Coral Villas was beautiful. A great pool with views of the ocean. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The place was quiet and relaxing. it was nice to walk the beach or get picked up from the dock to scuba dive at the reef. Having the grocery store close was also a huge bonus.Owner response: We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Coral Caye Villa! We will be sure to pass your comments on to our Management Company and Staff! We look forward to hosting you again in future! Sincerely Max & Debi Coral Caye Villa

Beautiful place, but we were at the mercy of overpriced locals who offered the only way out to access the water delights just 100 yards off shore. It is too dangerous to swim because of boat traffic (best local transportation route.) A kayak should absolutely be available to do some close reef fishing and snorkeling.Owner response: We are so happy you found the villa and surroundings to your liking. We are currently looking into purchasing a kayak for the villa and in the interim are working with our management company to provide the ability to rent a kayak at a reasonable price from a local business. We look forward to the opportunity to host you again in future Warm regards Max & Debi

We had a great stay at Coral Caye Villa. The villa is well suited for 2 couples with plenty of privacy in the bedroom arrangement. The on site staff were courteous and helpful. The villa met all our expectations - it was clean and well maintained. The owner was very helpful before our trip and the property manager responded quickly to any questions that arose. Our group liked to cook most meals at home and the kitchen was well equipped for doing so. We hired a fishing/snorkelling guide (right next door) several times and we were able to catch and then eat barracuda and snapper for dinner. The little grocery store that is located behind the villa was very useful as the next nearest store is 4 miles away. The only drawback to this villa is the fact that you really can't swim in the sea in the front of the villa. This is the case with most of Ambergris and is not unique to this villa. If you are planning a trip to Ambergris this is a great place to stay but be sure to budget for a golf cart to go into San Pedro and fishing/snorkelling trips by boat to enjoy the amazing reef.Owner response: We are so thrilled that you enjoyed your time at Coral Caye Villa! We will be sure to pass your comments onto our staff, management company and the owners of Mata Grande Groceries! We look forward to hosting you again in the future!

The People at Coral Caye were on top of it, but easy going, always available and helpful. The grounds were kept clean and lovely despite a bit of a windy week. The Villa itself was exactly what it appears to be in the photos, no disappointment there at all.It had everything we needed, comfortable beds, internet, phones, book that contained instructions for Villa's electronics, suggested opportunities and recommendations, etc., games to play, books to read, and a lovely hammock to while away the hours upon. The grocery behind the Villa couldn't have been more convenient nor the people friendlier. We're not sure Ambergris, Belize itself is our favorite Island of the Caribbean, although the reef was the best I've visited, we hit it at a very windy time and I prefer a sand covered beach. Reginey and Chris of Coral Divers were terrific and we used their services mostly, our teenage boys really enjoyed the fishing trip, although the cookout was a little disrupted by the wind and some rain, didn't bother our boys so much as mom and dad, :>)... We definitely recommend Coral Caye Villa if you want to visit Ambergris, and if you want to visit the Mayan Ruins you might want to stay in Belize a day or two first so as not to spend so much time traveling back and forth to the Island.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: We are so pleased to learn that your stay was everything your were hoping it would be and that the Guest Information book was helpful! We will be sure to pass your comments on to our management team, our caretakers, Coral Divers and also to Jason and Mandy at Mata Grande Groceries with a big thank you! We look forward to hosting you again! Warm regards Max & Debi

