We enjoyed one of our best vacations ever! The house is beautiful yet extremely cozy and comfortable. It is very well maintained and included everything we needed. It is even nicer in person than the pictures reflect. The owners are extremely helpful in answering questions and make great tour guides.Everything they recommended we see and do was tops. The new Lake City Cafe has great food and is a must. Get there when they open as they fill up quickly. Bruno's is another great place to eat. It's more of a fine dining experience and has food that would be top notch even in a large city. Go early in your visit so you can enjoy the leftovers later at the cabin. The portions are quite large. There are many great drives and hikes that allow you to take in the breath-taking scenery. I especially enjoyed seeing the deer that roamed freely through the neighborhood like cats. We were not familiar with Lake City before this trip. It is a beautiful place without the trappings of the typical tourist town. It was truly one of our best vacations ever. I highly recommend the town and this cabin. Our stay at this home was beyond our expectations. It was a gorgeous, comfortable, very well-mainted retreat with all the extra ameneties. Beautifully decorated, we had everything at our desposal to have a relaxing vacation in the most lovely home away from home. The deer wandered onto the property daily, an unexpected treat, and we enjoyed walking to church on Sunday morning which only took very few minutes. Mocha Moose was our coffee "fix" every morning and we enjoyed the "Soda Fountain" also. We recommend this rental very highly and hope to return next year. Owners and management could not have been more friendly and helpful.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

We just got back from Lake City about a week ago(August 2012). We were celebrating a friend's 40th birthday with a "guy's trip" which equates to lots of fly-fishing and relaxation. We all had seen this property on-line and were not disappointed in what we found when we arrived. The cabin is incredible . . a perfect Lake City location and so guest-friendly. Every possible "need" was met by the property and the property manager. The cabin was very clean, comfortable and open . . I really wouldn't change a thing. Also, the communication and transactions with the property owners were very easy, and they were always very responsive and thorough. Looking forward to our next visit to Lake City and this great cabin . . and more trout. Thank you thank you thank you for opening your BEAUTIFUL home to our family! Our children and granddaughter had the most wonderful experience of staying here for the week and it has sparked our imaginations and fantasies of moving to this wonderful little town. Your home was the perfect home away from home as we had every luxury and amenity one could ever need. Your attention to details, down to the smallest, are what make this place so special! We loved the gazebo by the river, many times throughout the day, the mountain bikes are awesome and a fun addition, the wonderful gourmet kitchen is inviting, the cozy living area and office were comfort to our tired bodies at the end of our adventurous days! WE LOVE LAKE CITY and now, MOUNTAIN MEMORIES! Better look out ya'll...Papa is talking about renting it for 3 weeks next year! WOOT!!! - Thanks again! My husband and I just spent a week at this cabin. It was wonderful. I highly recommend it for a couple with children. It is in the middle of Lake City, near the stores and coffee shops and near gorgeous mountain trails and fishing lakes and streams. We liked it so much we are renting it for the same week next year. Myself, along with my wife and a few friends rented the home for three nights in January. The rental process was great...we dealt directly with the owners and we had access to in town caretakers. The home is stunning. The photos do not do the property justice...really great home, with great service. Quite honestly, we were blown away. Just spent 9 delightful days in beautiful Lake City in one of the nicest "cabins" I have ever had the pleasure to stay in. Everything was so well thought out...wonderful amenities, well supplied and conveniently located! The views from the various windows....wonderful, especially after the snow made the landscape a winter wonderland. Completely enjoyable!!!! Owner response: Mid to late September is one of our favorite times to visit Lake City. The golden aspens are absolutely glorious then. Our favorite drive is up Henson Creek toward Capitol City (about 30 minutes one way). Be sure to take a good camera!

