well. If you are a golfer look no further than the Melrose golf course, one of the best you will ever play. We will be glad to arrange tee times for you.
If you don't feel like cooking or going out for dinner, we can arrange to have an authentic Daufuskie meal prepared and delivered to your villa. Ms. Ernestine is well known on Daufuskie for her deviled crab and fried chicken. Her food is fantastic.
Our direct oceanfront Sandy Lane Villa is situated in a beautifully landscaped complex of three bedroom, three bathroom units with an ocean front pool and wooden walkway to the beach. The Penthouse unit offers spectacular views of the ocean. The unit is designer decorated and has three bedrooms. The two master suites have king beds and the third bedroom has two twins. Each bedroom also has its own bath and TV. The huge living and dining area has great windows and a wrap-around balcony overlooking a private beach. You have a front row seat for the brilliant Daufuskie sunrises, and a perfect place to watch the dolphins play while you relax and enjoy the cool ocean breezes. There is a large screen TV and queen sleeper in the living room of the units. The Dining area seats 8.
The fully equipped kitchen includes a granite breakfast bar and top of the line appliances. Laundry room is conveniently located off the kitchen. Gas grills are provided poolside for residents use, along with tables for lunch or dinner by the pool. A full sized elevator makes the unit handicap accessible. Local telephone calls are free.

We loved the island and the condo. The on island contact was fabulous! She assisted us with everything and called multiple times during the week to confirm that our vacation was everything we hoped for. Can't wait to get back to this condo in 2013!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

If you want to escape from the busy vacations and hustle and bustle of everyday life, this is it! The owner is very insightful of what the place is about and he has someone on the island to help you with whatever you need. The people are very friendly. This was a very relaxing and QUIET vacation. My four kids (ages 13 down to 1 1/2) are anxious to return and we just left. Perfect place to vacation with kids. Not many people at the pool or on the beach. The accommodations were very nice and homey. The rooms are not small at all. Usually rooms are like a box with everything squeezed in. The closets are massive. This may sound bad but our closet was so big the baby got to sleep in it as her own bedroom with her pack and play (of course with doors open) but she slept in everyday because it was away from all windows and the noise of my other kids. I highly recommend this place to everyone!!!Recommended for: People with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.
