WELCOME TO YOUR RIVER HOUSE
Inside and out, this peaceful and spacious riverfront home is designed for comfort and adventure. From any room, step out to a 700-square-foot private deck complete with a chlorine-free six-person hot tub, outdoor kitchen with gas grill, and an outdoor living and dining area overlooking the river and pristine redwood forest. A canopy shades half the deck if you want to read or watch the river slide by on a warm afternoon, or recline in one of the lounge chairs if you’d rather work on your tan. Down the deck stairs you’ll find a shaded patio with the perfect outdoor living room and game room complete with a pool table and ping-pong table. The lush backyard is a private world unto itself, surrounded by Russian River fauna yet with enough open space for a game of soccer.
NEW RIVERSIDE DECK!
The house's star attraction is at the end of the lawn and down a short flight of stairs--a private riverside deck and seasonal floating dock on a deep and secluded bend in the river. The spacious, newly built riverside deck is like an outdoor living room right on the river. Shaded beneath a leafy canopy, it's the perfect spot for a riverside picnic or to lounge with a book/beverage. Parents will enjoy relaxing on the deck while they watch the kids swim just a few feet away. The deck adjoins a sunny floating dock where you can set out on excursion in the property’s fleet of boats, including a stand-up paddleboard, a two-person kayak, and a three-person canoe. Unlike fixed docks that leave you high and dry when the river is low, our floating dock and gangplank make it easy to access the boats regardless of the water levels, so the boats are available for use outside the normal summer paddling season.
MASTER BEDROOM AND BATH HIGHLIGHTS
The master suite has a king-size bed with comfy mattress and high-quality organic linens, bedside tables and an iPod/iPhone docking alarm clock. The room has a 36' LCD flat screen cable-equipped HDTV, along with an intimate seating area, large closet and dresser. A sliding-glass door offers private access to the deck and hot tub. Fall asleep to the soothing sound of the river, or slip into one of our plush complimentary bathrobes (2 included) and sip your morning coffee on the deck overlooking the river. The master bath has a tub and shower with a handheld massage shower head, plus complimentary body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and a hair dryer. Towels and washcloths are resort-quality.
GUEST BEDROOM HIGHLIGHTS
Both guest bedrooms feature queen-size beds, one with a memory-foam topper and one pillow top and high-quality organic linens. Each has private access to the house’s second full bathroom. Both rooms are quiet and spacious, with bedside tables, reading lamps, iPod/iPhone docking alarm clocks, and ample storage space in dressers and closets.
MEDIA ROOM HIGHLIGHTS
After a day’s long adventure on the river and a perfectly grilled dinner, gather your family and friends in the media room to enjoy one of the 300+ movies available in the house digital library. With flicks ranging from the Marx Brother’s Duck Soup to just-released blockbusters in high definition, everyone will certainly find something they can agree on! The library also includes all of the Pixar blockbusters and your favorite 80’s coming-of-age flicks the kids probably haven’t seen yet. The media room's 42-inch plasma TV is also equipped with a Blu-ray player, HD cable, and a DVR so you can record your favorite shows while on vacation. Music more your thing? Tune in music from any genre on our Pandora Internet-radio player. Start a jam band with the two guitars, bongos and shakers in the eclectic musical instrument collection. Or plug your iPod into the stereo receiver.

My husband and I and our six small children just got back from a five-night stay at the Russian River House and had a wonderful time. The house is just as described: clean, well-maintained, well-stocked. It is winter now, so we did not use the river, dock, or boats, but the weather was warm enough to take daily advantage of the yard--and it really is a wonderful yard! On the ground level is a basement filled with tons of outdoor toys, patio furniture, and a ping-pong table; just outside the basement in the shade of the deck is a pool table and outdoor shower; and then there is a large grassy yard with lots of trees and plenty of space to play. Beyond that is the river, which makes for wonderful views to the back. The next-door neighbors are close, but there was enough privacy for us; I imagine it would be more private in the spring/summer, when the trees are full and obscure the view to the right and left. From the main level of the house (second story) is a large deck, with a grill, patio table, and hot tub. I loved that it had enough room for all of us to eat at the table together! The children played outside for hours every day and we were able to use the hot tub in the evenings. The house itself was very nice. We are always sure to make sure we're staying in a pet-free, smoke-free home, and this home was as described--no smells at all (unfortunately, I can't say the same for all "pet-free" homes we have stayed at). The bathrooms were updated and very clean, with plenty of extra towels; the bedrooms had nice linens and lots of extra blankets. Once again, I loved that there was a nice, big dining table to accommodate us all and plenty of seating in the living spaces. There were lots of books, children's toys, and board games and a wide range of movies to choose from. The house is right along 116 which does get some traffic, but the noise wasn't bothersome at all; on the contrary, being right on the main road meant we were just a few minutes from Safeway, gas stations, restaurants, downtown Guerneville, etc. The location of the house was great--we spent one morning at Armstrong Woods (less than ten minutes away) and one at Goat Rock Beach (about twenty minutes away), both short and easy drives away. And on top of all that, Ramah was a pleasure to work with, very accommodating, quick to respond to emails, thorough and helpful. We received our deposit credited back just a few hours after we left! Excellent service. Highly recommend!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

