This home has been furnished with designer furnishings, luxury linens, and LCD/HDTV flat screen TV's. A new paver patio with top-of-the-line, 6 person hot tub/spa was just added. In addition to patio dining, luxury chaise lounges, and conversation seating with the extensive wrap-around deck, allows for exceptional outdoor living. The home is located in an enclave of exclusive homes, the closest private homes to the Shipyard Beach Club and beach, and easily accommodates 6-8 for sleeping. The home’s premiere location is within minutes of all that Shipyard Plantation and Hilton Head Island have to offer, including great beaches, world-class golf, tennis, casual and fine dining and shopping. THIS HOME IS ONE OF THE FEW HOMES WITHIN EASY WALKING DISTANCE TO THE BEACH...IT IS ALSO A 3 MINUTE BIKE RIDE! Enjoy your own private hot tub/spa, to warm you up in the colder months, and cool you off in the summer, temperature adjusted accordingly! Enter the front door, and you will look through the open, airy living room with vaulted ceilings, to a wall of windows, with fantastic views of the golf course, and lagoon beyond. The home sits on the fairway of the 6th hole of Shipyard’s Galleon golf course. You will feel a great sense of privacy here, enjoying your own space.
Step from the living room to expansive wrap-around decks, with a dining table for six, and plenty of bench seating and chairs for lounging and enjoying the moss trees and golf course views. An additional paver patio goes beyond the wrap-around deck, with a PRIVATE HOT TUB for you to enjoy. Spend relaxing time watching all types of waterfowl. Watch the blue heron, cardinals and a large variety of birds. Walk across the golf course to the lagoon, and feed the adorable baby turtles!
Enjoy the upgraded kitchen with new granite countertops, stainless steel sink and appliances, and hard wood floors. We provide everything you will need, should you decide to dine at home during your stay, including glassware, dishes, pots and pans, etc. We even provide a crab pot to steam your favorite seafood! There is also a gas grill on the deck to prepare your favorite meals.
Sand Dollar Cottage offers three spacious bedrooms, each newly decorated with quality, high-end bedding and luxury linens. The king master bedroom suite with private bath is upstairs, It has a wonderful view of the bearded moss trees, the golf course and the lagoon beyond. The newly designer-decorated and freshly painted second bedroom, furnished with a king bed, is located on the first floor, and also shares the same beautiful wooded and golf view. From here, you will have direct access to the deck and hot tub through sliding glass doors. Guests staying in this room will love having their morning coffee just outside their room, on the deck. A third bedroom, on the first floor, is freshly painted, and has a new Lexington queen cottage bedroom set. This bedroom looks out over the beautiful private park across the street. There is a full bath on the first floor. We have also provided a queen-size, elevated air bed with pump, and a full-size auto-inflate air bed for additional sleeping needs. The living room sleeper sofa is new, with a queen bed inside and special cushions for extra comfort when used for regular seating.
All bedrooms have flat screen, LCD TV's, and there is a large flat screen, LCD TV in the living room. We also provide a stereo, a DVD player and a DVD library for your use. Should you have work to do during your stay, we provide a wonderful Pottery Barn style desk and futon in the bright sun room, and complimentary wireless internet for your use.
The home is well equipped with all of the conveniences you are looking for, including, beach towels and chairs, beach toys, coolers, 'noodles', three bicycles, and two sets of golf clubs…all complimentary. Just bring your clothes and enjoy a relaxing romantic, secluded get-away, or a family vacation that will build memories to last a lifetime. Do as much or as little as you would like during your stay…it is all up to you.
This is an exceptional home, with a terrific location: walk to or drive just a minute to the private Shipyard Beach Club/beach, and just 5 minutes to the Sea Pines gate for access to Harbor Town and South Beach. My family decided to spend Christmas in Hilton Head for a change of pace and I'm so happy we did. Barbara had the house nicely decorated for the holiday and it made us feel right at home. The house had plenty of room for the four of us with comfortable beds and flat screen televisions in every room. There are two big bedrooms with queen and king beds on the first floor and a master suite up the winding staircase. It has been beautifully remodeled with nice decor and comfy furniture. Most importantly, it was super clean. The wood-burning fireplace and hot tub got a bit of use, too, during a couple of cold days. The hot tub easily fits four adults and was only a few steps from the back door. We didn't use the nice outdoor patio but I'm sure it would be *the* place to hang out in warmer weather. The beach is a close walk or bike ride away or you can choose to take the short drive over to the beach club. There was a big dining table for family meals and card games. The house also has a nice sun porch and, in warmer temps, it would be a great place to sleep. We used the provided bikes for rides around Shipyard and the beach. I enjoyed being on the south end of the island near Coligny and Park Plaza. We went into Sea Pines one night to check out the Christmas lights, too. There are plenty of food choices only a few minutes drive if you don't want to take advantage of the well-stocked kitchen. We had a wonderfully relaxing stay and will certainly keep the house in mind for future trips.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

We returned to Barbara and Tony's place for 2 weeks this year and as soon as we walked in the door we felt at home, so great to return to such a wonderful place. The kids just settled right in like we had never left. Our daughter was crying about having to leave because she loves the "Beach House" so much. We spent a week at Barbara and Tony's home and LOVED IT! This vacation stay for us was nothing short of 5 stars! Every amenity of home is at your fingertips--and then some: from decorative serving ware to lush towels and bicycles. This home is beautifully decorated and truly fulfilled our vacation requirement of "forgetting about the office"! I'll be honest, my only reluctancy in posting a review is of a selfish nature---I wanted to keep this little gem of a home a secret so that I can return whenever I choose.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

We enjoyed a wonderful week in Shipyard at this fantastic home. Great location - the bikes provided make the beach moments away and provided hours of enjoyment biking around Shipyard and SeaPines. The home is beautifully decorated and has every amenity. Felt like we were in our own private 2nd home. Quality flat screen TVs, loaded kitchen, incredible hot tub, and so many extras. Loved the beach chairs and towels. Quality linens are a nice touch. We would definitely return!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sand Dollar Cottage, Hilton Head on May 19 - 22, 2012. The home is beautiful and nicely furnished with a great deck and patio that backs up to the 6th green. We really enjoyed the hot tub on the patio. Bicycling to the nearby beach is an easy and fun ride. A very comfortable vacation home in a quiet neighborhood. We are looking forward to going back soon.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

Our family enjoyed this vacation home very much. Beautiful home, beautifully decorated, and impecable. Was pleasantly surprised that the rental description was right on target. Have stayed at numerous rentals over the years and never really found the description to come even close to the actual rental. This one did it and more!!! clean ,,well kept modern...the total package. We so enjoyed our time and our experience working with Barbara and her husband. The hot tub replaced the beach sometimes, and the villa was spacious and well-decorated. Our girls enjoyed the location, (close to beach/pools/food) and we could easily visit our favorite places. All in all, it was very relaxing to stay here and we never felt the need to do anything except enjoy our time at this "home away from home". You can't go wrong with these wonderful people or their villa. Truly exceptional!Recommended for: People with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

Just wanted to say how much we enjoyed your home. There were eight including 2 young children and we were very comfortable. It was the perfect home to really enjoy being together. The outside deck area was fantastic. The fall weather made it a perfect place to gather. The kids made s'mores over the fire pit. We found ourselves wanting to enjoy the deck area for meals rather than go out to eat.
