This ideally located home is one block from 26th ave. beach and conveniently located in mid-town Santa Cruz. Approximately 3 miles from Capitola and downtown Santa Cruz. This house is a breath of fresh air, with vaulted open beam ceilings and several sky lights throughout the home. The open floor plan kitchen with island is a food lover's delight. The kitchen is stocked with basic cooking essentials such as oils, spices, and baking goods. There is a local Farmer's market on Saturday, fresh produce, fresh local fish,or meat from the famous Corilitos Market. The garden is yours to pick during your stay. There is a deluxe therapy hot tub with two outdoor hot/cold showers to wash off after the beach!

Chris and Julia are perfect hosts and it was a pleasure to work with them through the entire rental process. The Beachhouse ist very beautiful, spaceous, brightly and very well maintained. We felt at home directly. The Bedrooms and bathrooms downstairs are cosy nests and the beds are very comfortable. The kitchen and leaving room area as well as the terrace are very generously. There ist everything you need for a perfect holiday. There are only a few steps to the beach and a lot of worth seeing spots are nearby. We had a very relaxing and experience-rich holiday in Nor-Cal. We first rented this house when our daughter was about to start UC Santa Cruz--we felt it would be great to have the extended family all together to help her with the transition away from home. This fall both of our kids planned to be abroad for the year so once again, to help with the transition, we came together to spend fun times as a family before we bid them farewell. We enjoyed everything about this spacious, clean, and well maintained home (including the little things like finding things like ice trays in the freezer, cooking oil & basic spices in the cupboards, plastic wrap, foil, coffeemaker with filters and even coffee probably left behind by previous renters), plus it was so great to have at our disposal wetsuits, boogie boards, beach chairs, bicycles, sand toys, etc. We realize how much goes into maintaining a property and we appreciated how well kept the house was, inside (furniture, bedding, towels, etc.) and out (hot tub, the grounds). The owner has gone out of his way to ensure that renters enjoy their stay. It truly felt like a home away from home for us. We just had to do some grocery shopping and we were set! Thank you for a beach house we hope to rent again and again...Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children, tourists without a car, pet owners, girls getaway.

Your home was our own slice of Heaven for the time of our stay. The location was perfect...one block to the beach and close enough to feel the ocean breeze and hear the sounds of the water at night! From the minute we walked into your home, we stepped into another world. Your attention to the small details made our stay awesome. The beach toys, the boogie boards, the bikes and the long driveway all brought huge smiles to our three girls' faces. I would highly recommend your home to anyone with kids who love to ride bikes, skateboard, rollerblade, etc. We toodled around the whole neighborhood, but your driveway kept my kids enthralled for hours on end! The jacuzzi was a great way to start and end each day. Your beds are probably the most comfortable we've ever slept on...including our own! The entire house had a light, happy feel to it. We couldn't help being in a great mood the entire vacation. Your description of everything was spot on. Your home was extremely clean when we arrived, the jacuzzi was warm and inviting, your recommendations were perfect! We ate at Cole's twice. I would highly recommend your home to anyone who asked me about it. One of the nicest things for us (that I didn't notice in your description,) is that your home is semi-secluded from anyone else, so I felt we were on our own private vacation! Thank you for opening your home to us. We're already planning our next trip to Santa Cruz, and we cannot even imagine staying anywhere else!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, pet owners, girls getaway.

Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home! Miss Bella (the precious pup!) & I had such a wonderful time strolling the beachs & hiking through the lagoon literally a block from your home! Perfect location! Also, the home is stunningly gorgeous from outside & the interior was incredible as well, I loved the high ceilings, the over all comfortable feel of the place & attention to detail throughout the home! One could sense a real pride of ownership! Plus, the home came "fully loaded" inside & the owners even provided all sorts of wonderful beach/surf items for kids & adults! Add to all that, an outside shower & a hot tub!! Wow! I also so enjoyed the surrounding area--found both Capitola & Santa Cruz to be such inviting little towns! Needless to say, I found it difficult to end my vacation here but look forward to returning one day soon! Thank you for just an incredible stay! Highly recommend to others!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this house. It is very well located in a quiet neighborhood close to the beach. The home is very comfortable, great kitchen and deck and hot tub. The owner provided wet suits and bikes and is very friendly. I would happily stay there again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children.