When we arrived at the San Pedro airport we were greeted by a host of friendly folks, within minutes Armando arrived and packed us up in his minivan. He made sure to ask us about stopping at the local market to pick up some supplies, good choice to do this. After the market he took us to his cousin who had the boat, which would get us to our final destination. We were all glassy eyed and smiling while taking that short boat ride to our Villa. We still weren't quite sure what to expect, then we pulled up to the dock and waiting on us were two young men waiting to take our bags to the Villa, at this point I new we made a good choice picking this place. The Villa was in excellent shape just like the pictures provided in the VRBO. What the pictures couldn't provide was the breath taking view from the balcony of the Villa (Amazing). The inside of the Villa was very well taken care of, the furniture was very high quality, heavy, durable. Make sure you read the house instructions via a book on the coffe table in the living room, it provide valuable information on the house, and excursions provided by the locals. The Mata grocery store is directly behind the Villas, this is a blessing for sure, they can provide anything from a soda, chips, candy, gum, chicken but they are a little more pricey than picking up things from town. We rented a golf cart for 2 days which was pretty expensive because you almost don't need one, the other 5 days we split a cart with another group staying at the Villa next door, very good idea. The person for excursions is Ginnie he has a place about 50 yds north and is always ready to take you out. If you are looking for fast pace night life this isn't for you but if you want a week of relaxation this is the place to go. We loved it, we recommed it, we will be going back. Lastly, Max/Debi the owners were so very helpful with emails before we left. Mary/Mel with Caye Management were just as helpful via email and once we got there they were just a phone call away. We loved it..Thanks again..Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
Owner response: We are so pleased to learn that you stay was everything your were hoping it would be! Armando, our caretakers, Abdiel and Adil and Mary and her team do a great job for us and we will be sure to pass your comments on to them with a big thank you! We look forward to hosting you again! We had a great stay at Caye Villas! With two master bedrooms, it was the perfect floorplan for two couples. We tried several restaurants within walking distance and others in town and were very satisfied with the food. Caye Management, Tropic Ferry, and the homeowner were all very helpful setting up the trip and giving us tips that helped make our stay enjoyable. To round out what would have been a great vacation anyhow, we won the Chicken Drop contest in town on Thursday night! Overall, everthing was as advertised or better. Looking forward to a return next year.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We are thrilled to learn that you enjoyed the Villa and the island! San Pedro town is a unique and fun little town to visit and we're happy to learn that you had a chance to take in the atmosphere and explore it. And congrats on winning the Chicken Drop contest too! We look forward to hosting you again on future trips!

When we arrived to San Pedro our transportation to the house was already arranged for us. What a relief ! The house was just the way it was describe , increible view, beautiful appointed home and inmaculated , flowers on the table and a much needed welcoming basquet with coffe and wine . There is a store behind the property that is a God send, but be advise that everything in Belize is sockining expensive . We rented a golf cart for our two week stay and drove to San Pedro to buy groceries, still expensive but much better than at Mata Grande (name of the store). The restaurants are also expensive but Mata Grande has a great BBQ on the weekends that is reasonable and delicious . The grounds are lucious and cleaned every day. The care takes are extremely solicitous and Angela will do the laundry for you, now that's what a call a vacation! We called Armando to take us fishing and snorkeling and they cooked whatever we caught that day for us,it was delicious and a lot of fun. Be advised that there is a tremendous amount of garbage all along the beaches and even in the ocean whenever you walk away from any private propety. The water is crystal clear and of perfect temperature. All in all it was a great home and a good experience , the snorkeling and the ocean were exceptional and we were very happy for two weeks.Owner response: We are so happy to learn that you enjoyed the villa, the grounds and the service from Mary and her team, Angela, Armando and his team and our caretakers! We are pleased to let you know that the island has begun a beach clean up initiative for the areas that are not occupied and it has been very successful to date! We look forward to the opportunity to host you again! Warm regards Max & Debi

Spent New Years 2011/2012 and a week at Coral Caye Villa. A beautiful spot to ring in the new year with friends. House was clean and comfy. A beautiful view to wake up to every morning. Pool was great. Beach was clean and well-kept - could walk for miles (and felt safe...and don't think I wore shoes once)! A great location to access other things (excursions, bars, restaurants, etc.). Easy to book and owner + management were extremely helpful to arrange accommodations + travel. Would definitely consider staying there again!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.
Owner response: We are so happy to learn that you loved the Villa and the island as much as we do and that your vacation was so enjoyable! We look forward to hosting you again on your next trip to La Isla Bonita!

We have been to many resorts in the Dominican - Cuba - Panama, ect. This was the first time we rented a Villa for a two week getaway. The property was as beautiful as presented on the owners website. The Palm Trees - bushes and flowers were amazing and the view of the Caribbean Sea will take your breath away. Every day we were able to relax in the pool and then go for a swim in the Sea.We rented a golf cart to be able to go into San Pedro for shopping and dinner's and found the people very friendly and helpful. From lunch in town to dinner on the beach the restaurants and the food were excellent. If you like fishing you can charter a boat and experience the pleasure of a very assorted catch off the Reef which you can watch every morning as you have coffee on the upper deck. Over all it has been the best vacation we have ever experienced and it is our dream to go back as soon as we can. We suggest you try Mickeys Restaurant in town, Fido's on the beach and the Palapa Bar on the beach for a great time and a good drink on the way home.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
Owner response: We are so happy to learn that you enjoyed your time on Ambergris Caye. It was our sincere pleasure to be able to host you and we look forward to having you back again soon!

