"Monkey Business" is fun and convenient for every age group. The location is a real plus! It is near the bike trail, 75 yards, three houses to the best beach, and a four minute, three short block, walk to Coligny with its shopping, restaurants, and entertainment.
What sets this home apart is the outstanding attention to comfort evident in every detail. From a spectacular pool (largest private pool in North Forest Beach) with room to swim laps, to good reading light in the bedrooms, to every imaginable utensil in the kitchen, the owners have thought of everything.
The decor is fabulous - the art, rugs, furnishings, and decorating combine to create an atmosphere that is special from the moment you walk in. The owners have used their experience as bed and breakfast owners and long time Hilton Head renters and owners to make this home perfect for any vacation.
First Floor:
Enter into the large living room, furnished with two leather sofas and a linen sofa, Romweber case goods, 32" HDTV, bamboo hardwood floor and an interesting designer rug.
Dining Area: Large dining area, drop-leaf tables seat 16, beautiful tile floor
Kitchen: Newly remodeled, completely equipped, granite counter tops, island with four swivel adjustable stools. Brand new appliances. Owners are gourmet cooks, and it shows. Multiple pots of every size, baking pans, casseroles, knives, serving pieces for a crowd, several fun sets of dishes, fish forks and lobster crackers, and glasses galore. Even a cabinet fully stocked with spices. Small appliances include a griddle, waffle maker, mixer, blender/smoothy machine.
Wet bar and galley area provide convenient access to the back stairway to the pool as well as living room and stairs to second floor. There is a powder room as guests enter from pool steps and the laundry closet is conveniently located as well.
A fabulous new addition: enter from the kitchen/dining area or from the deck to back porch and stairway to the pool. Comfortably furnished with breakfast/lunch dining table, chairs, sofa, love seat and recliner.

Ground Floor:
Pool: The largest private pool in North Forest Beach. Enjoy the built in spa. The roped off shallow end is great for kids. Toddlers are happy in the pool and on the deck for hours while the next generation can swim laps, play volleyball,play water basketball or laze on rafts. Frontgate lounge chairs, patio table with chairs and round table with comfy Brown Jordan bounce chairs ensure plenty of seating. Large gas grill and "Big Steel Keg" charcoal grill/smoker are available.
Screened in porch at ground level is adjacent to the pool, a great place for shade and to relax, access to pool deck and to ground floor air-conditioned "pool kitchen", with second electric range and refrigerator and a TV for those who want to be near the action but totally out of the sun.
Garage/Storage area is stocked with toys for your use: bikes, beach chairs, cart, sand toys, rafts, floats, boogie boards, balls, jogging stroller and two sit-on-top kayaks on carts for easy transport to the beach.
The backyard pool area is completely fenced-in and private.
At Monkey Business a car is not necessary. Access to the best beach area, bike path, Coligny Plaza restaurants, supermarket, shopping, miniature golf, tennis, are all within an easy walk.
Wireless DSL service is available throughout the house. Cable TVs in all of the bedrooms, some with VHS and DVD built in.
Kaba Webkey keyless lock system is installed for your convenience. No worry about losing the keys, waiting for another family member to arrive to let them in. Our guests really appreciate the convenience of this feature.

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
Jackie has always wanted a pool that she could "swim laps in." We had noticed the pool at 19 Dove two years before the house was on the market. We saw the sign, looked at the house, Jackie imagined the possibilities, we made an offer and bought the house. We then set out to make over the house to our standards and create a very comfortable environment for our guests.
The Unique Benefits at this House
We love the convenience to what we think is the nicest beach area on the island. We walk every morning and evening and have met many great people on these walks. It helps that Turbo, our standard poodle is a real stand out on the beach.
The Piggiy Wiggily Market at Coligny Plaza is so close and the service and selection are very good. We make daily trips to the seafood counter to take advantage of the deliveries of fresh local caught fish and shrimp.
We enjoy cooking, grilling and smoking in the Big Steel Keg we bought in 2010, but we do find it hard to resist going out for dinner at the many local, chef-owned restuarants like Charlie's and The Sunset Grill.
Jackie goes spinning at BreakThrough Fitness several times per week in addition to lap swimming. Family time is spent in the pool cheering on each sibling and grandchild as they try to out do one another on the diving board.

