CASA JOAQUINA
(What are our famous guests saying? Contact us for our online guestbook address.)
Location, location, location.
Would you prefer a house to an apartment? Worried about the raucous 3am Chiado/Bairro Alto nightlife? Want to be within walking distance to the main sights but far from hotels and the tourist crush?
Perched above the Praca dos Restauradores, this beautifully restored, historically-protected 19th century terraced home is exactly where you want to be . . . an 8 minute walk from the Rossio, Lisbon's main plaza.
(Our delightfully quiet, hidden lane consists of some of the very few private homes to be found in central Lisbon. The charming, famous neighbors are an added plus.)
All your favourite sites are nearby: the Baixa and Bairro Alto, Lisbon's open-air 'restaurant row,' the Chiado shopping district, plus two of the best in-city "kid parks" in Lisbon. We provide customised walking maps to help you explore the city at your leisure.
Relax on the rooftop garden terrace with a glass of Vinho Verde, enjoy cocktails while you gaze over the city center...
A 10 minute walk takes you down to the Rossio train station, where you catch a ride to Sintra, Fatima, or the medieval walled-city of Obidos. Or grab our beach towels and cooler and head for the beach! Not beach weather? Visit the Gulbenkian Museum, Belem, Oceanarium, Zoo...
POOL: We can arrange passes to our community pool, reachable only via a maze of 18th century outdoor staircases. ($3.50/hour, closed August).
