The two-level condo, which sleeps up to six, has two large private lanais (balconies), one on the lower level, one on the upper. This was our first trip to Maui in 15 years. Also our best trip. Kahana Sunset had everything we could possibly ask for: nicely equipped kitchen, comfy beds, bright, pretty decor, beautiful Condo! People might need to know that BOTH bathrooms are upstairs though... We had our own private beach. Nice weather, sea turtles and whales outside our door. There was even boogie boards and snorkel gear for us to use. And use them we did. :) For shopping both Foodland and Safeway(Safeway Brand goods especially) had some reasonable prices and were fairly close to home. Nice drive along the ocean front to get there too. Of course Costco is on the way over from Kahului. Oh, we stopped at the Farmers/Flea Market over there too and bought ALL of our produce and fruit. It was affordable and fun. We made our usual snorkel cruise trip using 4 Winds. It was a nice time but due to weather we couldn't go to Molikini as planned. Went to Coral Gardens instead. We rented a stand up paddle board from 808-Boards. Probably the best $45.00 spent. Dallas(from Austin) delivers and picks up your boards included in the cost. Our family had never seen a Paddle Board before and our 14 yr old athlete daughter was a pro at it! It was fun to paddle out in our bay with the turtles. We're hoping to get back to the Island and our Maui "Home" next July. We so wish we could have stayed longer... Mahalo, Mike and Family

We have stayed at the Kahana Sunset for years and it is still our favourite accomodation in Maui. As far as we are concerned it is a hidden gem. The condo was great - was very well stocked with everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay. We have just come back from 3 weeks at this condo and it was just great. The beach, barbeque, location to other beaches, grocery store, coffee shops and restaurants are all so convenient. We will be back to paradise and can hardly wait.

My family and I just spent a week at Kahana Sunset and it was a very enjoyable experience. The first thing we noticed when arriving was how peaceful the community was. The unti we stayed in was near the top of the property near the office so checkin was quick and parking was easy. The unit itself is a middle unit and apparently is above another condo so I was constantly trying to keep my kids from running around the place as to not bother the neighbors since the place seemed so quiet. It was so quiet in fact that we were able to keep all the windows open in all the rooms all night and sleep peacefully. My kids are not the heaviest sleepers and their bedroom overlooked the parking lot but there were no disturbances the entire time there. We enjoyed the "at home" ammenities like a washer / dryer and full kitchen even down to spices in the cabinets. I'm a technology geek and having high speed Internet and a LCD TV in the living room was icing on the cake. We did not spend much time on the TV but a movie or two per week looked good on the nice TVs. The master bedroom has a very comfortable bed (I'm 6'4") and my wife and I slept soundly. My two daughters enjoyed sleeping in a shared "same bed" for the first night but quickly wanted to split the beds apart into two singles. That worked well along with the fact that they had their own full bathroom so there was no need to come into my room to bother me. Overall the place was very well maintained, albeit a little on the weathered side but then again none of the places were brand new. The community has been around for some time but did not look that old but occasionally not having a Ritz Carlton sized shower does remind you that you are in a condo. So, we will definitely be revisiting this places again considering the fact that it was not overcrowded, had a private beach, and was very reasonably priced. The owner is very pleasant to deal with and had answers to all my various questions prior to my arrival. A real "gem" of a place to stay...

We loved our stay here so much we went back to the same place. We feel fortunate to have found the perfect place to stay in Maui at a VERY reasonable cost. My husband and I traveled with our friends, another couple but we will be back next time with the two teenagers. The beach is superb, the unit is VERY clean and comfortable. Also, very close to shopping and dining ... and the brewpub of course ;-) Sea turtles abound at this beach -- we knew that from last year but this time we were treated to a monk seal sighting. We were in the water only a few feet away from it. Absolutely amazing!

Another couple and us enjoyed our stay, the condo met all our needs good location with a nice beach. The 2 bedrooms 2 bath was seperate and private. You could park right at the door with covered and shaded parking. It had nice decks which we watched whales and turtles in the morning while drinking coffee bring some binoculars. Mike was great to work with and the local staff was helpful and friendly. We made friends with a few of the birds on the deck as welI, we will be back. Thanks Mike

We just returned from a stay at this unit and I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our stay there. There is nothing like waking up every morning to a beautiful sunrise and a breathtaking view of the ocean outside your bedroom window. We spent a lot of time out on the large lanais every day to take in the view and whale watch at the beginning and end of each day. Our little ones really enjoyed spending time at the nearby beach and kiddie pool, and the condo was already equipped with a portable crib and high chair for our 10-month-old, as well as pool and indoor toys for both our kids - a few less things that we had to worry about for our vacation. The condo was really a home away from home for us and we plan on returning here again instead of the hotels in the area - you really can't beat the amenities and the price. Mike, the owner, is also really easy to work with. All in all, a wonderful experience - thank you!

My family and I spent a week in this 2 bedroom condo and just loved it. The condo itself is very well laid out with 2 full bathrooms and 2 giant decks overlooking the ocean. Our favorite part was the private sandy beach and reef just full of sea turtles, I even got some pictures of humpback whales doing tricks right from the deck. The owner has provided all the kitchen gadgets needed to avoid having to eat out every night, as well as some beach gear and lots of towels. It was also very handy to be able to park our rental car right outside the door to the condo.

The place was great. Most of our group stayed in Kaanapali, but they spent a lot of the time at this condo. Enjoying the private beach, snorkeling, paddle boarding, and swimming. There were turtles everyday for the snorkelers, some even swam up to the shore line, nice calm water for the swimmers, and a great beach and pool for the kids. I highly recommend for the convenience, location, and amenities.

My husband and I decided to take an adult only vacation and decided to stay at Kahana Sunset Unit E-6. After arriving, we quickly realized that this is the perfect family vacation getaway! Not only is the condo set up for families, the private beach is calm and smooth so there would be no worries for the children. As it was an adult only vacation, we comfortably shared the condo with another couple. Having the privacy of our own bathroom and a kitchen at our will made for a comfortable stay. The location is perfect as we were able to be very active and not leave this part of the island. Within minutes of the condo you can hike, swim, snorkel, body surf, and eat at any number of delicious restaurants. The nights were fabulous! The nightly star gazing from our private balcony was magnificent! These are just a few amenities and activities that we enjoyed. I highly recommend this condo!

I stayed at Kahana Sunset with three girlfriends (we are in our early 30's), and we had such a great time! The place was perfect and very clean! There was plenty of space and we loved having our own kitchen so we could cook and make food at home considering the expense of eating out every meal. We also used the grills that are right down by the beach, and they were very clean and easy to use (if you don't have a grill-master boyfriend or husband with you). The manager on site, Fred, was very nice and even helped us blow up our rafts. We loved the private beach for laying out and we went snorkeling around there too and saw all the sea turtles. We saw people with paddle boards and kayaks out there too. The view is to die for! The drive to Lahaina isn't bad (about 15 minutes), and we didn't have a problem getting a cab to go down there at night. Overall, I would highly recommend staying at the Kahana Sunset condo. It exceeded my expectations, and I couldn't have been happier with our choice.
