Why the Owner Chose SedaliaThis luxury home is actually our own home. We choose to live in an old mountain cabin nearby during the summer time.
The Unique Benefits at this HouseHiking, fishing, white water rafting, mountain biking are all activities on or near the property. Just the views from this elevated deck offer the peace and quiet of mountain living. A unique setting, centrally located to all the attractions Colorado has to offer. Denver, just 40 minutes to the north, has the fun of the big city. Colorado Springs, just 50 minutes to the south, has all the sights for an awesome vacation: Air Force Academy, Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, etc. The list goes on. Castle Rock, our nearby "big" town 15 minutes away, hosts theaters, shopping, antiques, and the like. By far, The Lodge in the Pike is unique for its central location, yet secluded mountain setting.
Owner's Map of Sedalia
Your hosts, Tom and Deb have lived in the home since 2002, although Tom grew up just across the highway and knows the area very well. After a 26 years in the U.S.A.F., Tom and Deb decided to move back to his native roots. We love the area with so much beauty and peace. We just want to share this experience with everyone.

Tom and Deb have the most beautiful and serene place on the planet. Built on the side of a mountain it is a true paradise. You will be spoiled and pampered and then while you are relaxing with every luxury known you will get your mind piece of mind back. If you want to reinvigorate, recharge and relight the flame there is no other place I have ever been that works like Tom and Debs beautiful mansion in the mountains. I can't wait to go back!!
Owner response:Thanks so much for your kind words. We look forward to your return next year. Thanks for the food as well.

My husband and I stayed at The Lodge in the Pike for 4 nights and it wasn't nearly long enough. The pictures don't do it justice. It was extremely clean and had every amenity. The grounds were beautiful as was the pool area. Tom and Deb were great to work with and made sure we had everything we needed. We arrived after dark and they had the cabin unlocked and lights on. The property backs up to The Pike National Forest which gives you great hiking without having to drive. There wasn't any cell service but we did have a fairly decent internet connection. We would highly recommend this home and will be back as soon as we can!
Owner response:Thank you so much for your kind words. We're glad you enjoyed your stay - and that you'll be back!!!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, families with teenagers.
Secluded Luxury Retreat

This property delivered exactly as per the listing, and much more. The layout is unique, spacious and complete. We especially enjoyed the feel of a luxury retreat in the Master Bedroom, lazy/quiet mornings and evenings on front deck, and the trees left "built-in" in the sunroom and side porch. Tom and Deb were excellent hosts and very accomodating for our two dogs. They were quite willing to help and advise on any requests, but also respected our desire for privacy. Because this is a part time rental, it had a very comfortable "lived-in" feel, which was quite nice compared some more typical rentals that are often filled with cheap, tacky, or mismatched furnishings. The location is nicely secluded, but close enough to Castle Rock and Denver (Highlands Ranch) to quickly get to anything you need. It worked well for us having to balance activities in both Colorado Springs and Denver during our trip. The only negative point is that there is virtually no cell phone reception on the property. This was mitigated by the unlimited use of the phone to make both local and long distance calls out, but because outside calls are redirected to the owners other property, it created problems for people trying to reach us. We reverted to using email via the free wifi for most of our communications. Some people might consider this a positive point to be "off the grid" while on vacation. I would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a secluded retreat with full amenities and time to enjoy everything it has to offer. I will be looking to return in the future.
Owner response:Thank you so much for your kind words. We hope you'll return.