Our stay was very pleasant and most comfortable with everything needed to make us feel at home at the beach! We enjoyed the hot tub and would had loved to use the wet suits and surf but at our age I wouldn't want to try it for the first time! Next visit we'll have to have the grandchildren with us! We found the location to be perfectly located close to the beach and enjoyed some great walks on the beach. The fresh orchids where a lovely touch in your home. Thank you! Our time spent here was wonderful. Everything you need. Close proximity to beaches, hiking, restaurants, museums and water sports. We had our family with 2 young boys and there was so much for them to do. They especially enjoyed the hot tub as we all did. Great for families and also just to relax. Thanks Chris for sharing your lovely home. This house is beautiful, very comfortable and it is in the perfect location. My husband and I have a very busy family and this house was very accommodating to everyone. The Beach House provides everything you need for a beach vacation. There are bikes, boogie boards, wetsuits in various sizes, a hot tub, BBQ, and plenty of towels! The location is great. It is between Capitola and Downtown Santa Cruz, both spots have a lot of activities for everyone of every age. 26th Ave Beach is a short walk from the house. It is perfect for boogie boards and skim boards. It is also a pet friendly beach. The owners were a pleasure to work with, and it is obvious that they take great pride in their Beach House home. We are looking forward to visiting again........hopefully soon!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, tourists without a car, pet owners, girls getaway.

Everything the owner said was very accurate. The house was described as a craftsman beach home, clean and comfortable, close to the beach with lots of toys ! It had all of the above ! The owner was very excited to share his home and stories of the Santa Cruz beach area, which was very helpful ! I would follow the owners recommendations of trying out the Chardonay sail boat, and Crows Nest Restaurant......both very close ! I would definitely recommend his home to friends and familyRecommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, pet owners.

About the owner: We always loved Santa Cruz from coming down in the summers when we were kids. We came down and spent time at the beach, & boardwalk, with our families and friends. We would campout or stay at friends beach houses. There seemed like there was always something exciting going on.... as kids, teenagers, then young adults (the action at the "Boardwalk, beach parties, surfing, diving, sailing, fishing, entertaiment, bands etc). We still enjoy Santa Cruz and all the diverse beauty i.e. our mountains, redwood trees, ocean (on it, under it, riding it, see it change daily) and all diverse things Santa Cruz has to offer. I got lucky and became a REAL ESTATE BROKER at a young age and I am still ACTIVE in Real Estate...........sooo give me a call if you are interested in a property as I have lots of experience and knowledge after 35 years in residential, commercial, V/Rentals +.
Why the Owner Chose Santa Cruz:
The main reason we bought in this location was the e-z access to 26th Ave. beach (a big beautiful sandy beach with surf breaks)
This beach is not well known for a lot of tourists. Plus all the lots are BIG in this area compared to beach lot standards. Our lot is one quarter acre+ in size as were most of the lots in this particular beach area. The first house we bought had a 2,400 s.f. lot in Pleasure Point.......we wanted less density and more room, quiet, and space! I became a Real Estate Broker and realized the value of a larger lot.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
E-Z access to a beauutiful mile long beach. PRIVACY and QUIET because of our 1/4th acre lot. Enjoy ALL our beach toys! Boogie boards, wet suits, sun shades, "Tommy Bahama" beach chairs that make into a lounge, beach umbrella, kids sand bucket sets, cooler with handle and wheels, mtn. bikes, various size helmets and a cool old wagon to haul your beach stuff to the beach. Lay in bed at night and usually hear the surf and smell the ocean air!. A friiendly quiet property that is well located so you DO NOT have to deal with traffic to shop for food, clothes or restaurants. You can WALK to the cute town of "Capitola by the Sea" for wine tasting or a FREE concert (Wed. Eve) Walk or ride one of the bikes down to the Yacht Harbor /Boardwalk and check out all the boats coming and going.You can usually hear the "Free" Friday night Boardwalk concerts faintly from our deck and see the fireworks show. You can play family "board games" i.e. Monopoly, Clue, Trivial Pursuit + in the living room by the FIRE if you and your family so choose. Go outside and look at the stars. Walk or bike to Farmers Markets from the beach house. Pitch a tent on our lawn and sleep out side. Skateboard etc.in our 150+ foot long driveway. Mom your kids do not have to go into our dead end street to play. Pick fresh lemons, veggie's, rosemary, and flowers from our garden and yard. Off street parking for up to 4+ cars. We have lots of room for the beach area. BBQ (gas Webber Q) and watch the sunset from our deck right of the kitchen Dad.