Our family has been vacationing in the North Forest Beach area for over 30 years. Our four children "grew up" vacationing during the summer here and now join us at Thanksgiving and Christmas for family gatherings. Bill is an attorney and manages his own investment advisory firm. Jackie is a high school English teacher planning to retire in June, 2012.
We have operated The Rossville Inn, a bed and breakfast in Hamiton, Ohio for the past 14 years in our pre-civil war home.
We enjoy entertaining and cooking and are avid readers and bridge players.
Jackie loves remodeling and decorating projects and it shows. She is an avid gardener.

We were very impressed with Monkey Business! The home is beautifully decorated and accomated 3 families very well. The pool was very large and it made swimming one of our favorite things to do while in Hilton Head. It is a very short walk to the beach and so convenient to Coligny Square. You could bike or walk very quickly and safely. We definitely want to come back to HH and stay at Monkey Business again!

"Monkey Business" met all of the needs for our family group of 14. The house had all the amenities that we needed, plenty of bathrooms, a wide assortment of kitchen utensils and appliances, ample parking and extremely close to the beach! Everyone loved the pool, and there was barely a minute that at least one person wasn't in it. The pool is especially great for swimming laps and the teens loved having contests that involved the diving board and dunking the basketball. The beach was so close that is was easy to go back and forth many times throughout the day. We rented some bikes, and there were a few in the garage that enabled many in our group to take bike rides together along the trail right outside of the house. The downstairs kitchen had an extra fridge that was great for keeping the beverages cold and was a great airconditioned extra space. The upstairs porch has a great table for playing cards which was one of our nightly activities. The bunkbed room worked out great as we were able to put all of the cousins in that one room, and all of the bedrooms had ample space and very comfortable beds. During the week, the pool was cleaned twice and the handyman came around a few times to check on things. This house had everything that we needed and more! Thank you Bill and Jackie!

Having rented multiple large rental homes in Hilton Head, we can say that Monkey Business is our favorite. The owners certainly understand the concept of exceptional customer service. The house is loaded with everything one could want in a rental home and the location can't be beat – walk to the beach and Coligny Plaza. If there is a better pool in Forest Beach, we'd sure like to see it - our kids were in it from sun up to sun down (the pictures do not do it justice). We have thoroughly investigated rental homes in Hilton Head for years and can say without hesitation - book this home and you will not be disappointed. We can’t wait to return!

Our three generation family of 16 had a wonderful time staying in this warm and welcoming home. "Monkey Business" is in an ideal location-just a very easy,short walk to the beautiful beach and to Coligny Circle with it's many shops,restaurants and grocery. The adults really enjojed using the 2 kayaks provided and there were plenty of beach toys for the little ones. To quote the grandkids"the house and pool were awesome !!!". The pool is really large and has a nice shallow end for young children and diving board in the deep end , This pool is truely the nicest and largest pool we saw in our walks around the lovely streets in this area. Bill and Jackie Groth have a great home to vacation in-the decor is really fun. We certainly hope to return and would highly recommend"Monkey Business" to our family and friends as well as any visitors to this web site that are planning a trip to Hilton Head. Just returned from a week at "Monkey Business". We were a party of 15 for a few days and 10 for the remainder of the week. There was ample room for everyone. My family had so much fun by the pool and beach that my 14 year old son mentioned to me on Thursday on our way out to dinner that this was the first time he had been a mile from the house! We've been to Hilton Head Island before several times but this time we had so much fun at home we didn't have to go out and look for it. Thank you Bill and Jackie for sharing your home! Marie

Our family has vacationed on HHI for many years now. "Monkey Business" is by far the best experience we have had. The house is roomy and the"monkey theme" fit our family to a tee! We enjoyed the pool,hot tub, and bikes. A stay in "Monkey Business" is truly a vacation!! We hope to visit again next summer!

We have vacationed in Hilton Head 12 times over the years and the rental of "Monkey Business" is the ultimate of vacation homes. The owners definitely made sure the vacation we planned would be awesome from their end. Perfect house - beautiful, comfortable, roomy, no detail left out. The large pool, hot tub, bikes, kayaks, rafts, volleyball net for the pool, added up to total fun for our family. A short distance to the beach and stores was wonderful.
