The cottage was exactly what we expected! It's in very good share, clean and very functional with all daily utensils to have a long stay on it. We definitively enjoined our stay there and had a lot of fun with the kids. Jan is a very good person and 100% trustable. We will go back to the cottage by the next year.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+.

We quite enjoyed this cottage for many reasons. It is large enough for a large family to enjoy. It was old and very quaint. it could use a new paint job outside. I found the water at end of the dock is warm and quite deep for swimming. However entering the water is very sticky you must go off the dock. Beautiful well maintained land. We will rebook at this cottage.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.

We loved our time at this cottage. It had everything we needed, was beautiful, clean and we enjoyed our time there. We rented a power boat for the weekend with a local boat rental place, was very resonably priced and we had the boat from 7am until dark. We fished and fished and caught over two dozen little bass, muskie, pike, and sunfish. It being September we were surprise at how many fish we caught. We even caught two right from the doc at the cottage! We managed to catch two 3 and 4 pound large mouth bass from the rocky area on Sparrow lake!! We will definitely return next year.Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

A lovely cottage experience. Great location close to Gravenhurst and Orillia. Well equipped for cooking and housekeeping. Quiet riverside location, ideal for boaters and boatwatching. All essentials worked very well. Fast wireless Internet. Great BBQ, we used this for most of our meals. Charming and low key. Lots of room for guests and to entertain. Ceiling fans in every room. Swimming and canoeing in Severn river very pleasant. A good jumping-off place for cottage country road trips or Trent-Severn cruising. We docked a 24 boat at dock for several days and was an OK fit; advise spring lines and extra fenders as the boat traffic creates wake. Well managed by the owners. We would happily rent again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
Owner response: Thanks for being great guests. Guests like C & S make it a pleasure to rent our cottage.

We had a really great time at the cottage. The weather was great, and there was a lot to do. We canoed and boated, fished and swam. The cottage was definitely as advertised; the screened in porch was a great place to hang out, especially at night and we played cards and watched the river. Hope to be back next year! The kitchen was well outfitted too. It was also close to the necessities – the beer and liquor store, boat rentals and shopping.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway.

We had a great time in the evening playing Monopoly and cards in the porch with the kids. The cottage has a lovely front lawn and a dock that you can swim from. The water is very nice. We are boaters, so even though it's on the river it's only a few minutes up from the main lake, so we could take the kids tubing. There is also fishing right off the dock and in the lake. We took the boat through the locks into Lake Couchiching one day and spent a day on the water. We also went the other way on the Severn toward Georgian Bay and the scenery is just incredible.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2009
About the owner: Family owned cottage near our childhood home. Our family has looked after this cottage on behalf of other owners for many years. We recently decided to purchase it for our use.
Why the Owner Chose Muskoka Lakes Township:
This area is close to amenities, and well serviced, yet has a truly removed-from-it-all feel. Lots of great boating right at the dock. Sparrow Lake is only five minutes down stream. Georgian Bay, Lake Couchiching, and all the other great places on the Trent-Severn are close by. The Torrance Barrens is a 20-minute drive. The private Muskoka Wildlife Park is 10-minutes away.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
It's so wonderful to wake up in the morning and sit out on the porch and enjoy breakfast while looking over the river and the birds and wildlife. Later in the day we have a choice to go biking, hiking, or boating right from the cottage.
