In the early 1900s the Rockefeller family purchased plots of land in the northwest region of the municipality of Dorado where they built a huge private vacation compound. Laurance Rockefeller would later use this land to create the Dorado Beach Hotel and Golf Club. Hyatt Hacienda Del Mar is right next to Villa La Paz and even shares the same beach. In recent years, Dorado has been known for its development of upscale neighborhoods and Villas. Several well known politicians and artists own properties in Dorado.
Just 35 minutes from Luis Muñoz Marín international airport, Villa La Paz (Peace Villa) is located in Dorado, next to Hyatt Hacienda Del Mar and just minutes from some of the most beautiful resorts and tourist destinations of the Caribbean. A children friendly Villa community featuring a putting green, golf course and two tennis courts. The villa has great views of the lakes and magnificent fountains. Lakeside Villas has a main pool and a children's pool and playground. Surrounded by beautiful water fountains and lakes, Villa La Paz is an exquisite place for your ideal vacation. The beautiful beach will provide you with hours of fun and entertainment.
Lakeside Villas is also next door to Dorado Beach Resort & Club, which is home to four legendary championship golf courses. The famous East and West Courses, originally designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., are located in a secluded seaside sanctuary along two miles of Puerto Rico’s northeasterly shores, nestled within the former Rockefeller estate’s magnificent, mature landscaping.

10 Day Stay at Villa La Paz

My family of 5 really enjoyed our 10 day stay at Villa La Paz in June 2012. The pictures on VRBO and on the owners Villa La Paz website accurately reflected what the property was like. The whole time we were there it was peaceful and very quiet. Just what we were looking for! We also felt the rate for the rental was very fair. The unit was beautifully decorated, spacious and very clean. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals. The owner even had a cooler, beach/sand chairs ,beach towels and a child's boogie board for us to use. We went to the semi private beach 2 days and very much enjoyed it. The beach was also pretty clean. We preferred this beach over the public beaches we visited. My kids especially loved the waves! We used the pool once and we had it completely to ourselves We preferred the ocean over the pool as we don't live near an ocean and the pool water was too warm. It was a very short walk to both the beach and the pool. Overall the grounds of this property were very nice too and well maintained. My favorite part of the villa was the covered porch. Every morning I would sit on the porch, drink my coffee and watch my kids walk to the ponds and feed the turtles, ducks, and sometimes the lizards and crabs. Amazingly we were able to sit out on the porch at night too and not be bothered by any bugs. Most days we were off sightseeing. We traveled the entire island stopping in places such as San Juan, Rincon, Ponce, Mayaguez, Utuado, Arecibo, Ponce, Carolina, and Fajardo. We felt we covered Puerto Rico very well. After visiting all of these places and seeing other vacation properties and hotels, there was no doubt we made the right choice by staying at Villa La Paz in Dorado. The entire Dorado area is very nice and seems not as highly populated as some other areas. I highly recommend staying in Dorado at Villa La Paz.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children.

My wife, young baby and I were looking for a beautiful and peaceful villa to spend 5 days to unwind from the rigors of city life and boy did we find right villa to enjoy and unwind! We loved the stylish decor and the open spaces, high ceiling and relaxing veranda as well as the lush surrondings with the many small lakes and fountains with ducks, turtles and fishes - which we fed. We were delighted with the full kitchen - as we love to cook and found a wonderful gourmet supermarket La Hacienda, only 5 minutes away. The beach was immediately at our feet once we opened the gate from the community and the pool was marvellous. I did not use the tennis courts or putting green...we just relaxed and truly unwound...We highly recommend this Villa la Paz...the translation does the villa justice...peace/calmRecommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

Located in the City of Dorado, Villa La Paz exceeded all our expectations! This large (over 2600 sq. ft) villa is located on the second floor of a gated community. The villa is beautifully decorated (Beatles lovers will be especially impressed) and offers every amenity: beach towels and equipment, gas BBQ grill, washer and dryer, full-size kitchen appliances, etc. We traveled with 4 college students and they played WII every night and enjoyed playing their IPods on the stereo with surround sound. My favorite amenity was the full-size hammock on the huge wrap around porch! I enjoyed the cool breeze and the palm trees from the comfort of that hammock. One of the young adults even slept on it at night because it was so cool and comfortable. The villa had a community swimming pool with huge shaded gazebo and it had a private gate that led to the beach. The complex had ponds with fountains and streams running through it and the ducks who floated in the ponds looked forward to the bread that we fed them several times a day. Don't forget to buy an extra loaf of bread to feed to them. Even the turtles are so tame they would walk out of the pond when we called to them and would eat bread out of our hands! The owner was friendly and so helpful. She showed us around the entire villa and happily answered every question that we could ask her. If anything, the pictures do NOT do the villa justice because the rooms are so large that it is difficult to capture everything in one photo. The villa is the owners' second home and pride of ownership is apparent because it is so clean and well-maintained. A housekeeper visited midweek to change towels and thoroughly clean. Getting around in Puerto Rico is not easy. The traffic is congested and the streets and highways are not marked well. We found it easier and less frustrating to eat at the local restaurants than venturing too far away and getting lost. The food was always delicious and the beer was always ice cold! If you decide to visit Puerto Rico, you can't find a lovelier place to stay than Villa La Paz! I would absolutely recommend it to anyone wanting to relax and unwind and get away from it all!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

We chose to stay at Villa La Paz because we were actually looking for a quiet place to rest from our very busy lives. It was the perfect choice for us! The place is tranquil and we really never heard any neighbors. The villa is very spacious (there were only two of us). We loved using all the areas including the outdoor hammock to read a book while listening to the lake fountain and birds, ect. The family room was great for movies and the kitchen was equipped with everything you need to cook your own meals. And the beach....it was great! The beach is large and tranquil. The pool at the complex was also a plus for an after beach soak. I think one of my favorite experiences was having breakfast with the windows open and hearing the nature sounds. We will definetly return when we want some rest away from the huslte and bustle.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

Our family of 5 stayed at the lovely La Paz residence to kick off the start of 2011. Our kids ages range from 19 to 25. The place is quite large as advertised, including the living space, kitchen, bedrooms, and wrap around porch. High ceilings make the space seem even larger. We used the family room as a bedroom and it was very private. The community is beautiful and very quiet and private with a nice pool. The walk to the beach is just a few minutes. We highly recommend La Paz for a family or several couples.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
