  My wife and I along with our 2 teenage sons stayed at the apartment for a week and had a great time. The apartment was spotless and very well appointed and as described. The resort was also very clean and the facilities were Impressive. The owner was very helpfull and nothing was too much trouble. The lake was very low but this did not affect our stay. We have stayed at many VRBO property's and this was one of the best. I would have no hesitation in recomending it to anyone looking for a peaceful stay in the Texas Hill Country

  My husband and I rented this condo for the winter in 2013. The area is beautiful and the people likewise. The description of the unit was accurate. The grounds are maintained nicely. There is no lake currently as the water is 60% down from where it should be. Many docks sitting in the middle of a field. The indoor pool and work out areas are wonderful and no one uses them. We did have a couple of issues while staying in the unit. There is a serious lack of hot water, which was evident each day when one wanted to take a shower. Also, this condo is on the second floor and depending who is living over you in the upstairs unit you may experience noise problems. All in all a nice place.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners.

We are sorry for any inconvenience no matter how small. We all wish Lake Travis was completely full but it is still a huge lake that offers great views from most places on The Island.

  We had a wonderful stay at the Condo, which is comfortably furnished, with all the amenities required to have a relaxing vacation. The resort is well located with some beautiful views, it was a shame that the lake level was very low only 38% full. The facilities at the resort are excellent, fitness room, pools, and spa. Friday, and Saturday evenings the restaurant and bar are open and the food was very good and reasonable. We would definitely return, and recommend this Condo.

  We rented this condo while finishing the construction of our new home and enjoyed the Island for a month. The condo is well appointed and easily accomodated my family of 5. The owner was accomodating and provided good information about the property in advance. Although the lake level was low during our stay, we found the resort area to be very nice and enjoyed the surroundings. The deer were plentiful here and the environment was quiet.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children.

  We had an awesome long weekend at this condo. Everything was clean and comfortable. We felt right at home. Will be back for sure!

  My wife and I just concluded a two month stay in this beautiful and well appointed condo on the Island on Lake Travis, Lago Vista, TX, for all of April and May, 2011. If anything, the unit is even better than the owner's description. It was recently remodeled, and has excellent furniture, slate floors, granite counters, etc. One of the best features of the unit is a very large covered balcony which looks out onto nice trees and a cove. It is peaceful and cool considering it is Texas. As the owner says, although it does not look out on the lake the benefit is that units facing the lake receive huge sun exposure in the afternoon which can be intolerable. This unit benefits from the fact that in the afternoon the balcony is in the shade and is exceedingly pleasant. We actually ate every single meal at the condo for the 2 months out on the balcony, which has dining table for 4 in one section and a nice wicker sofa and easy chairs on the other end of the balcony. The balcony is very large. If you want a lake view, we discovered a secluded wooden deck overlooking the lake right next to a waterfall, which was about a 2 minute walk from our condo in one of the two pool areas, and that is where we went to sit with a glass of wine many evenings to see the magnificent sunsets on Lake Travis, and the boats going by. We can't say enough about the responsiveness of the owner. We had a few minor glitches during the two months, nothing major, just things you'd expect due to normal wear and tear, such as a leak in the washing machine and a malfunctioning grill on the patio. In all cases his responsiveness was incredibly fast and he immediately took care of the repairs without any issues whatsoever. Finally, the unit is incredibly well equipped for cooking. It has ample dishes, silverware, wine glasses, etc., and every kitchen appliance/gadget you would ever want, including blender, mixer, coffee maker, etc. It is as if you are in your own home, nothing is needed. He also has internet service. No pets, no smoking, which was very important to us. HIghly recommended. Good place to use as your home base for exploring Austin, San Antonio and the Texas Hill Country.

  My wife and I rented this lovely villa for an extend stay during the winter months. The furnishings are even better than described. The king-size bed was very comfortable as were the couch and chairs in the living room. We enjoyed sitting on the covered balcony relaxing and reading while watching the deer come onto the island each morning and evening. The indoor pool, changing rooms and workout area are luxurious and have the feeling of being pampered at a luxury hotel. The central location of the condo provided close access to the elevator and parking, along with easy access to the pool and exercise rooms. The fully-equipped kitchen was unbelievable. You won’t need to bring anything. All china, flatware, glasses, cookware, bake-ware, mixers, coffee makers and cooking utensils are provided. Having a washing machine and clothes dryer in the unit was very much appreciated. The owner of the unit lives in the area and was only a phone call away to answer any of our questions. He was very helpful in accommodating all our needs. We made many excursions into Austin and with the opening of toll road 183A the trip only takes about 30 minutes. We had a wonderful experience living in the condo as snowbirds and were sad when our stay was over and it was time to leave and head back North. We have great memories of a relaxing time spent in a beautiful condo. I highly recommend the owner and the unit for your experience of unexpected luxury in a beautiful setting. This is one of those rare occasions where expectations are met and exceeded in so many ways. Rent this unit with confidence!

  We had an enjoyable stay at this lovely renovated condo. Unfortunately, upon move out we were charged for drawer pulls that were broken when we got there. My fault, I guess, for not alerting the owners but irritating nonetheless. More seriously, the remote Internet modem went "missing" between our move out and the next guests who arrived within hours. We didn't take the modem and were careful to replace it exactly where we found it. The owners confirm that it isn't in use, so they haven't accused us of taking it, but they are nevertheless charging us almost $400 to replace it. The owner has presented us with a bill based on damage that existed when we moved in and a modem that we don't have. Very disappointing end to a lovely stay. We have stayed at many vacation homes and have always had great experiences with owners who were trustworthy and fair. This time, we ended up actually having to write a check to preserve our own good name. I'd recommend this place, but only if you do a thorough walk-through both at move in and move out with the owners themselves.

  Owner response: It is always unfortunate when there is a problem such as damage to the unit or an item is removed from a rental property. I have always done my best to work out an acceptable settlement when these problems arise and have been a trusted landlord for over twenty years. I do not know what happened to the internet card but I did provide proof to the guest that I have spent the money to replace the item. That is all I can do.   We found the unit to be as described- beautifully remodeled and decorated. Furnishings are top notch- beds are comfortable and made up with quality linens, bathrooms well stocked with quality towels (including beach towels) kitchen is well stocked with quality cookware/dishes, and bar stocked with all the tools (glassware, corkscrews, etc). All you really need to bring to this unit are groceries and your clothes. We found the very large patio to be especially nice- spent most evenings here watching the many deer grazing the property. The complex is as described- pools and grounds are beautiful and the unit is very conveniently located close to the club, indoor pool and rec facilities, and parking. We are frequent VRBO renters and found this unit to be one of the highest quality that we have rented to date- the owner is very helpful and has prepared a thorough information package to help you plan your visit.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
