Open Mid May - August 20. This unusual property is located on 12 acres just outside of Spearfish. Peaceful and secluded 'The Yurt' is a great place to stay while you're touring the Black Hills. It's close to town, yet not part of the hustle and bustle.
The kids will love sleeping under the stars on our large deck, or if inclement weather hits, you can quickly move inside to our fully furnished accommodations including a kitchen, bathroom, living room, and sleeping loft. There is no air conditioning. The windows are screened allowing for cross ventilation and a ceiling fan moves the air. For sleeping, we have a hide-a-bed couch, 2 futons, and a sleeping area above the bathroom which will sleep 2 kids. Additional floor space and the outside deck is available for sleeping bags. Please strip your bedding and towels on departure.
A fire pit is onsite, great for roasting marshmallows, smores, or campfire moments under the stars. Firewood is available for a small donation. A gas grill is located on the deck.
You can pick up cell service about 50' inside the gate, or drive back down the road about 1/2 mile. There is no television and no internet. There are various coffee shops in town for wireless internet.
We are located up a canyon about 4 miles west of Spearfish off a quiet country road that services the neighboring Forest Service. Big Hill, a popular destination for biking with numerous trails is 5 miles away. 12 miles up the road is Iron Creek Lake where you can rent paddle boats and the kids can swim.

About the owner: I have a real estate and development company (Homes In The Hills).