This is one of the most comfortable and best managed vacation rentals I've ever stayed in, and was totally as described. The house is beautifully equipped and impeccably maintained. The amenities were first rate, from the small fleet of boats (we were there over Thanksgiving and were still able to kayak on the river), to the TV's with DVR library, pool and ping-pong tables. It's the only rental I've ever been in that actually offered a working computer as well as wi-fil. One example of superb management is how every light switch is clearly labeled, with other valuable and informative labels in the kitchen and front hall. And there was a complete complement of spices as well as more than a quart of Trader Joe extra virgin olive oil supplies, again, way beyond many other rentals where you need to bring your own spices and condiments. It's close to Gurneville, with many good restaurants (Boon is superb), as well as good food shopping, if you're into organic and vegetarian, be sure to visit Food For People, great store. It's an easy drive to the coast. And while, like most riverfront houses, there are neighbors on both sides, there is still adequate, if not absolute, privacy. But the view across and down the river are quite wonderful, it's easy to imagine you're in a camp on a wilderness river as you look across at the greenery and tree covered hills across the river from the house. Ramah is very helpful with local tips--we went for a hike in Armstrong Redwoods Park and it was most enjoyable. Highly recommended!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

Your Russian River House is a perfect location for enjoying the Russian River area. It is close to the ocean, close to the wineries, close to Armstrong Woods, and most of all, right on the edge of the river itself. For exploring this incredible area it doesn't get any better than this. As for the house itself there was really nothing lacking. The top floor has three bedrooms, a large dining, living, and partying area, a huge deck and hot tub and a nice kitchen. The lower level is stocked with water sports equipment, a pool table, a ping pong table, a bathroom and an outdoor rinse off shower. The owners have really stocked this house with about everything you would need to have a great time and to make your stay comfortable. In addition, the owners were very easy to deal with in setting up the rental, payments, etc., and are a wealth of information on the area and things to do there. They couldn't have been more helpful. A few of the amenities I particularly enjoyed was picking the fresh blackberries from the bushes on the property for my morning granola; sitting in the hot tub at night looking at the stars and watching the fog roll slowly in over the coastal mountains; learning to use a paddle board (at the ripe age of 64) to paddle up and down the river (now THAT was a freaking gas!); kayaking up to Johnson's Beach for a milkshake or a beer. Your Russian River House couldn't have been a nicer place to spend our vacation on the river.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

My husband and I chose this house for our 10 year anniversary and our first two nights away from our young kids (3 years and 1 year) in more than 2 years. We were both incredibly relaxed and spent the first night eating a yummy dinner grilled on the huge back deck and snuggling on the couch. Our next day alternated between kayaking and swimming on the river, the hot tub, lounging in the sun on the grassy lawn, reading, and watching movies. Our kids joined us on our last day along with my parents and we basically repeated all of the first day's fun over again, but this time we got to watch our kid's faces as they experienced canoeing and swimming in a river for the first time. We have vowed to put a deposit down for next year - only this time we will stay an entire week.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

Our family of seven had a wonderful experience staying at Our Russian River house. We loved the home when we found it on VRBO, and we were not disappointed. The location is great. We made the quick drive into town a few times and we took the short drive to the coast to do a little tide pooling at Shell Beach and see Goat Rock. While the home is on highway 116, the road noise did not bother us at all. Our kids (in the front rooms closer to road) slept well and we hardly heard the road from the master bedroom. The beds were extremely comfy and there was plenty of floor space in the bedrooms. By far, the best part of the house was having a deep water dock and four boats to use. We canoed, kayaked, and SUP’ed. We also all swam in the river, right off the dock. While adult life jackets were provided at the house, we brought our own for the kids to make sure we had the right sizes. The back yard is huge and gave our active bunch plenty of room to run around. The kids also made use of the ping pong table and pool table. The bathroom in the basement was used frequently, along with the outdoor shower. We couldn’t have asked for more from this home and the river.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

We had a wonderful time at "Your Russian River House!" What a beautiful and peaceful home. You really can't get much closer to the river without falling in. We loved taking a daily canoe trip with our two year old to a secluded beach just around the river bend. We found the morning was the best time to navigate the river. The kayak was quite fun too. I loved soaking up the sun on the lounger in the backyard with a good book and glass of wine. The backyard was just so peaceful and serene that at one point I even practiced some yoga when no one was looking. We loved the outdoor pool table, ping pong table and all the rafts and other items provided in the basement. The linens, dishes, cookware, games etc. were plentiful and really top notch. We enjoyed BBQs on the deck and the hot tub too! And of course the media center was awesome!!! Your Russian River House had everything to make this a really wonderful and memorable vacation. The town and people of Guerneville are pretty cool and welcoming too, eat at Boon or the pizza place by the bridge if you can! Or if you like wine tasting, Korbel has a wonderful tasting room and really yummy food! We hope to visit Your Russian River House in the future!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children.

