It's a quintessential mountain getaway, ready to fulfill your every need. Situated in popular Blue Lake Springs, you can expect summertime fun at Snowflake Lodge from Memorial Day through Labor Day. If a ski trip is your seasonal escape, the perfectly level driveway makes access a breeze (and the wood-burning stove and forced air heat will keep you toasty).
This cabin was recently remodeled and has a beautiful, spacious kitchen (with granite counters and new appliances), updated furniture, and mountain style everywhere you look. But don't be fooled by the cozy look, it also has wireless service for those who just can't leave the internet behind! The kids will go crazy for the rec room downstairs, where they can play ping pong or cards at the card table until the wee hours, without disturbing anyone. The lot itself has a great play area in front as well as in the back.
For sleeping arrangements, there are three bedrooms: two with queen beds on the main floor (one is a master), a king bed plus trundle bed (two twins) downstairs, and a sofa bed in the family room. Maximum 10 guests (beds for 9), no pets and no smoking.

I had a wonderful time at this lovely property with other long-time friends. The home is recently remodeled with all the comforts and amenities of our own home. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a clean and well-maintained property in an area close to wine tasting and many family activities. I recommend dining at Sarafina's, but be sure to make a reservation because seating is limited and it is a popular place.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

Year Purchased: 1980
About the owner: After renting cabins for several years, our parents decided they wanted to own their own cabin. Our Dad drew up the plans for our cabin and our parents had the cabin built in 1980. It really is more of a home than a cabin. We recently remodeled the entire cabin to bring it out of the 1980s and into the present and are able to enjoy the cabin even more, now that it is updated with granite counter tops and wireless internet!
Why the Owner Chose Arnold:
Our family has enjoyed vacationing at Blue Lake Springs for 40 years. We started out renting cabins at Blue Lake Springs every summer for a couple of weeks. Even as teenagers, we loved all the activities there were to do. We would hang out all day at the pool and lake at Blue Lake Springs, with little parent supervision - we felt safe, because it’s member only. The next generation is now enjoying the cabin and all its activities. Our kids enjoy the private lake which is stocked with trout in the summer and the fishing contest in July.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
We enjoy snow skiing, snowmobiling and cross country skiing in the winter. In fact you can drive toward Bear Valley and just park at the side of the highway to sled down the hills. We water ski and jetski during the summer at New Melones Reservoir. And of course there is hiking at Calaveras Big Trees and Lake Alpine, live theatre, wine tasting, and several caves to explore. History buffs should not miss Columbia where the townspeople dress in costumes from the 1800’s. There is a great jazz festival near Bear Valley each year and various musical festivals at Ironstone Winery in the town of Murphys. You can also enjoy some great restaurants after a day of wine tasting at one of the many wineries.
