Entering the gated grounds, our staff directs you along the exquisitely-maintained private golf course … the country club, an 1850’s antebellum mansion, beckons in the distance. This is Kenmure, a golf community in the heart of Flat Rock, NC, long considered the fashionable summer retreat of wealthy Charlestonians.
Newly renovated, we offer the comforts of home (and then some…). A former luxury hotel executive, I’ve appointed the house with amenities befitting discriminating guests.
Inside, the décor is elegantly whimsical… The two floor layout (master suite on the main level; two upstairs bedrooms, one queen, one bunk-bedded), is open and airy with high ceilings and plantation shutters promoting ample light. Three flat-screened televisions (with enhanced cable), Wi-Fi throughout the house, and unlimited local and domestic long-distance calls, offer added convenience.
Overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains, the garden blooms lavender, mint, and a variety of seasonal flowers… sit, with your pooch on the porch, sipping a glass of wine while dinner cooks on the grill.
Your rental includes a personal membership to Kenmure County Club: complimentary use of a state-of-the-art 3,400 square foot fitness facility, two swimming pools (one in, one out-seasonal), tennis (both hard and soft surfaces), and discounted greens fees at our Joe Lee-designed (bent grass, par 72), golf course (voted by “Golfweek” as one of the “Top 50” courses in the southeast).
The country club offers both casual and fine dining restaurants (outdoor dining in season), a ballroom, and amply-stocked pro-shop.
Nature abounds with area lakes and the DuPont National Forest right up the road. Hike to local waterfalls, then stop for groceries at the local ‘tailgate’ market. Want culture? Kenmure is located 20 minutes from Asheville, and two miles from downtown Hendersonville, (a lovely walking town with an array of terrific restaurants, art galleries and eclectic shops). The NC State Theater is right outside our gates.
