We love the atmosphere of quiet tranquility, sitting on the back porch and enjoying the mountain view, in beautiful Buck Hill Falls -- dynamic and peaceful at the same time.
The house maintains its old-fashioned 1950s "feel", recalling a less hectic age, but there's lots going on. It works great with one or two couples or a larger family group, giving you ample room to spread out, connect with others, or find your own quiet place inside or out by the pond (stare at the goldfish). An extensive trail system (4000 wilderness acres) starts right outside our door. In 5-10 minutes walk to lovely waterfalls, ice-cold crystal-clear streams where you can take a a refreshing dip, and amenities (beautiful Olympic-size pool, tennis courts, 27-hole golf course).
The main living room-dining room area adjoins a fully-equipped kitchen (vintage 1950s) and porch with picnic table. The first-floor bedroom suite has a double bed and its own bath (it works well for people who want to avoid stairs). On the second floor there is a master bedroom suite with bath (queen-size bed), a second bedroom with two twin beds, and a den with fold-out Queen-size couch. The second bedroom and den have their own full bath. There is an overflow sleeping area in the basement with twin bed and full bath.
Buck Hill Falls is a comfortable, relaxed, Quaker-founded family-oriented community. Many families have been spending their summers here for generations. There are community-wide activities for children, teens and families; it's easy to join in. But there's also plenty of room for you to find your own rhythm and march to your own drummer.

Our family has stayed at this wonderful Buckhill Falls home over the past several years. And every year we look forward to returning. The house is cozy and yet spacious with a lot of room to spread out. We enjoyed the wood burning fireplace and the beautiful mountain views from the dining room window. The house is warm, comfortable and nostalgic. Very clean and well maintained. Looking forward to returning next year.Recommended for: People with disabilities, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

My family and friends rented this house for a weekend and we enjoyed it very much. The house is very well kept and clean. The porch with the beautiful view of the woods was an exceptional thing which made us think we are away from our busy lives. Also the owner was very nice and answered all our questions which made our stay more convenient. We would deffinately recommend this house to any age group with any interest.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

We spent a long weekend in this house and can't wait to come back. The owner is super easy to work with and really went above and beyond to ensure that our family had a perfect weekend. The facilities at Buck Hill Falls are great -- we could have spent the entire weekend at the pool. Really a super getaway in every way.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, age 55+.

This is a lovely and gracious home, perfect for a getaway time, for family gatherings, for relaxing, for activity levels of all kinds. The surroundings are beautiful, and offer many different opportunities to explore, enjoy, connect with nature; conveniences are all close at hand as well. The home is beautifully laid out for small or large groups, with options for privacy as well as central common space. We had a glorious time in this impeccably kept home in a stunning setting. I would recommend it highly to anyone looking for a reasonable and spacious rental in this lovely area. The swimming pool is wonderful, the hikes to the waterfall and other areas are beautiful and accessible. The photos accurately reflect the beauty and upkeep of the home. I would heartily recommend this place to a friend or relative, with enthusiasm. My family has stayed at this property several times and we LOVE it! The house itself is so calming - nicely decorated bug not 'stuffy' at all. It has a great connection to the natural world with lovey earth colors and lots of big windows to see the beautiful surrounding woods. The porch and backyard are great for hanging out but Oh - there is so much more! There are many well marked trails to explore, and if you get hot and tired from a long hike the swimming pool is fantastic. It has the best baby pool area for toddlers I've seen outside a water park. Tired of staying around the house? Then of course you have all the attractions of the Poconos close by.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this lovely home in the Poconos and heartily endorse the owner's description of the property and the area. The home is spacious enough to accomodate a large group of people, but not so large that you lose the intimacy of being with family and friends.. The surrounding area is beautiful. There are activities for all ages, from young children to those just looking to relax in a peaceful environment on the deck and watch the hummingbirds come to the feeders. This is a great house in a beautiful community. It's nicely furnished, spic & span clean, and spacious. There's a great deck off the kitchen and dining room that runs almost the width of the house, and what a view! There's a picnic table on the deck for eating outside (the kitchen is fully equipped) and a nice long dining table indoors. We drove a short distance to a wonderful, huge pool and hiked in woods to a lovely waterfall and stream. It's a short drive into town with quaint shops and restaurants although we mostly stayed within the community. This is a great value and we would definitely go back again.Recommended for: People with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+.

There is a lovely graceful feel to the layout of the house--space to be separate and easy to get together. The kitchen and other rooms work very well together for entertaining. Meticulously cared for. Walk in the woods or look at the other lovely houses along the street. And the pond with waterfall is amazing.Recommended for: People with disabilities, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+.

We bought this property to get away from the hectic world of our busy career-oriented lives, and to have a place for family gatherings. Through the years we have had wonderful times with different family groupings, including our younger relatives -- children and teens of various ages -- and other friends (individuals and couples) to spend weekends or longer with us. The atmosphere promotes the kind of connecting that we treasure with those we care about.

The setting of Buck Hill Falls is ideal. The houses are clustered together in a community; you don't feel isolated. All types of stores and restaurants are right around the corner, but it's quiet. The 5000 acres of wilderness really give you a sense of getting away from it all. The house itself is solid, old-fashioned, spacious and comfortable. Kick off your shoes, take a deep breath and feel at home.