As many times as I have been to Ambergris Caye, I've never felt as comfortable, well taken care of, or pampered as I did at Coral Caye Villa! This is a beautiful home with every amenity you could ask for - complete and efficient kitchen, beautiful bedrooms with large baths and plenty of storage. The deck out in front provides a view of the ocean that is spectacular, and the pool area is always sparkling clean and very private. Having the small store behind the villa is a big help, as they can provide any essentials needed for a comfortable visit. Satellite TV and internet service helps to keep you connected to your own world events (if that's important to you when you're on vacation!), and the services provided by the wonderful caretaker, Amin, in helping to set up fishing, diving and adventure tours make your stay even easier. There is no question that can't be answered by the Villas' on site caretaker. Maid and laundry services provided by a trusted island native are certainly an appreciated luxury. I love the neighborhood, the villa and the people of Caye Villas. I'll be back soon, and I can't imagine staying anywhere else!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
Owner response: We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Coral Caye and will be sure to pass our thanks to Amin and Angela for taking such good care of you. They and Mary's team at Caye Management are true gems and do a wonderful job of making sure our guests are comfortable and enjoy their stay. We look forward to hosting you again!

We chose this house for 2 reasons ~ the pool and the fact that it had 2 master bedrooms, both with king size beds ~ we weren't disappointed!!!! The area was quiet yet accessible; the MataGrande grocery store was just behind the house and convenient for those forgotten yet necessary items, i.e. more Belikin beer and a candy bar! The grounds were meticulously maintained by Amin, who also arranged for our golf cart and our snorkeling/fishing/Caye Caulker expedition. Our week was relaxing and fun, certainly enhanced by our trips on the golf cart! The house had everything we needed.Recommended for: Age 55+
Owner response: We are so pleased to learn that you enjoyed your stay at Coral Caye Villa and hope to have you back as our guests soon. We will be sure to thank Amin for helping to make your stay enjoyable and pass on your comments to him!

We stayed at the Coral Caye Villa for 2 weeks, the later part of January. The villa was just as advertised....very nicely decorated, spacious rooms, TV, internet, basic cooking supplies, etc. The grounds on the property were outstanding thanks to all the attention from Amin, the caretaker. He was always working around the property and was a wealth of information on restuarants, things to do, renting golf carts, etc. We did rent a golf cart for the first week but decided against it for the second week as the bumpy roads were just a bit too much to take on a daily basis....instead we bought more groceries from the Mata Grande Grocery store across the road and walked up and down the beach to a few other restuarants for lunch and dinner....the location of the grocery store was terrific for getting soda and beer and rum and basic supplies...and about half the time we were there, a local man came to the grocery store and grilled chicken and lobster and fish and served simple lunches with rice and beans....We ate $9 lobster lunches at least 5 times!!! The villa seemed a bit remote at first but we soon got used to it and spent alot of time just walking the beach, reading at the pool, etc. We did use the water taxi service the second week which was fun. We took a tour and snorkled with the sharks and rays and also did a bit of snorkling off one of the piers north of the villa....we used one of the kayaks and paddled out to the barrier reef....overall, our stay was very relaxing, the accomodations were great, Amin was a gem of a caretaker and the owners should be so happy to have him around to mingle with guests and we highly recommend Coral Caye Villas.....Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: We are very happy to hear you enjoyed your vacation at Coral Caye. We will be certain to pass you comments and our thanks to Amin. He's a true gem and does a wonderful job of taking care of our guests. We look forward to hosting you again someday!

We visited Belize for Christmas with our grown children. The entire experience was wonderful! Mary at the Management Company was very easy to deal with. She was always available by email or phone. Armando's water taxi service was fantastic. He took us to the market before we went out to the house. He also made a night run to pick up our daughter from the airstrip the same night! Amin, the property manager was so kind. He answered any questions we may have had and was very personable. The home's listing on VRBO was accurate. It was extremely clean with all the amenities listed. I must have sent 30 emails to Deborah about the accommodations and she was so helpful. If we return to San Pedro, we would definitely stay at Coral Caye Villas! Thank you for all you did for us!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
