Sandy Cove is located on the prestigious Eastern Shore peninsula, Marsh Harbour, Abaco, Bahamas. This delightful home provides a sunrise to sunset view of the crystal clear aquamarine water of the Sea of Abaco.
The artful landscape includes a tropical garden of native trees, flowering plants, and stone paths. The private beach area offers a gazebo for shade, tables for dining, lounge chairs for sunning and steps leading to one of the few sandy beach areas in Marsh Harbour for swimming and snorkeling. There is a shared dock on the south side.
The spacious house features open beam ceilings, solid wood flooring, and ceiling fans throughout. A magnificent stone fireplace and built in bookcases add to the ambiance of the living room (30' by 16'). The living room is equipped with Cable TV, telephone, stereo and CD, and tape player. A screened porch off the dining room (16' by 16') and sun deck off the living room opens onto the Sea of Abaco. The full sized and fully furnished kitchen has a dishwasher, wet bar, ice-maker, coffee grinder, espresso machine, and microwave oven.
The master bedroom (13' by 13') and second bedroom (11' by 13') each have queen sized beds with sliding glass doors leading to a small screen porch. The third bedroom (11' by 11') has twin beds. All bedrooms have A/C and offer great views of the water and the gardens. The two bathrooms are furnished with linens and towels.
There are unique antiques and colorful island artwork throughout the house.
Location
Marsh Harbour is the largest town in the Abacos with an airport and scheduled daily flights to many east coast Florida cities as well as Nassau. There are several fine restaurants, well-stocked grocery stores, places to rent boats, cars and bikes within 20 minutes walking. In town you can also get a ferry to the out-island Guana Cay. The house is a 10 minute walk to the Ferry which will transport you to the out-islands of Hope Town or Man-of-War.

Reservations
Reservations are confirmed upon receipt of a 50% deposit, with the balance due 30 days before arrival date, plus a refundable $300 security/damage deposit. Maximum of 6 guests with no children under age 12 and no pets.
Cancellation Policy
Rental fee is refundable minus $100 if alternate guests are booked.

What a wonderful week! Your home was delightful! Everything went so well - we are all coming back!! Sandy Cove is a well appointed home with sea at your feet back and front and everything you need for a comfortable holiday. guests have the house to themselves, beds are comfortable, kitchen well-appointed, TV and internet provided. Hosts Jim and Denise hospitable and discreet live nearby and provided back-up when and if required. we loved the sights and sounds of boats passing up and down the channel, watching the variety of fish that visit the dock below the house, days spent boating out to the cays, and others taking it easy on the deck. Swimming in the front of the house is shallow and safe. This is a place where one can relax. We will be happy to return. Practical advice: Marsh Harbor and the nearest supermarket area 30 to 40 minute walk along the narrow peninsula of Eastern Shore; although the local taxi service is good, next time we would rent a car. the ferries to the cays are closer; about 10 to 15 minutes on foot, and are a less expensive alternative to renting your own boat. The little towns on the cays - e.g. Hopetown and Man O War - are full of character, old timber houses, no cars and well worth the visit. Local food includes peas 'n rice and deep fried plantain - a great hit with the family - with blackened wahoo and mahi-mahi the best of the fresh fish we tasted.Did you find this review helpful? About the owner: My husband I love the water and snorkel, kayak, fish for bonefish, and go boating to the different cays.
Why the Owner Chose Marsh Harbour:
We had gone to many different cays in the Bahamas and had decided that we wanted to find an island where we could have a retirement vacation home to do all the things we love. The island is easy to get to from the US and has a fantastic back country for flyfishing, kayaking, and wildlife.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The house's location provides us with easy access to town, the other cays such as Hope Town and Guana while at the same time we have privacy and access to the Sea of Abaco on two sides.
