The owner is a retired Fire Chief and part-time ski instructor in Park City, and he stays in his condo during his 7-10 day work assignments when he travels from Wisconsin. It is a home away from home for him, his wife, and family visitors.
The unit earned a "gold" rating when it was listed by a property management company, and has modern appliances with ice-maker, a new 32 inch flat screen HDTV, and new PREMIUM QUALITY LACROSSE QUEEN, EXTRA LONG SOFA BED WITH 7" MATTRESS! The KING BED is high-quality and NEW IN 2010. A programmable electronic touch-pad door lock provides security and convenience, allowing you to go directly to your unit and enter using your unique code-no check-in required.
A large, newly-renovated shared hot tub adjacent to the pool on the first floor is the perfect place to soothe muscles and share ski stories after a spectacular day in Utah's legendary snow, or after exploring the wonderful summer environment. The large outdoor pool is heated to 94 degrees during winter.
Ski boots can be worn to the mountain, as the FREE TRANSIT BUS picks you up a half block away and drops you off very close to the lifts at Deer Valley and Park City Mountain Resort, each about a 10-minute ride, and at the people-moving gondola at Canyons Resort. A boot dryer is supplied in the unit, as are a humidifier, vacuum cleaner, iron and ironing board.
The bus system is outstanding, with three different lines having stops, including an express route to downtown. Once you get to Carriage House from the airport via a shuttle van, a rental car is a very unnecessary expense. We are able to book the shuttle for you using our bulk ticket purchase account. At $33.30 per person each way, this is the best deal we know of.

Why the Owner Chose Carriage HouseWe chose Carriage House Unit 422 after looking at about 10 properties during my first season working as a ski instructor in Park City. We were impressed with the great location, affordability, and overall quality of the property. Virtually everything needed to enjoy a vacation in beautiful Park City is within walking distance: restaurants, grocery stores, liquor store, bagel shop, sports shops, and much more. With demand for our unit being significant, we added a second unit this year in May, and made it a near twin of this unit.
The Unique Benefits at this CondoThe unit is on the top (fourth) floor at the end of the hall, and the environment is thus nice and quiet. The laundry room is just two doors down. The free bus service, which has a stop a half-block away, eliminates any need for a car. The hot tub is large, and the outdoor pool is heated to 94 degrees throughout the winter. The free on-site WI-FI service is reliable and fast, and allows us to stay in contact via email and the internet. Great, affordable, family-friendly restaurants are nearby. The fully-equipped, modern kitchen allows us to easily prepare meals. A phone allows free local calls. A boot dryer is a wonderful convenience. Our second unit is on the third floor, just below this unit.
Red line stops here every 20 minutes and goes to Carriage House-5 minute ride after shopping-(8-10 minutes from Carriage House to Fresh Market on red line)
One of two stops within half block of our unit-the other is on the Poison Creek side of the building. The lime line stops right across from this one, and the red and yellow lines leave this spot. Lime goes to Canyons and Park City Resort, yellow is express to downtown, red to Park City Mountain Resort, liquor store, grocery stores.
El Chubasco is local's favorite Mexican Restaurant, cheap and plentiful.
White Dog boasts the best ski rental prices in town, Sammy's has a great menu, reasonable prices, and nice atmosphere. There is also a pizza place and Chinese restaurant-all are in "Park City Plaza."

My wife Chris, grown children, and I have skied together and enjoyed camping and other outdoor activities for many years. Having served as a municipal Fire Chief for 11 years of a 25-year career, I retired in 2005. I've been a certified professional ski instructor since 2001, and achieved a retirement dream in 2008 when I was hired to work a part-time, flexible holidays schedule in Park City. We searched for a nice, affordable condo and found exactly what we wanted in our Carriage House unit. We have made improvements to make it very comfortable for our family and friends, and enjoy making it available to visitors. We look forward to providing outstanding service to our guests. Just arrived after four wonderful days at the condo! We have been traveling and using VRBO for ~10 yrs and would rate this condo right at the top of our experience: King bed was very comfortable; Condo is just down the hall from the laundry room; CLEAN; 1/2 block from free transit/bus system throughout Park City - however, you were a short walking distances to all restaurants and shops; Felt very safe; Knew that if anything arose, we were a call/e-mail away from the owner who checked in with us via e-mail to confirm; There is a hide-a-bed in living room for convenience, but did not check it out - nice to know if there was family/guests or another couple. Chuck was absolutely correct - if you wanted, you could easily make it from the airport to condo and then get around without a car. For those that did not know, Park City Ski Resort has a chair lift that deposits people right down to Main Street - it is not unusual to see people walking up and down the street in ski/snowboard boots - Had a great time and we will be back - Thank you!!! -

We rented this condo for three weeks, it was perfect for our needs and was well maintained. The property description didn't give any false information. If anything it should brag a little more. The owners care about this property, and that you enjoy your stay in it. We highly recommend this unit and liked having the elevator instead of stairs. It's hard to get photos to show all the qualities of a living space and it's amenities but after several days it was easy to call this home. When we first booked we were concerned that we should have put up extra money to be closer to the ski areas and action. After arrival we knew we made the right decision, not only with this condo space and what came with it but the "close" shuttle system available within yards from our building entrance. It made everything close. One mile destinations like all three ski resorts, Park City Main St, museums, Olympic Park and so much more -- so close by bus! No hassle.We found excellent restaurants and saloons, groceries & shopping, movies, ski butlers, fitness center, prescription refill and a medical clinic in our back yard and very walkable. The well maintained sidewalks and fast snow removal made for easy walking, even in ski boots to the shuttle. What really impressed us were the people and how "nice" and "helpful" everyone was! Everywhere.

My wife and I stayed in this condo for two nights. The unit was very clean, nicely decorated and had all kitchen supplies you need. The king size bed was very comfortable and there was a nice queen size sofa bed in the living room. The kitchen had a new full size refrigerator and range and all the necessary pots/pans and kitchen utensils. A nice feature is the extra sink in the bedroom. The wireless internet worked fine. The location is excellent, bike trails nearby, within 1/10 of a mile of many restaurants and about 1/2 mile from City Park (tennis courts, playgrounds, ball fields). I would highly recommend this unit..

Chuck was beyond helpful and accurate in his description of the condo. It is exactly as he describes, and he sends a lot of detailed photos. He was incredibly communicative, friendly and thorough. Condo was very clean and cozy, with a huge bed in the master bedroom, a luxurious jetted tub and full kitchen. It is a small space, but perfectly outfitted. Best for harmonious families, as there isn't a lot of privacy or room to be alone. Awesome location in Park City with lots of amenities in walking distance. There is a gorgeous spa on the main floor of the building. I would recommend this mostly as a 'romantic getaway' kind of rental.
