Thank you to Benni, Aly and Marc for allowing us to experience what it is like to be a Haiku local, living in our own adorable cottage nestled in a miniature green jungle forest. How fun! The rooms were gleaming with the beautiful woodworking and local art~ truly filled with love and good cheer and VERY CLEAN and peaceful! The Meadow Cottage was spotless and so well appointed. As soon as we walked in, it was apparent that a lot of thoughtfulness and care was put into our stay. Thank so much for supplying shampoo/conditioner, body soap,coolers/beach chairs, a mini flashlight, washer dryer with detergent and very nice towels (so helpful)! We basically just needed our clothes and some fresh fruit and food items we purchased for the week to make us comfortable. We also liked that Haiku is pretty centrally located to all parts of the island. Although South and West Maui were further out (around 45-50 minutes away), part of the fun was driving and taking in the vistas and sights and Paia is just 10 minutes away. I will definitely return and recommend your property to everyone, I'm only sad that the massage room wasn't ready when I was there! : )Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

"Benni, Marc & Aly, What a wonderful stay we've had at the Meadow Cottage - cheery, spacious & clean. We loved hearing about it from you Marc. Your pride in your work is so evident. Tonight we had a sensational dinner at the General Store - St. Patrick's Day Special (corned beef) for Bill and Coconut Curry Seafood for me. Thanks to all 3 of you for this special meal. The Cannery Inn was a great location for all of our excursions - The Haleakala Volcano, botanical gardens, lavender farm, Makawao, Cats at the Iao Theater, the Road to Hana, the Iao Valley. We saw so much here. And found lots of good restaurants - Colleen's, Polli's, O'Lei in Wailuku & of course the General Store. Tomorrow we move on the Lahaina. We will truly miss the tranquility of Haiku & area. Mahalo, Ginny & Bill (Calgary, Alberta)"Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our family of five stayed here for a week and absolutely loved it. The grounds are wonderful and spacious and the cottage is truly exquisite. Lovely koa wood everywhere, clean and full of light. Our older girls loved their bedroom, and Aly took the trouble to get us a small futon for our toddler. We felt insulated from the touristy aspect of Maui up here, but were very close to everything. The drive out to Maui Ocean Center was short and even all the way up to Lahaina for a lu'au was an easy drive. We *loved* the outdoor shower after our day spent snorkeling! Aly checked in with us before we arrived in order to have family friendly food and beautiful fruit ready for our arrival. Thank you again - what a wonderful way to end our vacation!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

We had an amazing time! The cottage was clean and well stocked with tons of space to enjoy, both inside and outside. Very friendly owner and good location. When we arrived they had essential groceries like bread, milk, fruit, cereal, and juice for us which was so nice! Very beautiful setting and we loved the fruit trees. Stayed with my entire family, including my two kids and grandma. This space was perfect for everyone from my 1.5 year old toddler to my 88 year old grandma. Highly recommend this for families who want a relaxing Hawaiian vacation and not another stay in a hotel resort. It would be great for a romantic getaway too.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

If you are looking for thoughtfully-designed, eco-friendly and family-friendly upcountry lodging, look no further -- just hope your preferred dates are available. Marc and Aly were so helpful with details and any needs we had. The house has everything you need to be comfortable: good mattresses, well-stocked kitchen, entryway mudroom to hold all the beach gear and shoes. The garage is a plus for outside playtime if it's raining. Amazing grounds with numerous fruit trees and plenty of room to roam; grounds are shared with the family-owned bed and breakfast Haiku Cannery Inn. There is an amazing kids playground a short drive away. Close to relaxed Haiku town, easy short drive to beaches, Makawao and Paia. If you are going to Hana, staying on this side of the island gives you a headstart on the drive. The house is suitable for up to two couples, a family with children, as well as anyone wanting an upcountry experience away from the most touristy areas of Maui. We're already planning our return.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The Meadow Cottage is a terrific 'home away from home' option for families, especially those with young children. Its location is unique, quiet and low-key, yet a short drive to the very happening town of Paia and overall, a central location from which to explore Maui. The description and photos are spot-on accurate, but it wasn't until we arrived did we realize just how wonderful this cottage and property truly were. The owners were extremely kind and provided an array of fresh fruit and breakfast items. We will definitely stay here again and would highly recommend you do, as well!Recommended for: Families with young children.

We stayed here in the Meadow cottage for 4 nights and it was a wonderful experience. It is exactly how it is described on the website... clean, huge with plenty of indoor and outdoor space with an awesome outdoor shower ! The full Kitchen was stacked with fresh fruit and typical breakfast items. It is a lush green property with plenty of fruit trees and had fantastic views of the mountains . It was refreshing and cooler than the typical Maui weather ! The Baldwin and Paia beaches are just 5 minutes from the cottage ... probably the cleanest beaches with no tourists. This was also a good place to explore Haleakala and Road to Hana. Kiehi was about 25-30 minutes drive. The location is ideal for guests looking for a beautiful, quiet and reasonably-priced place to stay while exploring Maui. We would highly recommend this place ... very little to no tourists and home away from home !!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, people with disabilities.
