The owner & his daughter did a great job of answering condo questions and explaining final arrangements. We ate most meals on the lanai and the view was incredible--unobstructed ocean view, complete with a few sea turtles and dolphins! I would not describe the condo as "luxurious", but we found it very confortable. Appreciated the access to wireless internet & also the outdoor charcoal grill. I'd stay there again! Would highly recommend the hula demonstration at the Hyatt. (It's during their happy hour a couple of times a week and is free) Also, the "heritage hike" which starts at the Hyatt and runs for quite a ways along the golf course is a beautiful and a relatively easy hike.

We spent 4 nights at Poipu Palms #103 in May 2010 after spending a week at the Mariott in Ohau. We wish it were the other way around!! Kauai was much more enjoyable than Ohau and Poipu Palms was perfect. It's clean, comfortable and perfectly equipped for a great stay. We looked forward to drinks each day on the Lanai after a busy day of tourist activities. The view is spectacular and we were even treated to some late season whale watching. Highly recommend and hope to return someday.

Kevin & Nicole -Aloha, Mahalo & Wow! We stayed at the beautiful Poipu Palms # 103 May 25-June 1. We had been in Honolulu the week before and purposely wanted to stay in a relaxed atmosphere our 2nd week in Hawaii. This was the perfect place to do that. I'll be repeating what others have said, but it's true. You have everything you need--everything. There are enough backup supplies to take care of all of Poipu Palms. Loved the washer/dryer and dish washer! Each bedroom had its own bathroom and all the island decor was tasteful and lovely. The kitchen granite counter tops were gorgeous and the floors through out the condo are very beautiful. The lanai was a favorite place to relax and watch activity on the ocean front--be it dolphins, sea turtles or sail boats. I have to say the sound of the waves was so special--you'll miss it after you leave. Poipu Beach park is a very short drive away and we happened to see a napping monk seal on the beach--very special. Another highlight for us was a helicopter tour over Kaui. It was breath taking. We flew with Sunshine Helicopters--very good folks. We had some great meals and adventures in Kauai for sure--and it was always wonderful to come home to our condo. This condo has the absolute best location of any on the property. It sits forward of the rest and has no one to the immediate right or left. The view is wonderful! The grounds and pool are very clean and well maintained. Finally, I have to say that all our communications with Kevin & Nicole have been a real pleasure. You will definitely enjoy your stay at Poipu Palms #103!!

The other comments pretty much say it all. We loved our stay. The place was actually better than expected, which is quite a lot. The view from the living room and lanai is spectacular. We watched whales and turtles from close up. The pool is a little small, but well tended and a good place for a bit of exercise or to cool off. Perfect for two couples. Would love to stay there again.

We stayed in Kevin's condo for two weeks in Feb. 2009. Our comments would echo many of those already expressed. Although we have made many trips to Hawaii, this was a first to Kauai for most of our group of four. We have never stayed in a property on any of the islands where we would see turtles, whales, and dolphins all from our lanai on a daily basis and amazingly close to shore. What a treat!!!! Our only complaint....not having been to Kauai before we had a terrible time finding the place after dark. We couldn't get our GPS system to work (probably my fault), and the directions were inadequate and confusing. We felt lucky to finally find Pe'pe road and Poipu Palms. We enjoyed our daily walks along the cliff side to the Hyatt for a morning paper and coffee. You can't go wrong on this. The Brennemans from Oregon

Mahalo to Kevin and Nicole-we could not have asked for a better place to spend the 2008 holdiays than this condo! Not only is it beautiful and well stocked (no need to bring shampoo, soap, towles, etc) the condo is very well maintained and clean! This condo is in an ideal location-it was very quiet and relaxing! We have stayed at other properties on Kauai and there is just no comparison. The best part of our stay was the daily whale activity-every morning, as we sat on the lanai, we were treated to whales, just off shore-what a treat! Kauai is a special place for us and we are looking forward to our next visit to and our next stay at the Poipu Palms #103!

