Kythira is an island in the Ionian Sea, which lies southwest of Laconia peninsula and into the arms of the Aegean and the Cretan Sea. Kythira had been a crossroads of merchants, sailors, and conquerors. This is reflected in its architecture (a blend of traditional, Aegean and Venetian elements), as well as the traditions and customs, influenced by centuries of coexistence of the Greek, Venetian, and British civilizations as well as its numerous visitors. It is known as the island of Aphrodite with turquoise seas, beautiful villages, castles, caves and many major attractions. Kythira is not very cosmopolitan island remains a natural and quiet so it is ideal for those who love relaxing holidays. Kythira is the place to relax, enjoy the peace, sun and nature - a true hidden treasure in the Mediterranean. Kythira is frequented mostly by Greeks and few foreigners, although English is understood and spoken everywhere. The island offers deserted beaches (sand or rocks) to swim and tan, a lush Western coast with rainforest-like vegetation, waterfalls and small ponds, trails for hiking and mountainbiking, and wonderful views.

The House is located in the village of Trifillianika. Trifillanika is the next village after Aroniadika, a key location and main crossroads at the heart of the island. The village is an ideal base for anyone who desires to discover all the beauties of Kithira.

The house is located 8 km from the airport, 18 km from the port of Diakofti, 20 km from Chora (the main village of the island), 500 m from the village Potamos (large village and commercial center) and 5 km from the beach.

It is just 25mins drive from the port of Kythira, 'Diakofti' and 15 mins from the airport. Most of the beaches are 15mins drive from the village. Diakofti is one of them, Kombonada, Fyri Ammos, Kaladi and Avlemonas.

Traditional tavernas like Kyra Maria in Logothetianika, Panaretos in Potamos are recommended but you can also try the best souvlaki in the main road of Aroniadika.

Castle of Paleochora is one of the most important archeological sites is the ruined fortress of Paleochora, the islands Byzantine capital is only 3mins by car.

On your way to the house you will find 2 supermarkets, Gikas and in Potamos Bardas.

You definitely need a car to move around Kythira. You can rent one from the airport or from the port of Diakofti.

There are a lot of ways to come to Kythira. By plane from the international Airport of Athens or boat from Piraeus. Also roadly up to Gythion and Neapoli Lakonia and from there again by boat. If you come from Crete you will find the boat in Kasteli of Kissamos (district of Chania).

You will find more information in the travel agencies, where you will buy your tickets. And don’t forget always in time, because the demand is big. Now if you come with your ship look the information in the category Marina .
