Our home offers 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths. A huge screened in porch on the lake side. A 3rd story deck off master suite with fabulous views of the lake. 2 car garage, large boathouse with multi level sun deck. Boathouse has electric boat lift suitable for boats up to 22'/ 4000 lbs. Beach is natural pea gravel with gently increasing depth of water, safe even for small children. The entire house, inside and out, has been recently painted. A new roof was installed in Jan 2010. Very quiet and secluded with almost no street traffic. Excellent area for fishing, known as the Crappie Capital of the World. Also great for bass, catfish, and bream. There are 5 waterfalls within a 30 minute drive. One is a short boat ride from the house. There are many state parks within a 30 minute drive that offer hiking and sight seeing.

We have stayed in several rental homes. I always find when there I'm missing a few things. The following will be provided for you while you are here. A vast CD collection. Dozens of movies. A trash bag per day. A dishwashing tablet per day. A trunk filled with games, crayons, sidewalk chalk, bubbles. Salt and pepper. A very large book collection. Extra blankets and sheets. A notebook filled with activities located within an hour or so of the house. A TV guide. We also have beach towels and extra beach chairs for you to use. There's also a huge umbrella on top of the boathouse. We try to make your stay as easy as possible. Looking forward to hearing from you.

I can't remember the exact time frame we stayed at this beautiful home, but I can tell you that my family had one of the most enjoyable, relaxing experiences ever. The home was very comfortable, well kept, and the most fabulous views you could ever ask for. We were fortunate to have a boat and the large dock was wonderful for both swimming and fishing. Again, if you are looking for some serenity, this is the place to take your family. Stock up on groceries and enjoy. Thanks again, Caropino Family

My family and I enjoyed our stay very much. The pictures accurately represent the home. The refrigerator in the garage was a huge bonus for extra bags of ice and drinks. The screened porch was so nice when it was raining, we all played cards and had a great time in spite of the weather. The sidewalk to the water is another wonderful addition. My 9 yr old had a great time skipping rocks and fishing. The water is so clean and a perfect depth for swimming right from the dock. The boathouse has a nice supply of water toys, skis, floats and a great place to leave your things until the next day. We made wonderful memories and absolutely plan to return again. Thank you Tracy for your quick responses to our needs and questions while we were there!! We LOVE your home, thank you for sharing :)

My husband and I traveled from Arkansas to visit my Northeast Alabama family at this lake house. The house was very nice and suited our needs for a fun and relaxing time. We rented a pontoon from Chestnut Bay Resort, which was only a mile from the home. We especially enjoyed taking the boat to the sandbar for easy swimming and it was great for the kids. The sandbar is just to the left of the property. The house is Conveniently located on the deeper side of the lake and only a few minutes from grocery shopping. The extra fridge in the garage was a great help, and there were plenty of sheets and towels in the house. We especially loved the master suite on the top floor, complete with extra large closet, restroom, and a third floor balcony. I understand the owners have been away for a while and I hope they will get back here soon to do some of the maintenance needed. The house was clean, but the exterior needs a little bit of tlc. We hung out under the trees near the boathouse or on the nice large deck of the boathouse every day. The beach area was nice and pebbly, not muddy. It's a good idea to throw in some water shoes if you're tender-footed though! Also, dining in the screened in porch was wonderful.

My family and I stayed at this vacation home on Weiss Lake and found it to be not as was described in brochure. The outside of home was covered in spider webs and was totally overgrown on the right side of home. Upon entering the home we found cob webs coming from the ceiling and dust on the walls 1/4 inch thick. The microwave was greasy & filthy, utensils dirty, no useable skillet ( one on site was chipped & battered with flakes of non-stick material falling off ), couch had wet spot (urine) and smelled with a flea infestation, pillows in upstairs had yellow stains (looks like some type of secretions or other bodily fluids), toilets were dirty with a pink rings of bacteria, downstairs shower curtain had filth with mold. Now we go to the boat house. It has also seen it's better days, inside was full of spider webs and hornets. She was thoughtful enough to leave (2) cans of spray.Boards need replacing and steps on stairs are needing to be replaced as well..Basically if it was not for the $19.99 charcoal grill my family and I would have starved or go broke eating out every night. Most rentals have an ample supply of towels, paper towels, garbage bags, dish washing detergent, pillows and hand towels. In this place, most were missing or it was a very limited supply. This property has not been maintained like it should be and should not have been listed as prime property.