We stayed here a week in September. Best place to stay for the money! We had two couples and one baby. Location is everything. We enjoyed the view and that it was close enough to walk to Poipu Beach. It is great to check yourself in at your own convienence. We recomend snorkel bob's for good equiptment and poipu beach was a great place to snorkel. I saw lot's of fish and three different sea turtles. We will stay here again.

What a wonderful place, the view is breath taking. The decor was beautiful and the kitchen was perfect, we cooked everynight. We saw the dolphins and the Turtles. Special note: Do your shopping at Star Market and Costco if you have a Costco card they seemed to have the best deals. Also the Gelato place in the poipu shopping center was great. Hanaleai Kayaks Hawaiian Surf adventures for surfing instructions and Outfitters for zipline tour are wonderful people.

Stayed here 8/17 to 8/30. Kevin and Nicole are great, and too modest. This unit is one of the best kept secrets out there. Please, Please don't tell anyone else. Everything you could want is here, with all the conveniences of home. Nothing is left out, down to the boogie boards. I think we ate out once. All other times we ate on the lanai. Met the neighbors and had them over for dinner as well. What an escape from the rest of the world. If you are looking for rest, relaxation, beauty and a recharge of your batteries, this is the place. If you are looking for nightlife, parties, and noise, don't come and leave it to the rest of us.... We are coming back to our new found oasis. Thank you again Kevin and Nicole for making your home available to us.

We stayed at Poipu Palms #103 for the first two weeks of August 2008. The condo was perfect. Great view of the ocean, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, laundry, high-speed internet, a pool, dishwasher, etc. We cooked almost all of our meals in the condo and found it well equipped. I was amazed by the supplies we found and used (toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, dishwasher detergent, etc.). That was great! Best of all, we loved Brennecke's beach for boogie boarding. We've spent 5 weeks in the spring time on Maui searching for waves. 2 weeks on the Big Island in summer searching for waves. We had more waves at Brennecke's beach in two weeks than all our other spring/summer trips combined. It was consistently good the whole trip. Other than boogie boarding almost every day, luau, ATV Tour, and Na Pali boat tour....we never left the condo. I read seven books out on the lanai....can't beat that!!!

Aloha! We stayed at Poipu Palms #103 for 10 days in July, 2008 and absolutely loved it. The condo was very clean and had everything we needed. The views are amazing and we loved the location. My husband and I were a little worried about not having air conditioning, but with the trade winds and fans it was actually very comfortable. We saw sea turtles below the condo every day we were there. Mahalo Kevin and Nicole for a wonderful vacation. We look forward to returning soon!

The very best part of this condo is the view. One can sit on the lanai for hours just watching the ocean & listening to the surf. When you get tired of that, it is a very short walk to the beaches or you can enjoy a lovely stroll along the "greenway" enjoying the flora of Kaua'i. The property is very well-maintained & clean with many updates (granite countertops, hardwood floors). The beds are very comfortable and it is a very quiet & private location. I would recommend this location to others and would stay here again.

We stayed at Poipu Palms #103 from January 18-January 25, 2008. It was a joy to walk in the door and see the welcoming and attractive decor - the beautifully kept unit. We so enjoyed the deck - especially the hour before sunset when the whales were particularly active. It was amazing and so fun to hear the oohs and aahs and wows from each deck in response to a breach. All that and then a gorgeous sunset. We loved that it was a smaller complex - much more our style. We would return again and do recommend it for others. It's a good find!

