The Chalon House is a unique 60's style ranch home situated high on a hill in Bel Air overlooking the Bel Air Country Club and stunning city and ocean views. Architected by Perry Neuschatz, it is one of the few houses that survived the Bel Air fire of November 1961. The open floor plan and unique two story dome-shaped living room provide a special setting for entertaining. The house is situated on a large, 1 acre lot and has a paddle tennis court and swimming pool with original diving board. Although in the heart of Los Angeles, the home is very quiet and peaceful with mature landscaping and virtually no neighbors. A perfect place to unwind and relax, for events, or as a set location.

The property is beautiful and fully equipped, very clean, comfortable, quiet and peaceful, a retreat from the rest of the world. The owner is very accommodating and pleasant to work with. The only problem, beyond owner's control, is the telephone service and therefore wifi internet was not working; and the wifi hotspot purchased to try to relieve the problem was not adequate: slow and spotty service. Again, the wifi internet being down was NOT the owner's fault, but it prevents an Excellent rating.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Albert, it was a pleasure having you stay. Time Warner has finally gotten permits from the city to cut open the street and replace the bad cable. A very long, frustrating process for the entire street. I do wish you would have told us about the hotspot not working for you as we could have resolved the issue immediately (it was running on 3G instead of 4G). Thanks again and hope you return in the future!

My grandmother was turning 90 so several family members were coming to stay in LA for the week. We needed a place that was all on one level where amenities could be enjoyed by all activity levels. It was a wonderful place for her to look out at the amazing nearly 360 degree views, watch the younger cousins place in the pool and on the paddle tennis court, and the family to make meals and enjoy each other's company. It had something for everyone, was beautiful, serene, and walker friendly. And I know the cousins from Kansas were impressed with the amazing architecture that they have more than likely never seen. I know my family will never forget our time together there.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Come stay at our architectural view home, you'll love it!

My extended family along with myself and my husband stayed here and we all fit perfectly. We had no idea there would be 180 degree views from every room in the house! The peaceful atmosphere and lovely pool area and gardens and grassy area, and tennis court, make this a dream location. The furniture and bedding were perfect, and the large kitchen is supplied with every appliance and dish necessary. The master suite with huge closets and recently remodeled bath is gorgeous. This house is completely unique! We will stay again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: We're looking forward to welcoming you in our peaceful view home in the near future!!

Stayed here for a couple of weeks and loved it. Lovely views with a beautiful, just wished it a a touch warmer. The house does not have air conditioning in the bed rooms, which was not an issue for the most part of our stay. Great appliances in the kitchen and overall a well equipped house.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

"This beautiful home was a perfect place for our family to stay during out visit to Los Angeles. The children loved the pool and the adults loved the views. This location was perfect for shopping, eating, and visiting the Getty. Driving through the Bel-Air gates everyday made you feel like resident of L.A. rather than a guest. The beautiful fully-equipped kitchen was ideal for the children staying with us, everything they needed was at our fingertips. The owner was professional, prompt, and a delight to work with. I would recommend this house to a small family like ours, a group of friends getting away, or a multi-family vacation."Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
