This house far exceeded our expectations. It has been expertly renovated, preserving the original character of the house while adding smart design elements throughout. The kitchen is fantastically equipped and very beautiful. Don't worry about bringing any of your own equipment if you like to cook.. if you can think of a tool, the kitchen has it, and its probably better than what is in your own kitchen. The living room, bathrooms, and bedrooms all have the perfect balance between conveying the character of the house and the town and being comfortable, modern spaces. The porch is a real treat to hang out on and read or have a few drinks. The location, on Peach Street, is fantastic. We could walk to the beach in about 10 minutes, and that was a slow pace. The quirky cafe and stores are much closer... about a four minute walk. Parking isn't an issue.. you'll understand if you've ever been to Cape Charles. I actually kind of didn't want to write this review, because it'll only make it harder for us to book this place in the future, but the owner really deserves kudos for her work in restoring/upgrading this house... I have rented through Homeaway before and I would say this for sure is my best find yet. This Cape Charles home on Peach St is perfect. Everything you need and a few extras. The owner goes out of her way to be helpful with information and she adds her special touches to the house. This house is your home for your vacation stay with comfort. Two blocks from the house , a quite bay beach. One block from a nice pet friendly park and around the corner the cute town of Cape Charles with special shops and friendly people. The Cape Charles Coffe Shop is a must. Fresh bake goods everyday . They offer old fashion fresh breakfast and lunch. Brown Dog Ice Cream shop is yummy. For dining in the evening my favorite was Aqua at the Bay Creek Village. The area is very dog friendly. People take the time to wave and say hello. Lots of fun activities too.