Aloha! When one seeks to purchase a home, the watchword is Location! Location! Location! So it is when one seeks a holiday rental on the beautiful Garden Island of Kauai. We truly lucked out when we found such a place at Poipu Palms #103. Thank you, Kevin. We were four seniors all over 70 years of age, and our first impression was, "Hey! no stairs to climb. That's really something for someone with arthritic hips and knees. Once inside we found the place spotlessly clean. A modern, fully equipped kitchen, brightly lit with a window looking out to the ocean. Comfortable beds, clean bathrooms. All the comforts of home away from home. But there was much more and one only had to step out onto the lanai to discover and appreciate it. How much time we spent just sitting taking it all in. Whale spotting, Dolphins showing off, and sea turtles could be spotted from the pool deck. There were rainbows galore, as we were treated to some tropical storms, but not enough to dampen our spirits. Breakfast on the lanai was always a treat, especially when that cheeky little Red Crested Cardinal paid us a visit. He would chirp away and cock his head from side to side as if to say, "What about me?" This was our second visit to Kauai, and it was very bit as memorable as the first. Our only regret was that we did not have another week or two to stay at this beautiful location, Poipu Palms #103. Mahalo, Kevin.

Aloha! Poipu Palms Unit 103 was wonderful. Very clean and cozy. We stayed for one week Dec. 24-31. Spending Christmas day just relaxing on the lanai and enjoying the fantastic view & perfect sunset was one we'll never forget. The condo was fully stocked and having a washer/dryer in the unit was a big plus. Kevin and Nicole were a pleasure to work with. It was difficult to leave but we're definitely planning a return visit. Mahalo Kevin and Nicole.

Great condo and location. Everything was just as described. Lovely furnishings, and very comfortable. We stayed on Kauai for 18 days, and really hated to leave. The view from the lanai is breathtaking. Great sunsets and many frolicking dolphins to keep us entertained. This unit was very clean, well stocked and everything was is tip top shape. A variety of DVD's to watch, and great music to play. We will surely be back in the future. Thanks so much!

How often can you watch a superpod of dolphin playfully jump and arc through the ocean just offshore, as you eat breakfast on your lanai? Apparently everyday, when you stay at Kevin's wonderful Unit 103 at the Poipu Palms. And if that isn't enough, his unit sits forward of the other groundfloor units, allowing a virtually unobstructed view of the amazing Kauai sunsets. As former owners of a home on the North Shore of Kauai, we love to visit and explore the entire island, but still we found it hard to leave our perch in Poipu each day, as it offered tropical perfection and ultimate comfort. A short walk to the south offered all the amenities of the (former) Embassy Suites and Grand Hyatt hotels (be sure to check out the Hyatt's beautiful and classy Stevenson's Library, which includes an amazing Koa wood bar and a couple of pool tables), while a stroll to the north presented Brenneke's Beach Broiler restaurant and the beautiful Waiohai hotel. All these locations are close by when you want them, but far enough away to allow you to feel like you are on a deserted tropical isle as you lay poolside at the PP, with nothing but the swaying green palms, fluffy white clouds and glistening blue ocean surrounding you. Kevin has appointed Unit 103 with everything you might need and more, with an amazingly well-stocked closet, full of cleaning and paper products, snorkel gear, etc. We even found a bottle of "Goo Gone" we used to remove a wad of gum that got stuck to our wallet in the airport x-ray machine! Plus, the washer and dryer allowed us to pack light, so we had plenty of room to bring home the island wear we always end up buying. There was nothing we needed that Kevin did not provide (except, of course, a way to stop the passage of time). (One passing note: a renter from another unit told us the pool might be closed for a few days in the near future to allow the deck area to be painted. This work could already be done, but as a precaution, you might want to check with Kevin if any rehab is scheduled at the PP during your vacation dates.) Now that our time in paradise is behind us, we are suffering from serious withdrawals, even here in sunny So. Cal., which just proves there is no place like Kauai and the Poipu Palms. Thanks for your hospitality, Kevin. We look forward to returning soon. Steve & Bonnie Brennan Jim & Judy O'Brien

Wow, what a wonderful piece of paradise you've offered to your guests! The memories are imprinted in our minds--waking up to the orchestra of the ocean waves...that gorgeous panoramic view of the sea (close enough to touch!)...sipping mai-tais on the lanai...having the swimming pool practically to ourselves...This was the absolute perfect place for our honeymoon. In addition, you were so responsive and sweet when we had questions or requests, and the place was very cozy and the perfect home away from home. The privacy and beauty of your little island getaway is something we'll never forget, and we definitely see ourselves coming back.

