Imagine getting up in the morning, putting on a sweater, and taking your steaming mug of coffee out to the patio to overlook the crisp and verdant beauty of a quiet farm in the mountains of Western North Carolina. This is your chance to slow down, unwind, and reconnect with the one you love! Meadow Branch Cottage is a pristine 1 bedroom, 1 bath cottage that overlooks East Fork Farm.
The farm is located near Marshall, an effortlessly friendly small town perched on the edge of the French Broad River. Go for a hike in the nearby Pisgah National Forest, or explore Asheville, a storied and beautiful city known as the 'Paris of the South' half an hour away, or just stay in, and enjoy the cottage decorated with local artisan crafts and hand-made pottery.
In the evening, gaze up at the perfect quiet stars as you soak in the aromatic Japanese Ofuru cedar hot tub. When you're ready for bed, let the crickets and the frogs lull you to sleep, knowing you can do it all again the next day. Enjoy the solitude and peace that's been absent from your busy life at Meadow Branch cottage!

The peace, elegance, organic, wonderful, romantic, this list could go on and on feel of this place is amazing. It was exactly what my wife and I needed. We loved it so much that we are going to bring our kids back and stay at the bigger cottage so they can see it. The farm is beautiful! You get the best of both worlds, the farm and the elegance of the cottage. The Japanese Soaker tub is truly unique and so soothing. From the hand made pottery in the cottage to the fresh lamb and eggs you are given it makes you feel pampered from the minute you arrive. THANK YOU SO MUCH!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway.

Staying at Meadow Branch Cottage was by far the best vacation location we have ever found! The location was absolutely amazing, close enough to town, but far enough away to feel secluded and enjoy time together. The cottage is set perfectly on the mountain overlooking the green farm and views of the mountains. The outside area was perfect for relaxing and enjoying time alone. The cedar soaking tub is what set this cottage over the top! The view of the stars at night while soaking was breathtaking. We will definitely be back to this cottage!! If you are looking for a clean, eco friendly, organic location for your trip, this is it! We even stayed an extra night to enjoy the cottage one more day!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.

If you think vacationing on a farm means roughing it, the cottages at East Fork Farm will prove otherwise. My husband and I stayed for a weekend to celebrate his birthday, and he confidently said it was the best birthday in years. We adored the cedar hot tub overlooking the gorgeous mountains and pasture, and all of the special details included in the cottage, right down to the fluffy pillows and ultra-soft sheets. We enjoyed seeing the sheep, cooking on the Viking stovetop, visiting the pond, and walking around the property. We loved sipping local coffee (provided) each morning from the hot tub while watching the sun come up. The cottage itself is so welcoming and cozy, we felt instantly at home. A very special vacation! We will be back, no doubt! Highly recommend!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.

This is one of the farm's two properties (the other is smaller but further back from the main road), and both have an incredible amount of personality. It's a wonderful retreat and comes with the added bonus of knowing you're supporting a sustainable farm and an incredibly kind family. We'll definitely be back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Found this jewel on the internet! Ah....theproblems and anxieties flew down the valley! We had a great time. The tub was great with a cup of coffee in the morning. This was the first experience of tasting a lamb steak...delish! I have stayed in a few cabins and some B&B's, but this was the most enjoyable. We went to Black Mountain, downtown Asheville and the NC Arboretum. Wish we had some of these experiences in Chattanooga. We will be back and tell our friends about this secret hide out.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We only stayed for two nights but can truly say they were the BEST 2 nights of our week long vacation. We spent outr time in NC Gem mining - lots of hard work at the mines - we started in Franklin then came here & went to crabtree Emerald mine and Little Pine Gamet mine with success at each one. The hot tub felt great after a day of mining. We were greeted the first morning by a beatiful hawk outside the patio window - the views are spectacular, the farm fresh eggs were great and the ground lamb was outta this world. This place is a "diamond" in the rough! We volunteer at an owl sanctuary in Ocala FL and we always look for nature settings to try and stay at - this was definitely one of those places. Thank you again for a great place to rest and relax. We will definitely tell all of our family and friends and will definitely be back! Keep doing what you are doing! The lightning bug show each night was awesome.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2010
About the owner: We moved to Madison County in 1996 in hopes of starting a farm and family and becoming self sustainable. We have been farming for 15 years and are now branching out to the public by selling our lamb, chicken, rabbit, duck and eggs at local tailgate markets. Our latest venture on the farm has been to open our farm to visitors through our vacation rentals and the support has been amazing.