The photos of the house are accurate. It's clean, modern and well maintained. The owners are responsive and gracious; the house is equipped for almost anything you can think of. The weather was bad during our visit, but we enjoyed the hot tub and the expansive movie selection. (We also swam and paddle boarded, despite the weather. The dock is very accomodating for swimming and water sports.) We also played ping pong. There are many wineries close by, we particularly enjoyed Porter Bass. A prior review noted Sophie's Wine and Cheese; we visited and found the selection of both cheeses and wines to be very limited -- not worth the visit. We would give the house and experience an "Excellent" rating were it not for the road noise. We went back and noted that none of the other reviews note the noise, so we may be particularly sensitive. We found the highway noise disturbing. Even sleeping with earplugs, we were awakened frequently. We place a high value on uninterrupted sleep, so were disappointed with this aspect of the house. Otherwise, we've stayed at many VRBO's and found Your Russian River House to have a high standard of cleanliness and amenities.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

After a dozen years of our 3 families doing spring breaks together with our kids, the kids are now all in college so it was time for an adult spring break. The wine country was the destination and after looking at many possible locations, we settled on Your Russian River House....Oh...what a find! It looked too good to be true on line and in the pictures but it is just as it is described, only a bit better. All three bedrooms were good sized, nicely decorated and with very comfortable beds! All the linens and towels were top quality and very clean. The living room/fireplace was intimate and cozy and the family room was spacious with plenty of room for all three couples to get comfortable, with plenty of opportunity for privacy or just to sit aside and read a book. A small desk, complete with local maps and a lap top computer for everyone's use and a very well organized house handbook provided all the info needed to use the entertainment system and find your way around Guerneville. The large wood dining table separated this area from the kitchen and the kitchen was well stocked and very well organized. Every conceivable piece of kitchen equipment was available as well as a significant number of spices and condiments for cooking. The deck had a nice and clean BBQ grill and the 6 person jacuzzi was wonderful. Downstairs was a pool table, a ping pong table, and additional lounge chairs, bikes, and for season, a canoe and a couple kayaks. The lawn was spacious for frisbee or whatever you might want to do. It was cool and early season so we didn't spend any time in the river but there was a nice float just off shore. A local Otter was seen a couple times grooming himself while resting on it! I can't say enough good things about the owners...every question, every email was answered promptly with great local information...local stores, restaurants, wineries, even masseuses! One referral was the local wine and cheese shop a few miles down the road toward Jenner. Sophie's. The owner, John was most helpful, generous with his opinions and spot on in the wines he recommended for our group. Plus he threw in some bread and cheese for good measure! A definite first stop on the next trip. Also recommend a couple small wineries...Hook & Ladder and Harvest Moon and Mushin were spectacular... All in all, a great place to stay and there are still a few places in Guernville that need further exploration. Will definitely return on the next trip to wine country!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2009
About the owner: Crispin and I are true adventurers, having tandem surfed in Hawaii and scaled cliffs at midnight looking for hot springs on the California coast. We frequently camp in our 1981 VW Westy camper lovingly named “Elfie” but live full time in San Francisco. We had spent many weekends camping and canoeing on the Russian River in the years leading up to finding Your Russian River House, and we fell in love with the Guerneville area. We were looking for a “project house” and knew this was it the moment we walked in! Dedicated to creating the perfect vacation rental home, we spent six months designing and renovating Your Russian River House. We think it’s a dreamy blend of adventure and relaxation for your precious vacation time--and hope you do to!
Why the Owner Chose Guerneville:
Western Sonoma County has it all! We chose this location because it’s close to all forms of adventure and relaxation, the star attraction being the Russian River. Your Russian River House is within the recreation-dam section of the river, ensuring swim- and boat-friendly water levels all summer long. The house is 1 mile outside of the Guerneville town center, close enough to go out to dinner at one of the many great restaurants, but far enough to never experience the summer crowds and traffic. You could fill an entire week with adventure having never left the house, but if you were ready to head out of the house, adventure abounds! Twenty minutes to Goat Rock, a pristine northern California beach; 100+ wineries are less than 30 minutes in every direction, the best antiquing in the area is in nearby Sebastopol; Armstrong State Park is 15 minutes away and shows off the beauty of the giant redwoods; River Rock Casino and Dry Creek Rancheria Casino are less than 1 hour away; hiking and biking trails are all around. All that, and only 90 short minutes from San Francisco!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We feel this home is unique because we have renovated it top to bottom with YOUR precious vacation time in mind, using eco-friendly materials and no-VOC paint. We wanted to make this home the central hub for the best vacation you have ever had, and with that, we have assembled a home with luxury and state-of-the-art conveniences you may not find in other homes. To that end, we are always open to comments and suggestions to make your next vacation here even better.
