I stayed in the property for a business trip. I was looking for something convenient to bring my 7 month old baby and my husband to be combining the stay with a short beach vacation. And it turned out that this property was perfect. Large enough for the three of us, very clean and homey. Thank you very much! Good value and location, especially for business travelers with work at or near HCPIL, Hague Tribunal, Peace Palace, and World Forum and leisure days with beach, parks, shopping within easy walking distance. Quiet area and clean property, well-furnished and stocked with books, magazines, brochures and maps and kitchen condiments including full range of spices, vingears, olive oils. Sprial staircase to BR would be a challenge for the elder or infirm. Bath(s) are small but adequate. Wilma is a gem if you need info or assistance. Bike tire was flat and one chair in the LR needed new legs, but owner promised to fix for the next visitor and I would tend to believe her. Two minute walk to Tram to launch trip to anywhere else. Go to Scheveningen for memorable dining at Simonis (for fresh seafood), Kurhaus Sunday Brunch, and Topkapi.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing.

The Coach House is ideally situated in a quiet residential area with easy access to Scheveningen and The Hague via the No. 1 tram which is only 2 minutes walk from the house. There are local shops less than 10 minutes walk and the centre of the Hague is only a 10 minute tram journey away. The two train stations in The Hague provide access to all of the Netherlands with Leiden, Amsterdam and Rotterdam less than an hour away and the No. 1 tram gives direct access to Delft. Public transport in the Netherlands is excellent value for money making travelling around the Netherlands cheap, don't forget to buy your OV Chipkaart as soon as you arrive as this will allow you to travel on the Trains, Buses and Trams across the Netherlands. The Coach House would make an ideal base for holidays and anyone coming to work in The Hague for a short period of time as the house has everything you would need for a longer stay.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing.

I just completed a week long stay in this sweet coach house in The Hague. I booked it so that I could stay in a home rather than a hotel while working nearby. The coach house came with a bicycle, too, which allowed me to exercise to/from my work. I got quite the attention from my Dutch colleagues as I rode up on the bike. I was told I was staying in The Hague, dutch-style. Of course, should it rain or should you prefer not to ride a bike around, there is a tram literally 2 minutes from the front door. The tram takes you all the way to the train station, which was perfect when I needed to get to Amsterdam intl airport to return home. Wilma, who looks after the house, met me right away and showed me through the house. Shortly before leaving, she told me that should I require immediate assistance with something urgent, to please not hesitate to reach out to her. Just knowing that I had that kind of support in case of emergency meant a LOT to me. Wilma is amazing. As for the home, it was exactly what I was hoping for...a comfortable living space, private, with all the amenities one needs. An extra perk was the balcony where I could enjoy a glass of wine as the sun was setting - the colors in the sky were gorgeous. A grocery store and a number of cafes/restaurants are within 10 minutes walk from the house. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking gear for people who like to cook - except for an oven, so be prepared! The heater worked very well, too, which was what I needed on the days it rained. Wonderful stay. I highly recommend this jewel for anyone wanting a quiet, private, home-like atmosphere during their holiday or work abroad. Oh, and Louise was excellent in getting back to me right away whenever I emailed requesting information, etc.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Hi Lisa! Thank you so much for your very kind review! I know we've shared a chuckle about this already but just for anyone who is reading this and wondering about the oven: THERE IS AN OVEN, but it is a microwave/oven combination device, which may not look like an oven (hence this reviewer assumed there wasn't one) but it surely functions as one, as well as a microwave. I will have to add a note in the kitchen about it :) Thanks again. Hope to welcome you back sometime!

My wife and I spent a great week here late September (very cold),the house was warm and cosy the lounge was very comfortable as was the bed/bed room,in spit of the cold weather we where able to sit out on the roof terrace on a couple of times, which was nice. There are shops and take-aways just around the corner.Public transport in Holland are FANTASTIC! we only used the car once all the other times we used the tram at the end of the road which goes all the way from the beach through The Hague to Delph, you can get the trains from The Hague to anywhere in Holland. The hague is a great small town with so much to see and many, many great places to geat super food, would I stay there again? yes.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We stayed in this cottage for two weeks and thoroughly enjoyed its convenient location, both to the beach at Scheveningen as well as the shops on the Frederik Hendriklaan. As it is situated in a lane, the location is quiet and peaceful. Inside, everything was provided to make our stay comfortable. The small kitchen has everything needed to prepare the same meals one would enjoy at home, and there is a good washing machine in the bathroom. A spiral staircase leads to the bedroom and terrace, so this property is probably not a good idea for anybody with significant mobility issues. There is a bus stop almost directly outside the door and the tram stops at the next intersection, making it convenient to get around, even though we ended up walking almost everywhere we went. There are several bike rental businesses in the neighbourhood. We rented ours at the store opposite the big church at the end of the road leading to the beach (Keizerstraat), where the service was good and the selection decent. If you pick up your bike just before closing time at 6pm, you can enjoy a 24 hour rental for €9 per bike. The owner of the house, who used to live there herself, is friendly and helpful, and she promptly replied to my emails. I would not hesitate to recommend this rental to others.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

About the owner: I lived in this family-owned house myself while I was pursuing my graduate studies at Leiden university in Leiden (30 minutes from the house by train or car). I wrote my dissertation in the unique and inspiring atmosphere of this home. I loved to go run on the beach or in the woods, both a few minutes away from my doorstep. Or bike to any place in the Hague.. I hope you will enjoy it too! In the picture: me and my daughter in front of the house on a recent visit!
Why the Owner Chose The Hague (Den Haag):
Lovely Scheveningen beach is a 5 minute walk away. Grab your towel and go for a stroll or a dip in the sea (in the summer!), come home and enjoy the evening sun on the sun-filled terrace in this quiet neighborhood. Go running on the trails that run in the forest near the house, walk to the cozy Frederik Hendriklaan to go shopping, visit the famous Paagman bookstore, coffee shops, etc. Take a tram that stops right by the house and enjoy the short ride downtown to enjoy all that beautiful and historic The Hague has to offer, museums, shopping, theatre, music, dance, entertainment! A great place to be!
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
You will find total privacy in this house, private entrance, comfortable furnishing, a stylish spiral staircase takes you to a separate bedroom on the 2nd floor, where doors also open to the sunny terrace.
