This casita will always be dear to our heart. Pat and Chris were wonderful hosts and always quick to meet any of our requests. It is a very quiet location with beautiful sunsets enjoyed every evening over a margarita. The casita was charming and clean inside with many unique features. We enjoy cooking and the kitchen met all our needs. There is a farmers' market nearby where we got wonderful flour tortillas and fresh roasted green chiles every week. The only drawback was the 2 1/2 mile dirt road to the casita. If this rental was on a paved road it would easily be worth $1000.00 more a month.
Owner response: We Thank You for your your kind words, as posted, the Casita is on 1-1/2 miles of dirt road and at times the road does get a little rough that is why people come to the Casita it is the true ranch experience, but not many people seem to mind they understand before hand that there is a dirt road. Other then that 99.9% of everyone that has stayed falls in love with the Casita and always returns.
We Thank You again for your for your kind words.
Pat - Chris and all the ranch animals :)

About the owner: Chris and I live on the same property about 400 feet away from the Casita, the Casita and our home cannot be seen from each other. Chris, my husband is a custom home builder so both homes were custom built by us. We have one horse and one mule Chris does pack trips as a hobby. This property was part of a 1000 acre working ranch, the old ranch house is still being lived in and has been recently re-modeled. It is a beautiful place to live Chris and I (Pat) have 2 sons 2 daughter-in-laws and 2 Grandchildren.
Why the Owner Chose Vail: This property is in a unique area, with amazing views, peace and quiet yet not to far from everything (11 Miles to Tucson) there are hiking, biking, and horse trails, abundant wildlife all right at your finger-tips. This is the perfect place to kick your feet up and relax or go for a walk in the wash and find Indian pottery, or visit an old homestead.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage: The first time I saw this area it was instant love, there are 4 Mtn. ranges all visible from any room in the Casita, amazing sun-sets from the balcony, we always see wildlife, and above all the serenity that this area brings to you. Not to mention the beautiful hand crafted touches that the Casita offers, open beams in the kitchen, dining and living room the beautiful stone fireplace, have all be chosen and hand crafted and built by us.
