We enjoyed our stay here. It is wonderfully decorated and cozy. There is plenty of space to spread out with spacious bedrooms. The amenities with the house are terrific. The house is very close to the beaches at Sandy Hook. We enjoyed the convenience of catching the ferry nearby and going into NYC. It worked out very well. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet retreat that is very close to the shore.

We loved staying here. The house was very clean and very well stocked. The owner is very responsive and ready to give great information about the area. This is a big house, perfect for a family. The house backs up into a small trail area which was great for the kids. There is even a swing set in the garden. What a great place. What a find. It has a perfect location close to everything. I highly recommend this house!!!

Got everything promised and more. Rooms were larger than expected. Plenty of hot water. Plenty of parking. Large capacity washing machine. Dishwasher. Very comfortable beds. Plenty of blankets and quilts. AC works very well. Owner was professional, but in a friendly and cooperative manner. We were very comfortable. House was very clean. There are plenty fo good restaurants within a short drive. Don't miss exploring Sandy Hook intensely. Historical interest is old fort. Great ocean beach. Good fishing.

What a wonderful home. As soon as we walked in we felt very comfortable. The listing photos don't do it justice. The home has an open floor plan that accommodated all seven of us very nicely. The home was very clean, nicely decorated and everything needed was available. The home is located on a private, quiet setting and only minutes from the beaches and attractions. The manager, Diane, was very helpful with suggestions of where to eat, attractions to see and shopping options. I recommend eating at the Memphis Pig Out and going to The Twin Lighthouses, Sandy Hook and The Pier Village. We would definitely return if given the opportunity. We highly recommend this vacation home to anyone with a family.

This is a lovely house that makes you feel right at home as soon as you walk through the door. It is well appointed and decorated in a manner to make you feel relaxed and comfortable. Pricewise it is excellent value for money and you get a lot for your Buck. The landlady lives only 5 minutes away and is only too willing to help you with local knowledge and is very pleasant to deal with. The property is at the end of the street in a quiet area. We travelled from the UK and would stay there again if we are ever in the area. Mike Val Karen and Darren UK

My family and I were travelling over for a surprise 40th birthday party. I contacted Diane to find out how close her property was to the venues we needed to be at. She couldn't have been more helpful in answering all my emails and when we arrived the house was better than we expected. The property is in a very quiet location which is fantastic if you are suffering the jet lag and had everything we needed for an extremely enjoyable and relaxing stay. You do need a car to get around but again Diane does make this clear but the house is so central (approx 10 mins) to most of the attractions in the area. All in all I would recomend this property and we will most definately contact Diane again when arranging our next visit

For us, this vacation was a trip down memory lane while introducing the grandkids to the east coast for the first time. The house was exactly as pictured. Very comfortable for all ages - our group ranged from 8 to 82! Diane was awesome - very easy to deal with and very helpful. She always had time to answer questions. The house is situated in a lovely little neighborhood that is very quiet. The location is great - easy drive to everything you need. The ferry to NY is a must!! Worth every penny of the cost. Sandy Hook beaches are still amazing and the lighthouses are worth the stop. Groceries or dinner for delivery is a snap. The only reason we are not rating it 5 stars is the cleanliness. If we are going to pay an additional cleaning fee (something we've never done with any other property we've rented from on this site), we expected the house to be cleaner then in was (dirt/cobwebs around floor boards, ceiling..ect...) However, with that said Diane did tell us that her cleaning girls did not show. Everything that needed to be truly clean was - bedding, dishes, toliets, showers..... We would still go back - without the cleaning fee. The house made for the perfect vacation home.