Lovely home with a great view of the lake. It was quiet and peaceful with very little traffic, but only a short drive to shopping. Everything was just as described. Really liked the open floor plan, especially when cooking. Liked the extra refrigerator in the garage too. When we had a question, Tracy was quick to respond. Our family enjoyed fishing from the dock, even after dark, as it was lighted. There were lawn chairs in the boat house for us to use. Most of all, we were really impressed with the people who live in the Leesburg/Centre area. Everyone we met were just so nice and friendly. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Too bad the week flew by!

Owner response: One of the things we always loved about living on the lake was the light traffic. It was always so peaceful. The extra refrigerator is great when entertaining lots of guests at the lake. My husband did a great job with the layout of the downstairs. We loved having everyone all together in the wide open area. Fishing at night is the best. I'm glad the electrician had been there a few weeks earlier to fix the lights on the boathouse. I'm also glad to hear everyone was showing their true Southern hospitality. Come back to stay with us anytime.

We absolutely loved this lake house!! Everything was so open and roomy with all the modern conveniences!! The view was incredible and it was such a peaceful place to stay. Had such a great time fishing on the dock and watching the sunset from the screened porch and dock. We were with our two teenage children and the accommodations were perfect for a family or 4-6. Even though we felt as if we were in our own little hideaway, it was only a short drive to many stores and eateries. Great open kitchen for family dinners!! Can't say enough about the great communication and timely responses from the owners! Tracy was a real sweetheart and we felt as if we were staying at a friend's house!! I would highly recommend this rental to anyone who would like to just get away from it all in style!!

This home looked just as shown in pictures. Location was exact. Property was clean. Owner was extremely helpful in answering my millions of questions in the weeks leading up to our trip. Our family of six, with four children ranging in age from 15 to 5, had a wonderful long weekend. Our dog LOVED this place too. Our beds were very comfortable, the screened porch, pleasant view, and sounds of water splashing on shore were wonderful. Boat ramp and dock with lift were convenient features. Walk to water from house was easy. Loved napping on the dock's sun deck. Lake was easily navigable and not too crowded for us to tube and ski. We went hiking and driving on a scenic route about 20 miles from the house in the foothills of the Appalachian Mntns. which offered lovely scenery too. Hope to go back again soon!

My husband and I and our 2 grown children stayed at the lake house in July. It was a very good experience. The house was large, clean, and accurately represented in the listing. There was alot of information from the owners about boat launching, shopping, and attractions. It was very peaceful and quiet. Our son slept every night on the screened porch, which was like a "tree house" - very neat. It was a perfect location for our vacation - we brought our boat to fish and ski and kayaks to paddle around in the lake - and what a treat whenever we got hot, to go "jump in the lake". We are avid cyclists, and rode the near by Chief Ladiga/Silver Comet trails, and the guys rode thier road bikes through all the hills. We hiked in DeSoto State Park, and along the Canyon Rim Road - awesome scenery! Some surprising activites included a double feature at the local Drive In theatre in Centre ( a first for our children), and hiking the "Little Rock City" rock formations, and riding mountain bike trails there, and golfing at Twin Bridges in Gadsden. And we never had to travel over 45 minutes to get to anything! It was wonderfully exhausting.

We really enjoyed our stay on Lake Weiss. We loved the open space of the great room. The screened in porch was our favorite area to hang out at night with the sounds of the water. The 3rd story deck was great for drinking my morning coffee. Everything was clean and in well order. Fishing from dock was so much fun. Everything we needed for our stay was provided... trash bags, toilet paper, salt, utensils, dishwashing detergent, paper towels, plastic cups, beach towels, plenty of lawn chairs. The bunk beds are adorable and the speciality paint was beautiful. We can't wait to get back for another stay.

                  Year Purchased: 1993

About the owner: Hi. We are Houston and Tracy Farmer. We have a 19 year old daughter and a 16 year old daughter . We love living here on the lake, but due to a change in jobs, we will be moved to Chattanooga, TN. We are now living in Indianapolis, IN. We can't bear to part with our house, but we hate for it to sit empty. So we have decided we would be willing to share it and the good times it affords to others. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we have.

                  Why the Owner Chose Leesburg:
Very close to Interstate 59, between Chattanooga, TN, & Birmingham, AL. Located within an hour and half of Chattanooga, Birmingham, and Atlanta. Located on a very desirable area of Lake Weiss. Our lake is very drought resistant, maintaining full pool all summer long.