The Poipu area is a wonderful area to stay on the island, it has the best weather. You are close to great sights and places to eat. I highly reccomend the guided tour of the Allerton's botanical garden at National Botanical Gardens just beyond spouting horn. It truly is paradise!

8/17/07 This is a beautiful condo! Awesome views of the ocean. The interior is very comfortable, updated, and modern. It is roomy with all the amenities, including shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, etc. We entertained friends who lived there, and they were stunned at the price for what we got. The ceiling and floor fans were enough to keep the place comfortable, as there are always tradewinds. You are munutes from a good beach. It was a fabulous vacation, and we would definitley recommend this to all. The pool was wonderful, and no one was ever in it when we were. This unit is the best in the whole complex, as there is no one on either side of you.FABULOUS FABULOUS FABULOUS! We already got our deposit back. Our very first experience with this type of thing and....it was even better than we imagined! The property is modern, immaculate and the view is priceless. As a first timer here were our concerns: 1.) Paying in advance and getting ripped off - Bottom line here is you have to trust somebody. Based on their prompt communication, good feedback and accurate availability calendar (believe me...not true of many condos) We chose to trust Kevin and Nicole. These folks are a class act. Our security deposit was returned in full and was in our mailbox when we got home! 2.) Property is not on the beach - We have kids, this was a big concern. Being on a beach sounded cool, but here's the deal. You don't get as good of views because generally beach condos are further back from the coastline and at a lower elevation. Plus even on a quiet island like Kauai there are always PEOPLE on the beach. The beach is a 5 minute walk. We now think an oceanfront condo close to the beach is the best of both worlds. 3.) We could stay in a hotel for about the same price - Well maybe, but it's doubtful you will get this view. Plus if your staying for several nights you are going to really like having REAL furniture, a real kitchen (we ate two meals per day at the condo to save money), a washer and dryer, your own bedrooms, two bathrooms, etc. 4.) No A/C - Surprisingly, many places don't. We learned that Kauai pays about 4 times the electricity rate we do, so I wouldn't have A/C either. But surprisingly with the breeze, cieling fans, windows with plantation shutters (good air flow and privacy) you will be quite comfortable. When we go back to Kauai, we will stay at this unit. I have withheld my contact information to avoid getting on phone and email lists, but if you would like to reach me, have the Cahill's give you my email address. P.S. - Don't forget to take a walk on the rocks below the property!!!! The easiest way to get there is a walking trail a block east (turn right out of the driveway) of the property. There is a vacant lot that appears to be a bird santuary or something. There is a nice trail all the way to the coastline and you can spend hours exploring the tide pools and rock formations. Some great picture spots and even better views of the sunset!

Thank you, Kevin & Nicole, for the use of your beautiful condo. We were impressed with how clean, stocked and comfortable it was! (We've stayed at other condos in Poipu and this was hands-down the best!) We had all the amenities of home and none of the hustle-bustle of a resort complex. We loved that we could enjoy Poipu and the rest of the island for as long as we (the adults)had energy to endure, and then we could come home and the kids could continue burning off energy in the pool while we relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful view! We loved being able to cook a few meals in the condo and then go out for a meal when we chose. Doing laundry as needed made it easier to pack lighter, and the accomodations were even roomy enough for our family of four (that includes a teenager)! We will certainly be calling on you again for our next visit and we already have friends who are ready to plan their trips! Thank you for sharing your beautiful getaway!!

Kevin: A short note to say once again how much we enjoyed our stay at #103 Poipu Palms. The whole experience was superb. Not only is the unit comfortable and well maintained but the furnishings you have chosen set the mood for a tropical vacation. That said, the unit's highlight is the lanai with its views and proximity to the sea. We spent every spare moment there, enjoying the waves, the dolphins, the whales, the turtles and the sunsets. The unit's location in a quiet area was a plus for us and we especially appreciated the welcoming flower and fruit basket. The WIFI arrangements were also appreciated. We cannot imagine a better holiday experience and hope to get back in the future.