We rented the house for a week in august. Wow! Great house: enough space for all of us (4 adults and 6 children, super clean, close to all services and air conditioned (it was hot outside). Homeowner really helpful and suggested lots of great activities. Dont miss: the ferry to NYC, the manu beaches (sandy hook, sea bright, etc.), the twin lights and al. We didn't miss them and had a blast! And lastly, did I mention the great house? Pat

Our original stay in May was AWESOME! We enjoyed ourselves so much that we booked an entire's week stay in July. The house came with a pass to Sandy Hook which we took advantage of. The beach was great! There is bike trail out of Atlantic Highlands along Sandy Hook Bay and the views are spectacular. We found a great Cuban restaurant called "Havana Tropical" - Great food and atmosphere! This house is great, close to the shore and the rent MUCH more reasonable than the beach homes in the area. Highly recommend staying here. We will come back!

Thank you so much. The house waqs spacious and very clean. Relatives came in from England and we all had a great time. We went to sandy hook and it was hot(we could only stay 2 hrs one day),but very accessible and a wonderful place. The ferry access to New York was outstanding. It was 5 mins. away and only 35 mins to wall street. What a wonderful way to see the city. We also went to see relatives who lived within a 30 minute drive. The house was cool and everything you needed was there. I would be very happy to rent this house again, and highly recommend it to anyone. If you like good pizza, try first st. on the main street. On the deck was a nice restaurant and bahrs is also very good. The owner was easily accessible and very nice and courteous. A very memorable vacation. Phil Hausburg

Our family had an absolutely fantastic time at this home. It was wonderfully decorated, very spacious, and everything went smoothly with the owner. This property is at the end of a very quiet wooded lane, but is only a very short drive to the beach, shopping, and restaurants. The owner left very clear notes to run items in the home, suggestions for eating out and for local attractions, and was completely helpful and trustworthy in every manner. We could not have asked for a more enjoyable experience with this rental.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay this spring! Plenty of open, “woodsy” land to enjoy and relax in. We really relished the homes privacy and it’s joining access to the Lenape Woods Nature Preserve. Great hiking/biking trails all around with easy access to the shore and beach. Awesome views of Sandy Hook and the NYC skyline. There are great restaurants in the local area! The house is very clean and well maintained; offering excellent amenities! Highly recommended for a few weeks or even a quick weekend getaway. We are looking forward to our return this summer!

Our church rented the home for a leadership retreat and had a group of 7 stay at the house. We absolutely loved our stay! The sleeping accommodations were comfortable, and the living space was great for our team meetings during the day. The outdoor scene is very quiet and just a few minutes from the water. I highly recommend this place

Enjoyed stay in well kept home in woodsy setting and a 5 minute drive to beautiful Sandy Hook Beach, ideal during week when not crowded. Near many fine restaurants, country roads with stately homes, and convenient to Manhattan commuter transportation. Tucked in a very quiet neighbourhood, this is a prime location to relax, explore and create great family memories. For 2 parents with 2 teenagers we had loads of room. We were able to take in the Sandy Hook Island for playing in the ocean waves, climbing an historical lighthouse and just enjoy quiet nature ~ even pulled out the fishing rods. (We did do this on the weekdays so crowds were minimal). The area has some great restaurants (recommend Bahrs Landing Seafood with majaritas on the outdoor patio), and a moderate mini putt ($5 Tuesdays), all nestled in very quaint town with all the conveniences at hand. Family dinners at the dining room tables were as quick and as easy to do as at home. A must do is to hop on the SeaQuest Ferry and go to New York City for a day. At $40 round trip (adult ticket) it is a great way to get to NYC from the Atlantic Highlands (a 5 minute drive from the house and free parking at the dock). We managed to walk along Wall St., take in a Broadway show, climb the Rockfeller Center (GE) Building to see the city from 72 floors high - view of central park and a sense of touching the Empire State building thru the camera lens, and then off to Ground Zero. We did alot of walking, managed the subway and took the thrill ride of the yellow cab. And bedded back down that night on quiet Walnut St. This is a prime location to make this all happen! If your family is looking for a comfortable clean home to be your landing zone while you go exploring the Atlantic Highland area, this one hits the mark. I'm afraid that the education element sneaked in on the kids and they actually learnt lots while thinking it was all about the beach! These add-ons were major benefits for us: - Linens and towels provided - Well organized kitchen - Sandy Hook beach pass - Tourist phamplets on hand - Wireless Internet Access - Air Conditioning - Washer/Dryer - BBQ Thanks Diane for your friendly assistance to make our stay very relaxing and enjoyable. Your property was exactly as listed!, Cheers!

