Karin’s Bed and Golf is a charming log cabin nestled in the foothills of the Selkirk Mountains of Northeastern Washington on the Pend Oreille River and directly next to Serendipity Golf Course. Ione is located 75 miles north of Spokane and 20 miles south of British Columbia, Canada.
The river provides 50 miles of waterways between dams and is a very slow flowing river - best for waterskiing and other water sports.
It is an ideal place for golfers as rounds of golf/w cart are included in the rental fee. However, it offers much more than just golf – there is a boat dock w/ladder for swimming and boating. A canoe is tied there for your use. A private racquetball court is available for you. We have two private lakes on our property where guests may enjoy catch and release fishing.
On the deck is a private hot tub spa for your enjoyment as well as BBQ, patio furniture for entertainment.
Metaline Falls boasts its Cutter Theatre with a variety of performances. The North Pend Oreille Valley Lions Club hosts annual train rides in the summer and throughout the fall to show the beauty of the autumn colors. Gardner Caves and Boundary Dam offer visitor tours. An indoor water park is also located within 20 miles.
Great hiking paths are all around and many vista points are along the river, or you may just enjoy our wildlife from your deck – you may see Bald Eagles, Osprey, Duck, Geese, Turkey, Deer, Elk and, occasionally, Moose and Bear.
The kitchen is well equipped with all amenities of home. A loft, overlooking living space, holds 3 additional queen beds.
I am convinced that you will find great relaxation here at Karin’s Bed and Golf and will plan to return again for a visit.

Saw this listing while searching for cabin rentals for a family getaway. Being an avid golfer, I was concerned that my wife and kids would not have as much fun as I would. Boy, was I wrong. The kids (ages 9, 7, & 4) and wife had an absolute blast! Golfing with Dad early morning, and all day to discover beautiful Ione WA. The cabin is great and very cozy with tons of space both in and out, hot tub, and all that you would need. Golf course is very well maintained and perfect for golfing with kids as there is no rush (with carts available at your disposal). The cabin sits right by the river with beautiful views all around, and is secluded enough that you really feel like you got away. I would have booked this even without the benefit of the golf course. Lakes abound, tons of fishing, boating, swimming – you name it, we did it. The one special thing about Conrad’s Bed n Golf is the owners. We were treated like family during our stay. Karin and her family are lovely people whom we still keep in touch with today. My kids talk about Karin all the time, and have memories that will last them a lifetime. They went fishing together, played together, and even caught frogs with Karin. We arrived as guest and left as friends. If you have a young family and are not sure about a Bed n Golf – go for this one. It’s everything you could ask for. Can’t wait to be back next year. Hopefully my golf will have improved. Our family and friends have been staying 2 to 3 times a year at Serindipity for the last 6 years. This place is beautiful, peaceful, comfortable, fun golf, just a alround great time. Karin and her stepson David keep this place, house and golf course very nice and they have become great friends to us. I could go on and on but if you stay once you will be back. As soon as the west side on the State finds this hidden gem you will have to book 2 years in advance. The golf was fun, and being on the water was a real treat. We were all able to go as a group on a bown for a ride down the river. Everything was spic and span and well furnished. I had nothing to complain about except the long flight back to N.C.Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Year Purchased: 1986
About the owner: In 1984, my late husband and I decided to build a log home on the beautiful Pend Oreille River. After completing our home, we decided to build a small log house as our guesthouse. Later on, Conrad decided that he would build his own, private golf course and started the project in 1992. Unfortunately, he was not able to finish his dream as he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 1996 and died shortly thereafter. My son David and I decided to finish his project and Serendipity Golf Course was completed. As a widow with a rather large Estate, I decided to offer my guesthouse as a “Bed and Golf” and called it “Conrad’s Bed & Golf. For the past 8 years, I have rented the cabin in the summer months – by word of mouth – quite regularly. I have now remarried and moved to Southern California, where my new husband, Randy and I reside, but we decided to keep my home in Ione and continue to rent the guesthouse. Now this property is our “second home”. We may decide, by next year, to offer the main house as a rental. It has an indoor swimming pool and various great vacation rental amenities.
Why the Owner Chose Ione:
Ione has a paved, well lighted, 5,000 ft airport runway. The airport is directly across the River from our home. It was most important for us to build near an airport as we owned/flew a 210 Cessna T which allowed us the mobility to enjoy city and country alternatively.

The location of this property is on the beautiful Pend Oreille River and has breathtaking vistas of the mountains all around. On one side, we have a golf course and on the other, the water. After completion of our estate in 1986, we named it Serendipity - and it is........
