Probably the most peaceful property I have ever rented! A beautiful view with plenty of grounds to walk around. We saw deer, fox and lots of birds from the porch. The only thing keeping me from giving this 5 stars is the "rustic" nature which makes cooking meals a little more like camping. Great proximity to hill country towns, too!Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Exactly what we wanted: secluded private cabin for two in a remote part of Hill Country where we could bring our two dogs. The cabin was well finished but did lack a stove or kitchen. No problem, just bring a Coleman stovetop to make breakfast. There is a charcoal grill onsite. The owners, David and Carol, were friendly and called us to make sure we settled in okay and asked if we had any questions. They were very hospitable, accommodating, and flexible during our stay. A great experience.Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway.

My beautiful girlfriend are from east of Dallas; we spent a great deal of time looking for that "just right get away" ..and let me tell you, we found it here in Comfort, Texas. The place is totally secluded with a charm that is unforgettable with nothing less than fantastic.....with plenty of romantic memories. We appreciate the help from David with all information he gave us, not to mention he had everything at the cabin for us already at check in. I would highly recommend for family, couples, or even someone who wants to escape the city life for awhile. ronnie/henriettaRecommended for: Pet owners, sightseeing, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This little cabin was perfect for our weekend. The owners thought of every little intimate detail to ensure guest have a pleasant stay. While only a few miles from major cities it seemed as though we were in a different country. I can't wait to get back....Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

My wife and I decided to remove ourselves from the city and stay at this wonderful little getaway. We are extremely appreciative of all the information Mr. & Mrs. Rich shared with us in regards to the material and craftsmanship of the cabin. It definitely added to the delight of our stay knowing so much history, thought, time, and consideration was given to it in its construction. We are thankful for their thoughfulness and conservationism in the wood reclaimed to create such a cozy cabin. Morning coffee on the porch and the starry nights are the best at the "Quien Save"!Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

A SPECIAL WEEKEND GETAWAY

This July my wife and I enjoyed the special amenities of this little Rustic Cabin located between Comfort and Sisterdale in the beautiful Teaxs hill country. From the comfort of the rocking chairs on the front porch we took in the views of the surrounding hills and country side. There is plenty of wildlife on the property. Many colorful birds, deer, fox and armadillo can be seen. A short hike down the hill led us to a large tank which holds catfish, perch and turtles which come to the surface when fed from the pier at one end of the tank. From the cabin we took a short drive to the small town of Sisterdale which was founded in 1847. We played free shuffle board at the local dancehall and after that, we headed down the street to the Sister Creek Winery for a tour and sampled their wine. A very short drive north from Sisterdale on FM 1376 took us to the town of Luckenbuch, Texas. There, we sat behind what once was the town post office under the shade of large oaks trees. We drank cold beer and listened to live country music and made some new friends. What a great time that was! The town of Fredericksburg is a little further up the road, about 12 miles or so and worth the drive. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, wine bars, art galleries and a historical museum to visit. There is always something going on in Fredericksburg. In the evenings from the porch of the cabin we would watched the sun slip behind the hills leaving shades of ever changing colors in the clouds. The smell of steaks cooking over charcoal helped build an appetite after a full day of fun. As darkness approched we sipped our wine and tended the steaks and watched the moon and stars appear in the night's sky. Soon we were joined by the soft and suttle sounds made by the little night creatures in the quietness of the hill country. We both enjoyed a restful nights sleep in the comfortable queen size bed. A new day with coffee in hand and back in the rockers we were cooled by an early morning breeze. The silence of the morning was broken now and then by a rooster somewhere accross the valley. This cabin and it's location is indeed very tranquil and relaxing. We very much enjoyed our stay there and will return again soon. A very special thanks to our hosts Carol and David for creating such a warm and special place in the Texas hill country!... Janet and TomRecommended for: Romantic getaway.
