This is my family's third year meeting somewhere half way between where we each live. This is by far the best place we have stayed yet. The house is more like a home than a vacation rental. The first morning we woke up to several deer standing in the front yard, and the last night a large group of deer going down to the water. The children ages 9, 6, 5, and 3 had a blast in the pool and had many games and movies to keep them busy when inside. Just can't say enough nice things about this lovely home. Thank you Sam and Sharon for sharing your home with us.

We spent this last week at one of the most relaxing homes I have ever rented. Very clean and homey. I cooked in all week and there was nothing I needed from the kitchen. They had everything. The house is very private. We took our boat for some fishing, but we could not pull ourselves from the pool. The pool was excellent. It was a little too hot to use the hot tub (outside humidity was terrible), but we were finally able to one night after a rain shower. The master bedroom with the hot tub out on the deck was very romantic. My husband and I were celebrating our 25 year anniversary. We took our 14 yr old daughter and her friend. They loved the house and the great selections of movies and games. If you are coming down for vacation, down waste the extra space for beach towels. They have plenty. Plenty of cleaning products. There is no false advertising here. And if you have any hesitation of it being a smoking friendly or pet friendly home, don't. There was no evidence of either. A very clean home, open spaces, great decks (5), private, quiet, terrific and clean pool, and a very cool fishing pier. The girls were not big fisherwomen, but by the end of the week they were begging to "hurry" up and go fishing. They were baiting their on hooks and taking off their own fish. We also were lucky enough to see an alligator one night up in the cove. 4 to 5 feet long. Very cool thing to see. If you have a boat, there is a private neighborhood launch dock that you can use for free. Dock the boat right down at your own private fishing pier and you are ready to head out dusk and dawn. I hope everyone has as much fun as we did. We had look at the mountains and the coast for a rental home and we found the best of both worlds in this home. Feels like a mountain lake cabin and it feels like a beach home with all of the palm trees. I knew I was exactly where I needed to be this last week. I needed peace and relaxation and privacy. I found all three here at the Lake House. Thank you Sharon and Sam. It was JUST PERFECT !!.

This is our 3rd visit to the lake house. We enjoyed each stay and the house had everything we needed. The pool and dock are great! We seem to be getting better at fishing. Fishing around the new dock at the end of the cove is great for bass. Thanks again!

My family and I have stayed here 3 times so far and plan to come back again in April. The amenities are fantastic and the location is so peaceful. We fish, boat, cookout and just enjoy the tranquility. We look forward to each visit and we highly recommend you plan to stay here next time you want to enjoy Lake Marion.

This is an excellent locale for your stay. I brought my mother and aunt here too. My husband, myself and our dogs thoroughly enjoyed this home. It was truly welcoming. Everything that we needed was here. We could not have asked for more perfect hosts. Sam and Sharon deserve the greatest appreciation for opening their home to visitors. It is a country home that exudes ambience and hospitality. We truly enjoyed the dock and really loved the pool. We enjoyed a round of golf at the numerous nearby locations. Loved the home and absolutely hated to leave. If you choose to stay here, you will not be disappointed and you should treasure the home as if it is your own. One of the things that is really great about the home is there is a deck out every side of the home, top and bottom. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this location to anyone else. There is no false advertising here.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Lake House!! It was the most relaxing place we have been in quite a while. The house was very clean and everthing we needed was already there. We spent the majority of our time in the pool. My 4 year old daughter loved it. Sam & Sharon, thank you for sharing your home with us and we cannot wait until next time. Sam and Sharon. thank you for sharing your lake house with our family. The kids loved the pool and the guys loved the dock. We caught a few small Bream and one turtle off the dock. Catch and release of course! We rented a boat, but had more fun swimming than fishing. The large soft shell turtle at the mouth of your inlet was interesting. Thanks again!

Wonderful house and wonderful owner - the house has real character and the pool, spa, and deck are real pluses in addition to the dock and the lake. Sharon is a great owner and makes sure you have everything you need for a memorable and relaxing stay at the lake.

My family just spent two weeks at the lake house and had a blast. The setting is so relaxing, the pool is very nice and the house meets all your needs. We played games, watched movies and just relaxed the whole time. The home is well maintained and well equiped. If you are looking for a quiet, restful time this is the ticket!!!
Owner response:Please note date of stay was July 6, 2010, not 2008. Thank you

Dear Sam and Sharon: Once again, thanks for the use of your lovely home. And a special thanks for the added railing down the deck steps. My 80 something year old parents thought that was very nice. Again, a fun time was had by all. We bought our boat this year, so we got to explore the lake a little more! Blessings to you and yours, and we will see you again next year!

Thanks for sharing your little peace of heaven with us. The word "Peaceful" was spoken every day. We enjoyed everything from morning coffee on the deck, listening to the sounds of the wild to night times watching the full moon and stars. The pool was delightful. Just the place for our family to gather, rest, fish, play games together, and enjoy your wonderful home. We have been taking my parents on vacation for the last 10 years and they say this is by far the best they have had. We all look forward to coming back next year! Until then - May God Bless you and yours! Bob and Dana Williams - Savannah, GA

We had a wonderful, relaxing week at the lake house this summer. The location wasn't that far away, but it FELT like a whole different world. We especially enjoyed the quiet, the birds, and the pool. Thanks for being such good hosts, and we're hoping to rent your home again in the future.

Just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time staying at your vacation home and will definitely recommend it to others. The only down side was that we were only able to spend a day and a half there. It's such a great spot. I wish we had had more time. My son and his wife were big fans of the hot tub and pool deck. With them coming from Florida and us from Connecticut, it was a very convenient place to meet. While the weather in October wasn't perfect, we still got to spend some quality time in the pool. It was lovely. It was especially nice having a big yard for the dogs to run around in. We will keep your vacation home in mind for future bookings. Thanks.

We loved your wonderful home and just did not want to leave. The seclusion of the property makes you feel alone in the woods and that was just what we were looking for. The pool was terrific, the boat dock perfectly located for lake access and I look forward to trying out the hot tub during another season. Thank you so much for everything and we look forward to another stay very soon. Best Regards, Jim, Bridgett & The Girls

Great house and setting. Nice quiet location. We stayed here because it had a dock and could bring our boat, which we did. We were more than pleasantly surprised. The house was beautiful with great access to the lake. The owners represented the property honestly and were a pleasure to do business with. I give this a five star rating.
