Welcome to Casa Alegria, one of the newest 'true' penthouses located in the prestigious condominium complex of La Casa Que Ve al Mar in Zihuatanejo, Mexico. Situated high on the hillside overlooking beautiful Playa La Ropa and Zihuatanejo Bay, Casa Alegria is a 2185 square foot contemporary, two-level penthouse, located on the 6th and 7th floors of the building with elevator access, allowing magnificent views of the bay, spectacular sunsets and the blue Pacific Ocean from every room in the condo. Casa Alegria is tastefully furnished with custom designed furnishings, native Mexican art and pottery, handmade Oaxacan rugs, and treasures from Africa. It has marble floors with intricate inlaid stones throughout and beautiful custom wood furnishings. From the second you enter, you will feel right at home and recognize the beauty and the attention to detail throughout the penthouse.
The entire lower level consists of the living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry room/pantry and a half bath. It is quite spacious, opening onto two terraces and its own private plunge pool, a few steps from the bar. The dining room can accommodate eight guests around a beautiful custom designed table. The gourmet kitchen is beautifully finished with granite counters and stainless appliances. It has a purified water system for drinking and ice and is fully equipped with top of the line cooking essentials. Should you choose not to cook but want to dine in, a personal chef can be arranged at an extra charge. The living area is equipped with air conditioning and four ceiling fans.
The upper level houses two king suites and a study with beautiful vaulted wood ceilings. Each suite has a king bed, a private marble bathroom with an outdoor shower and its own private terrace, offering fabulous views of the calm blue water below. The master suite has a unique bed built in the center of the room, so when you awake in the morning, the ocean is literally the first thing you see! There is also a large window opening to the mountain behind where bird life and a tropical jungle abound. Each bedroom has its own air conditioning unit, ceiling fan and flat screen TV with DVD player. Being located high on the hillside, you will enjoy the cool and refreshing breezes, like silk on your skin, and the sounds of the surf and waves crashing on Playa La Ropa. These are beautiful accommodations in a beautiful setting for you to enjoy in utmost relaxation!
Located in the study at the top of the stairs is an entertainment center with a large flat screen TV with satellite service and a DVD player with surround sound speakers. You truly feel as though you are in your private theatre! The entertainment center includes a desk for your laptop and a printer is provided. Free wireless internet service is available throughout the condo. The study also has its own air conditioner and ceiling fan for your comfort.
Many services can be arranged if you so desire, i.e. shopping for your favorite foods and beverages before your arrival, a personal chef, a massage in the comforts of the condo where you can enjoy the views, etc. We are also one of the few condos that offer free airport pick up. We have a bilingual concierge on site to assist you with any requests that you might have. Housekeeping service is provided two days per week.

Ann, I just wanted to thank you again for all of your hospitality and help setting up our stay at your beautiful condo. Everything from the greeting and airport pick up by Elizer views from all rooms, beautiful decor, pleantiful kitchen amenities to candles made this our best VRBO experience yet with all others being great but none even approaching this. I highly recommend this property to one or two couples. This property will surpass your expectations!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

My husband and I as well as another couple stayed at this condo for two weeks. We loved the fact it had two beautiful private bedrooms with king sized beds.The outdoor shower felt so exotic. We all agreed that we had never stayed in a more beautiful place while on vacation. Everything about this condo is spectacular including the view.They have thought of everything down to the smallest detail.The kitchen has everything you would need to cook a gourmet meal. The decorations and art work are so original and tasteful. The property is well maintained and the cleaning lady was there every few days. The infiniti pool within the complex is lovely to lounge around with its beautiful views of Zihuatanejo Bay and it is within short walking distance to La Ropa beach. This condo was everything that was described on the web page and more. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing fun vacation in a superb location.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We had the most amazing week at this incredible and magnificent penthouse over looking Zihautanejo and Playa Ropa. You could hear the waves from the ocean at night. The soaking pool on the patio that overlooked the bay was a fun way to end the day. It was one of our most favorite places to stay!!!! We loved sitting out on the patio each morning and enjoying our coffee and ending the day watching the sunset. The local restaurants were great! We highly recommend this penthouse for a wonderful get away. We loved the outdoor showers. The staff was very helpful - the condo is even better than the photos show. The two outdoor pools were great! It is a short (but steep) walk to the most amazing beach! This is a great condo for two couples - lots of privacy and very romantic! We highly recommend this VRBO!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My only hesitation on giving an OUTSTANDING review on our stay here is that I am selfish and want to keep this dream condo to ourselves!!! It was a perfect vacation, with perfect accomodations! The staff was very helpful, the pools were amazing, the views of the sunsets incredible! This condo is PERFECT for two couples. The kitchen is well equipped. The privacy and serenity are unparalleled! Condo is even better than the photos! I would highly recommend this VRBO to couples without children. It's a short (but semi-steep) to the most amazing beach! We are most definitely coming back!!!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

We loved our vacation rental at this magnificent penthouse over looking Zihautanejo. You could hear the waves from the ocean at night as you drifted off to sleep. We loved lounging in the pool on the patio that overlooked the bay. It was a fabulous place to stay!!!! It is beautifully decorated and we loved sitting out on the patio each morning and enjoying our coffee and fresh orange juice. The surrounding restaurants were also a treat for us. We highly recommend this penthouse for a wonderful get away. In addition, the outdoor showers were also a treat for us. If you are looking for the perfect place to relax, this paradise spot is where you need to go!!!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This condo is just as described on the owner's page and even better looking in real life. Everything about it is just perfect for a great holiday in this beautiful area of La Ropa beach. We have stayed in other nice condos at Casa que ve al mar, but this one is definitely the nicest of all. My husband and I enjoyed this unit tremendously. It is beautiful , the grounds are lovely, the pools excellent. The unit is very private, and has everything you would want. The walk to the beach is short, but has steep inclines. We rent thru vrbo everywhere and this was one of our favorites.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

About the owner: We first vacationed in Zihuatanejo in 2005, rented a condo at La Casa Que Ve al Mar and fell in love with the area. We returned a year later with our sons and decided to buy a condo. We first purchased a standard sized 2 bedroom unit in 2006 and then purchased the penthouse in 2007 and finished the interior just the way we wanted it! We spend approximately three months each year in Casa Alegria, sharing our condo with family and friends, and becoming more and more acquainted with other owners and the people of Zihuatanejo.
Why the Owner Chose Zihuatanejo:
It is a beautiful area with wonderful people, many sights to see, various activities and fabulous restaurants! We live near Albuquerque, New Mexico, where our winters can be cold and long, so owning this condo has provided us with a great winter escape where the weather from November to June is always perfect!