Beautiful cabin on the river within easy walking distance to all stores and restaurants in Lake City. Deer wondering and relaxing in the yard every day. Local landlords also big help if any questions at all. You won't be disappointed. Attention to every detail is taken care of. Alpine Loop is spectacular. Immaculate, stunningly beautiful house with great function awaits you in Lake City. Bring your whole family! We just experienced one of the best vacations ever in Lake City, CO. Super value for such a beautiful setting. The owners are caring, responsible and well informed. It has everything you need and more. Breathtaking sightseeing, fabulous restaurants and shopping just two blocks away. Lots of activities for children and teens. My family and I loved staying at the riverfront cabin. The cabin and surrounding property are stunning - it feels very secluded, and yet is just a short walk to town. The house was very nice and had everything provided that we needed. It was very clean and well kept. We enjoyed Lake City and hope to come back. The house is close enough to walk to most of the attractions in town. Our trip to Lake City was restful, relaxing, and refreshing. The cabin was clean, well stocked, and the photos do not do it justice - it's beautiful and located within walking distance from every eating establishment and shop in the town. The manager met us on time, answered all our questions, and called during the week to assure our needs were met. The town itself was delightful, filled with friendly people eager to share a story of local folklore, help with directions, or simply leave us alone to enjoy its charm. The trails around the county were truly beautiful and we wish we could have hiked more of them. We can't say enough about the trip and what a blessing it was to able to spend a week there - we will definately be back and book this cabin specifically!! This was our first time in Lake City and staying in this cabin was the perfect place. The cabin is beautifully decorated and had all of the conveniences of home. The layout of the cabin is a open design creating a relaxing atmosphere. The multiple decks were perfect for morning breakfast and afternoon reading. Being located on the river and surrounded by mountains the views were amazing. It is within walking distance to the eating establishments and shopping but still affords privacy. We enjoyed walking the trails close by and having our coffee every morning by the river. This is truly a place to visit and stay for a memorable vacation. We hope this cabin will be available upon our return to Lake City.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

To say this property exceeded our expectations would be an understatement. Everything about this accommodation was truly outstanding making for our best vacation yet in Lake City. The property is centrally located in Lake City and within walking distance to everything. This slice of heaven has remarkable views of the mountains as well as your own river frontage, not to mention offering the utmost in comfort and relaxation. The daily wildlife visits (deer) just off the back patio were an added bonus. The house was like home and the environs were outstanding. Location was perfect and provided access to every fourteener in the area within a short driving distance. Direct access to not only the river for trout fishing was immediate, and other trout streams on the Mesa were a short, scenic drive away. The mountain summits were what we went for, and Uncompahgre Peak was a "walk in the park" but challenging of course. Five fourteeners in seven days with a few short hikes in between were what we needed to leave the "heated fast lane" and get out to the San Juans and do what we would rather do in late summer. Olathe corn and game hens or the catch of the day with a nice glass of wine and talk of the spirit of the day was ours to enjoy while watching the deer browse the yards all around the well-structured log house. While we were able to read only half of the books we brought along in the privacy of the reading room, we spent time relaxing, talking about experiences of the day, and planning adventures for tomorrow. If you haven't been to Lake CIty, off the old Highway 50 byway, you should visit this town and stay here on the river. My Grandpa Frank rode horses in Lake CIty when I was a kid in the 1950's and said I should go there some day. He lived to be 90. We have been there several times and enjoy it more each time. The cabin easily accommodates what is advertised. It is easily the best place we could have stayed it, and we shopped then all. This was a great vacation house. We had a wonderful time and loved spending time on the back porch and in the gazebo. The house is in a great location and within walking distance to everything in town. Our son loved playing by the river every day. The house was beautiful and had everything we needed for a great vacation. Trying to make plans to go back next year. Would recommend this house to anyone. Lake CIty is a great mountain destination with a great small town vibe. Highly recommend the Alpine Loop if you have never had the chance to drive it.Did you find this review helpful? The perfect place in Lake CIty! We've been traveling to Lake CIty for years and know that we've finally found the perfect house. The interior is beautiful, and there's plenty of space for the whole family to relax. The decks and porches are great for enjoying the scenery and wildlife. The gazebo, just steps from the river, is the best place to relax with a nice bottle of wine. We loved this house and will be back every year. A mountain paradise! This property is amazing and by far surpassed our every expectation! My family and I have been traveling to Lake City, Colorado, for over 40 years, and we all agree this property is perfect in every way. It is within walking distance from the shopping district, eating establishments, recreation outlets, and new medical facility. For those of you that don't want to leave the "comforts of home," this property is for you. Its beautiful kitchen and master bedroom open up to a spacious deck overlooking the river. The loft and living areas make the perfect location for computer work, reading a book, or playing games. They have made every effort to assure you have everything you could possibly need. This is truly a Mountain Paradise for everyone in your group. Now that we have rented this property, we can't imagine staying anywhere else! This was a wonderful place to spend our family vacation. With the beautiful decor, accommodating design, multiple decks with breathtaking views, and top-of-the-line kitchen, we wouldn't have asked for more in a vacation home. Wonderful place to stay in Lake City! We have stayed in this home several times and have more than enjoyed the comforts it offers. Very good location in town to be able to walk, bike ride, sit by the river, view the mountains, etc. Close to all the stores, restaurants, and shops.
