My name is Alberto and, like many other before, I fell madly in love with this impressive Country when I first landed here some 10 years ago as the Country Manager of the World Bank to Colombia. During my tenure here I had the privilege to travel extensively around this amazing geography, its permanently snowed high peaks in the Andean chains, its two oceans, wild forest and plains. What struck me most, however, is the vibrant Colombian society, its warm, talented and welcoming population and artistic manifestations, either in music, literature, architecture, etc. Still one of the best-kept secrets in Latin America Colombia is one of the last depositaries of best maintained colonial architecture and Mompox, together with Cartagena, perhaps one of its best manifestations.