Aloha Kevin, Thank you so much for opening your fantastic home to myself and my daughter Shaune. We had a truly wonderful experience. We saw turtles off the deck, a powerful thunder storm which left us one of the most beautiful rainbows we had ever seen and the sunsets were spectacular. We left you a new guest book that went with the theme of the condo since your other one was almost full. We enjoyed getting up early, sitting on the beautiful deck with our Kona coffee and listening to the waves crashing against the lava rocks. This is about as close to paradise as anyone can get. Kevin - Thanks for sharing your wonderful condo with us! It felt like staying at a "friend's" place. The accomodations were very comfortable and the location was perfectly situated on the water AND near all the popular Poipu sights! Staying in the condo offered us more room to relax than a hotel room. We payed considerably less than staying at the high end hotels and got 3x the living space, a better location, free parking and incredible sunsets. I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet the complex was - very nice people in the area. I will happily recommend this property to others. You are a wonderful host. Thanks again! Karen

Not a lot of things we enjoy as much as having early morning coffee on the Lanai and taking in the beautiful veiws. Both couples agreed that we will definatly be back to this place soon. As a matter of fact we hope next year. Our search is over on what Island and where to stay. Thanks again Kevin. We'll talk again soon. Mahalo, Jensens/Vollands

We really enjoyed our stay in Poipu Palms #103! The view was wonderful! The condo was very comfortable and contained everything necessary to ensure a great vacation. We met several other couples staying at Poipu Palms and they all said that #103 was much nicer they the units they were staying in and were planning on scheduling future vacations for #103. Would I rent this condo again? YES!!

This condo is fantastic. You really couldn't be any closer to the ocean. The whales gave us quite a show one afternoon and the sunsets were spectacular. We loved staying there and hopefully someday will be back.

Kevin, The condo was great! Everything was in great condition and looked wonderful. The view was spectacular! We saw whales, turtles and spinner dolphins all while standing on the balcony! We loved having breakfast on the balcony each morning. We would definitely return to Poipu Palms #103!

We simply loved it. If you stay here you'll watch sea turtles directly below the deck and, if you're patient, you'll probably see a whale or two. Outstanding view, comfortable condo, wonderfully located. You won't be disappointed.

We happily & anxiously returned to Poipu Palms #103 again this year. Last year we visited Maui, Oahu and Kauai thinking it would most likely be our vacation of a lifetime and we'd probably not make it back again anytime soon. Well, that wasn't the case....Glenda and I began planning this year's return trip to the Islands a few weeks after returning home last November. We loved Kauai, but we refused to return if we couldn't return to Poipu Palms #103 as well. This condo is what makes our Kauai visits completely fulfilled and we just won't consider staying anywhere else. Mahalo, Kevin for such hospitality and comfort. It's hard to believe you could make the unit any more beautiful than it is, but your additions sound super and WE CAN'T WAIT to see it again next year! And, by the way, we met another couple at sunset by the pool who has visited Kauai several times. They were in another Poipu Palms unit. We showed them #103 and they plan to rent it next year! They told us the setting at the condo is the best they have ever seen in all the years they have visited Kauai. That should speak for itself. Again, Mahalo, Mahalo, Mahalo for a wonderful 10 nights in #103 (which we call 'our home away from home')!

We absolutely loved the condo at Poipu Palms #103!! The view from the lanai is truly breathtaking and we felt so fortunate to have chosen this particular condominium. We brought our two sons with us and it was the perfect place for our family. Thank you for the wonderful basket of goodies, we thoroughly enjoyed it and the beautiful fresh flowers. We were amazed at the number of sea turtles swimming right there as we watched from the balcony. Plus, you cannot top falling asleep everynight to the sound of the ocean waves hitting against the shore. We're looking forward to our next trip....Mahalo!!!