It was our first time to Sandy Hook / Atlantic Highlands area and if we ever go back, we will definitely contact the owner and stay here again. We enjoyed the privacy of the home and all the amenities it provided. It was like home away from home and none of the noise you get from other people when staying in a Hotel or Condo. It is very close to the Beach and has many Historic Sites to visit with beautiful views and lots of History. The Seastreak Boat ride to New York was amazing and the Restaurants were great. The kids had a blast at the Keansburg Amusement Park. I must admit we adults did as well. The only complaint that we had was, we wished there was a Pool or Hot Tub. BUT, that would not keep us away. The owner was pleasant, easy going, and very accommodating. We highly suggest staying here if you want a wooded, private home to stay in which is close to the Beach and many other activities.

We had a very pleasant experience. The home is beautiful and the setting very restful. Everything was very clean and well kept. The Sandy Hook National Park beaches are 10 minutes away and very nice. Fort Hancock (part of the park) was also an educational experience for all of us. The children loved the free lighthouse tour. A grocery store is very close and Target & KMart were both a little further away but easy to find. We had some wonderful seafood at Jaycee's a restaurant on the wharf. I would highly recommend this vacation property. Activities are as much or as little as you would like to do!

As we turned the corner onto Walnut St., I noticed how the road deadens into the trees. When the house appeared, I was amazed at it's beauty and size. "Could this really be our vacation rental?", I asked whoever wanted to listen. I couldn't get to the door fast enough, leaving my sons to unpack the van themselves! After walking thru the threshold, you're forced to look up upon its beautiful foyer with its glistening chandelier and loft which leads to the second bathroom and four bedrooms. To the left of the front door is the furnished dining room. Walking by, you notice the first floor full bathroom and the door to the basement which holds a washing machine and dryer. To the right of the front door is the TV room (with cable and internet) that opens up into the entertainment area, with a fireplace, and the fully furnished kitchen. Beyond this area, there was a patio with a working gas grill. Now that I described the home IN DETAIL, I must say that I felt VERY comfortable staying there. Its location could not have been more convenient to Seastreak (water taxi to NYC, etc.), Sandy Hook (you MUST see the military ruins and tour the OLDEST Lighthouse in America), Sea Bright (the beach), Twin Lights (lighthouses & the highest point on the coastal east coast), the restaurants or the grocery stores. Our visit consisted of my husband and I and our three late teen sons. Normally, we would be walking ontop of each other, but here we had our own bedroom TV's and plenty of well used space due to its open floor plan. It was clean and properly furnished. All you need is the groceries. We will definitely stay here again, and I would recommend this home to anyone who appreciates wildlife, solitude and nature trails beyond your backyard. The photos provided in the ad does not do it justice!

Our group of 5 adults stayed at this house for 3 days. The house is very big and nice: clean, lots of rooms for privacy, and very well set up and equipped (great kitchen, washing machine and dryer in the basement, nice patio). The setting is also nice: a quiet neighborhood with pretty gardens and trees. It was a wonderful place for a family get together. The house comes with a Sandy Hook pass that we used many times; it was easy to spend the day at the beach and the evenings at the house. The owner was very helpful and easy to contact.

We recently stayed 3 nights at this property for a family function. There was 5 adults and 2 children in our party. The house was spacious and very kid friendly. We had two children under the age of 2 and the house worked great for them. Very easy for them to run around on the lower level of the house since the setup is so open. We also enjoyed a BBQ off the back deck. House is secluded near the forest preserve and was very private. The beach was a short drive away. The owner was very easy to work with, she was responsive and even checked in to make sure everything was ok. We would consider staying at this property again when we come back to the area.
