  Kahana Sunset -- and this unit in particular -- was just perfect for us. The beach there remained a favorite, even after explorations. We watched the sea turtles at night, which my daughter is still talking about. The condo was incredibly comfortable and really was ideal for two families each with a toddler -- quiet spaces for nap time, and the lenai for safe inside/outside play -- these details really made it easy for us to relax. What a great place you have! I know we hope to visit again.

  Kahana Sunset E-6 is the best vacation spot for a family on Maui! The location is perfect for being away from the busy tourist spots yet close to everything you want to see and do. It is easy to get to and offers a market, restaurants, horseback riding, hiking and zipline adventures near by. The beach and pool are wonderful and you are able to snorkel in the amazing cove right off the condo or relax by the pool and enjoy the view of the ocean at the same time. The condo is decorated in beautiful tropical accents, with a state-of -the-art kitchen and all the amenities you will need. The views from the lani's look out over the ocean and we could see whales breaching as we relaxing on our own patios. I would recommend this spot to everyone and I have! We are definitely going back again.

  The unit was wonderful. The updates are great. The lanais were wonderful to have meals and enjoy the Hawaiian breezes. We would definitely stay again. Thanks again Mike for being so accommodating.

  My brother, sis-in-law, boyfriend and myself (all in our early to mid 30s) stayed at E-6 for 4 days/3 nights. After a nightmarish debacle with our travel website canceling our flight, we breathed a sigh of relief once we entered the condo. The pictures do not do the property justice; it was a heavenly place to settle down for the next few days! The renovations were great and made the place feel homely and comfortable without breaking our budget and/or dealing with a hotel. While we were extremely busy with all our activities and didn't spend a lot of time in the condo, it was a great sense of comfort knowing that we would be returning to a quiet and safe community and sleeping in comfort every night. All the amenities of the condo and property were wonderfully maintained. I especially loved the fact that the property had it's own secluded beach! One of the highlights of our stay was being able to see whales from the lanais - absolutely priceless! All in all, I would highly recommend this listing to friends and family as well as returning ourselves for our next stay in Maui. Mike was super easy to work with, speedy in all the correspondences and answered all questions quickly and clearly.

  We rented this property directly from the owner, Mike, and found him to be very helpful and respond quickly to all enquiries. The unit was all that we had hoped, newly renovated and very clean at our checkin. The views from both lanais, particularly the upstairs, were breathtaking and at this time of year perfect for whalewatching. The beach was private and perfect for families, as well as the pool and hot tub. Located close by are markets, and restaurants. We didn't eat out often, preferring to stay at the condo and make use of the bbq's that are on the property, but there are many restaurants to choose from nearby. We'll Be Back!

  This was our second stay at this unit. We loved it the first time in Jan 2012. They have since remodeled the unit and it is amazing. Love the addition of the downstairs bathroom. The kitchen is beautiful (maybe nicer than ours at home, lol) Granite countertops and beautiful new appliances. Upstairs bedrooms each have there own beautifully remodeled bathrooms. The unit has everything you need for the beach, mats, frisbee, cooler, boogie boards, etc. The private beach rivals most beaches in Maui. So if you have been all over the island thru the years like we have you can be very content to stay on your own private beach and swim and snorkle with the resident turtles. We love this place!

  We just concluded our family winter vacation to Maui. Our first trip with our 6.5 and 15 month daughters. Everything you would expect to find in a great rental unit was at our fingertips. We had an amazing 8 day stay and think we have found another place for our girls to share experiences as sisters. As an added bonus we were able to snorkle with the turtles without ever leaving our home in Kahana. Epic visit. Can't wait to get back

  Unit E6 was everything we hoped for with a few extras as well. Our family of four (two adults, two teenagers) found the living and bedrooms spacious and comfortable and the breezes blowing in off of the ocean through patio doors and various vented windows kept the temperature just right. The unit has lots of light and was very clean. The three bathrooms and separate vanities eliminated any frustration over waiting for a space. The remodeled kitchen is beautiful with a great view of the ocean and had everything we needed. We took advantage of the small cooler and picnic wear provided to take our lunches and snacks with us when we went to the beach or on road trips. We also made use of the folding beach chairs, beach towels, boogie boards, games, novels, videos and guide books in the unit. The E building was quiet during our stay and it faces the ocean instead of the courtyard and pool so the lanais are more private than some of the other units. There is some noise in the back bedroom in the morning as the office and cleaning supply unit are across the parking lot but our kids mostly slept through it. The owner, Mike, answered all of our questions on the phone and responded quickly to our emails. Kahana is about a 45 minute drive from the airport area and although we drove around the island a fair bit (up to Haleakala, to Hana, to La Parous Bay and through the UpCountry!) we liked being out of the way a bit and there were several days that we spent close to home. We enjoyed snorkelling at Honolua Bay, Mile 14 and the Old Airport beach and we checked out the Nakalele blowhole and Olivine pools. We particulary enjoyed snorkelling with just our family and biologists Mel and CT of the Ocean Project who taught us all about marine life, snorkelling and underwater photography. We'd also recommend the China Boat restaurant just down the road, breakfast from the Gazebo restaurant at Napili (walk in and order take out instead of standing in line for 45 minutes and then eat it on your lanai), Ululani Shave Ice and the Maui Coffee Company in Lahaina (behind the Shell off the highway). The Napili Market just around the corner from the unit is great for groceries. If you continue past the Market and cross the highway, there is a great little farmers market on Wednesday mornings. We would highly recommend this unit and, when we (hopefully!) return to Maui, there is no place that we would rather stay.

  This is a great property and would recommend anybody to stay here in a heartbeat. Ka'anapali Beach claims that it was ranked #1 beach in the US in 2003... I thought the private beach area here at Kahana Sunset was much better. Green Turtles. BBQs. Property Management gave all guests bananas that they picked off of the property's trees. Washer/Dryer. Wireless. Clean. Newly remodeled. Quiet. Bunch of convenient baby stuff! Easy drive to Lahaina, Ka'anapali, Kahana, Napili. Perfect for little kids. Good snorkeling! Beautiful view of Molokai! Everything's so close and convenient. Hope to stay again!

  We LOVE Kahana Sunset E6! You won't find better than this, and as the owners state, "You won't want to leave once you get here." We stayed 10 days and it wasn't enough. We were the first to enjoy the new upgrades, and let me tell you that they are beautiful. The condo (decorator-wise) is gorgeous. We absolutely loved the kitchen--open and spacious. Out of the 10 days, we only went out to dinner twice because going to the local fish market down the road--combined with the BBQ's on site--made dinner at home YUMMY and easy. We can't say enough about the master suite. 4 mornings out of our stay, we woke up to full rainbows spanning the sky. It is positively breathtaking. The on-site beach is also amazing--calm, sandy bottom, and perfect for us to practice our snorkeling before venturing to larger bays (by the way we recommend Honolua Bay). I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this in other reviews, but we sure appreciated the parking situation, too. You just drive right up to your front door--so convenient. One of the best things about this condo is that it is close to everything but you avoid the busy, overcrowded areas of the big high-rises. Read our guestbook entry if you stay. We wrote about our favorite places on the island. We fell in love with this place. It was perfect for us. Our only regret is that we don't own it!
