Cape May apartment description
Conveniently located in the very heart of Cape May's Primary Historic District, this first floor apartment is only a 5 minute walk to the beach, and just steps to grocery shopping and a half block to the pedestrian shopping mall.
The apartment is comprised of two connecting parts. There is a king-size bedroom and bath, with its' own exterior entrance, connected by an interior door to a suite which has two exterior entrances. The suite is comprised of a king-size sleeping area, living area with a queen-size sleep sofa, kitchen and a bath and a half.
The kitchen has a standard refrigerator, 4 burner cooktop and a microwave oven (no standard oven) as well as a dish washer and washer and dryer. There is some seating at a built-in counter for 3 comfortably, 4 tight.

has potential but....
This property is nice and pretty good location but unfortunately it was extremely dirty. We immediately went and purchased our own cleaning supplies. We spent a total of 12 hours cleaning the unit upon arrival. Thankfully it was pouring raining when we arrived or we would have been very upset. It looks as though the unit has not been rented or cleaned in awhile. Everything we touched had a black coating on it and smelled very mildewed. There were also little black hairs everywhere for some reason. It's unfortunate that we can't give this a higher rating because it is a very cute rental. The only other negative thing besides the dirt is that there is no real kitchen table to sit at. 6 of us had to sit around the living room coffee table to eat. It would be great if there was an area to sit outside in the backyard at least.

Owner response: This review is wrong. My first email inquiry was, "Can we get a deal". I responded with a quote and Lisa called and asked to book it and asked to check in a little earlier than the 4 PM listed. I said there should be no problem and would give her parking even if the apartment was not ready. There were other emails asking for linens, which I agreed to at no additional cost. The family arrived at 10 AM and I was still cleaning in the apartment. I apologized for not being ready for them, saying my vacuum cleaner had been giving me problems and I was going slower than usual. They said not to worry, although they were not pleasant about it. I asked that they come to the shop with a credit card for payment, and left. Lisa came to the shop and when I wrote the bill she said I had quoted $50 less over the phone. I referred her to the email quote but she insisted she distinctly heard the lower price over the phone. She was so nasty I gave her the $50 discount. I handed her two boxes of kleenex explaining I had not had time to finish in the apartment. She declined them and asked for directions to a store. A while later she called, said there were not enough sheets for all the beds , so I said I would get some more out of storage. I gave them to a young man saying they had been in storage and if necessary to run them through the washer and dryer in the apartment. He asked me to come in and then he and his mother said the apartment was filthy and they wanted a discount for wasting their vacation time. I told them it was not filthy but if they were unhappy they could check out with a refund; that I had already given one discount and below a certain amount it was better not to rent at all. Lisa's eyes got as big as saucers and she grabbed me and asked to stay. I received an email at 1:50 saying the apartment was completely cleaned - that is not 12 hours ! Days later they asked to stay and shower beyond 10 AM check out. I agreed to let them use the smaller section of the apartment. They then asked to use the refrigerator at the other section, I pointed out they could use the smaller refrigerator, and parking. When they left at 2:45 every towel and wash cloth and bath mat was in the bottom of the shower, soaked. Every blanket had been unfolded and stuffed back. Now it really was dirty, not even broom swept. I could not have been more accommodating, and did not charge them for my extra cleaning. They got a good deal.
