Me & my girlfriend Jackie checked in on Dec. 25, 2011 & stayed thru Jan 1st 2012, we enjoyed the condo very much & thought the lighted pier was absolutely beautiful at night, the condo has everthing you need while there & Paul is great to deal with, this place will always be special to us because it's where I proposed to Jackie on New Years Eve, this was our first time staying at Orange Beach & we plan to go back to be married, it's a beautiful beach & we will be married right on the beach!, thanks Paul, we enjoyed your condo very much!, Wayne

We were looking for a condo for a quick weekend getaway with our 3 year old who had been asking us to take her to the beach for months. When we finally decided on a weekend to go, it was only two weeks prior to the date of arrival. I contacted the owner, and although my reservation was made at the last minute, he was friendly and accommodating to my needs. Transaction was professional and took place very quickly so that I received the keys in plenty of time before leaving home for the condo. Condo was clean and comfortable, and everything was in working order. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will try to stay here again on our next visit!

Recommended for:Families with young children.

My husband, two kids, and I came to visit this wonderful condo. I did not have any issues with any of our experience what so ever. First off, I contacted the owner about the condo and he was absolutely amazing to work with. He never gave us any trouble. We decided to stay 4 days and 5 nights. He decided to give us a extra night for free since someone was going to be checking in on that Friday.(thats always a PLUS) When we got there, the presentation of the condo was great, Beachy look and all. You could open any window of the house and see the beach thru all of the windows. I ended up cooking dinner one night and put something in the garbage disposal, and it did not turn on but I did come to find out that the switch is in the cabnet below the sink(NO PROBLEM WITH DISPOSAL). The view of the beach is absolutely amazing! The pier is lit up at night(NOT TOO BRIGHT AS LISTED BELOW) It gives the water a beautiful glow at night to look at. If it were not there you wouldn't be able to see the water with out the BEAUTIFUL peir lights reflecting off of the ocean water. It was PERFECT! I highly recommend staying at this condo. We will be staying again next year for our family trip.

We enjoyed our stay for the most part. However, we were charged a fee for using linens that were in the condo. It was confusing to us, because we thought linens were included with the rental. We will not be staying in this condo again. The garbage disposal was stopped up and there were a few other things that were not as advertised.

Owner response:It's true the lady was accessed a charge for using the linen which was designated for the new arrivals after her departure. In this one particular case the linens for the new arrivals were stored under one of the bunk beds in a plastic container with a note attached which read "Do not touch these linens are for the people who will arrive after your departure." As for the garbage disposal they break and this one did. At the time a new disposal was on order and has arrived and is fully operational. Were sorry If the disposal was a inconvience to our guest. We loved out visit to Orange Beach. There was a Awsome view of the gulf from out patio. The rooms were clean and plenty of room. Close by great food and things to do if you get tired of the beach. We will be back to Emerald Skye!!

Great place to stay for a whole week. We have visited here many times and have found it to be everything that it has been advertised for and then some. Great location, very clean and well equipped, all the comforts of home, but more. The beach and pool was beautiful. I would definitely go back there many times over. As for the owners, they were great people to work with and was very accomodating to our every need. We will visit there many times.

I rented this condo for two nights, and it really is a nice place. Relatively clean (though it's not central AC, there are two separate units that do OK work) and a nice balcony. The only real surprises were A) no beach chairs, as was stated in the amenities, B) a very dirty pool, and C) a monstrous private pier located almost directly in front of the condo. It has very bright security lights on all night, it was obnoxious, and it was nowhere in the listing's description or pictures. The worst aspect of this whole thing, however, was the poor quality of communication between the owner and myself. The deposit/rent/lease/keys were all sent by mail, despite the fact that fax machines exist and there were definitely keys in the lockbox. The owner assumed I knew he would immediately cash my deposit check, and he would send me a personal check for the deposit amount only once I had mailed his keys back. I said to Mr. Irvin that in my experience this is not the norm and perhaps he should clearly state this policy on his posting. His response that he was sorry I had made such assumptions was condescending. When I asked him to possibly wait a couple days before cashing the rent check (as I hadn't budgeted the deposit being withdrawn), he refused and stated that the check had better go through. Despite my full cooperation, I was treated rudely and unprofessionally by the owner. Good luck, future Gulf Coast tourists! All my experiences on VRBO prior to this were very positive.

Owner response:If you read other reviews you'll find that our other guest have truly enjoyed their stay at EmeraldSkye. (A) The furniture on the balcony is replaced every year and very nice. (B)The pool is cleaned and maintained everyday and is very enjoyable. (C)The private pier next to EmeraldSkye is just what is stated its private and most of our visitors call to inquire about admittance on the pier(everyone enjoys the pier at the beach).This whole TOTALLY UNTRUE REVIEW was posted because the security deposit check was (NON SUFFICIENT FUNDS) which inturn caused her lease balance to be NON SUFFICENT FUNDS. Clearly stated on the lease agreement (ALL RECEIVED FUNDS WILL BE DEPOSITED)in EmeraldSkye Acct. Our management personal do our best to please all guest however we don't have the authority to manage our guest banking accounts.

I had to attend a conference just down the road and ,FORTUNATELY for me, the hotel was booked. This was a great condo. My mom and son went along to keep me company and we had plenty of room. Linens were fresh, condo was a great size for 2 adults and child, great beach and pool area; Clean and well kept; Would love to come back for vacation!

The condo was clean, well-equipped for kitchen, bed linens and towels. The king-size bed was comfortable. Not a large condo but enough room for two people to live easily. Right on the beach. The owners were easy to work with. Lots of restaurants in the area. Go to Wal-Mart in Gult Shores for groceries. The weather wasn't the best when we were there but we had a good time anyway. Would recommend.
