My friend and I were looking for a quiet, relaxing, beautiful place to spend the weekend. Maple Cove met all of those expectations and more. Debra, the owner, really thought of everything possible that you might need while staying there. The house is beautifully decorated with quality and tasteful furniture. Everything from the beds, to the couch to the chairs just call for you to sink if and relax. And the views......you can't even see the entire expanse of the water from the deck in one shot. It is incredible! The house and the view are much more spectacular than what is portrayed online. Whidbey Island Winery is right down the street and was wonderful. The town of Langley is such a peaceful little town. The Star Store is a great place to stock up for your stay. I would love to stay there again in the future!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Our stay was fabulous! I thought the cottage was more beautiful than the photos! The view was spectacular! I didn't realize how much of the water we'd see! The kitchen was well stocked with everything you needed for cooking...far exceeding what I expected. There were also so many extras, like all the DVD's and games, and binoculars, and extra folding chairs and tables. I hadn't realized it was so open in the kitchen/livingroom area. So perfect for visiting with family members from 3 different states! Yes, Debra was great at keeping in touch and answering questions. I would highly recommend this unit to friends and relatives. As far as the area, it's so gorgeous! Langely seems to have everything you could want as far as stores and restaurants. We attended a rehearsal dinner at a small restaurant, the Braeburn, and it was very cozy, great food and friendly staff. We're were simply tickled with how nice, and clean, and well maintained, and really beautiful the home was. Very welcoming in every way. We would definitely stay here again, and are recommending it to our Seattle area relatives!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

What a beautiful view! The deck was our favorite place to be any time of the day. It is a quick drive up from Seattle (30 miles) to Mukilteo to board the ferry for a 15-20 minute ride to the town of Clinton on Whidbey Island. The charming town of Langley, WA is only 10 miles from the ferry. The Maple Cove Beach house is about a mile from Langley, with a deck that views to the East across the sound making for gorgeous, misty sunrises. The house was perfect--immaculately clean, charmingly decorated, and very, very well-stocked. Paper towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner and all the basics were there along with everything needed for a cozy stay. There was not much we had to buy except food--even spices, condiments, sugar, tea, coffee filters were supplied at the house when we arrived! The restaurants in Langley are excellent, so we didn't do much cooking except for snacks and drinks for our nightly toast at sunset. If you want to cook, everything you could even think of is provided for meal prep--the kitchen has all the equipment! The house has cable TV as well as a good supply of DVDs, games, books etc. Our cell phone reception was fine as well as wifi. The house sits up on a small cliff, so beach access at the house is not available. A pubic beach is a very short walk away, though--lots of rocks and driftwood. The back yard is fenced, so no worries about little ones falling. Langley has about 5-8 restaurants and many places to get a cup of coffee and sweets. Breakfast and lunches are hearty at the cafes and delicious dinners can be eaten at Prima's, Langley Cafe, Langley Inn, and the neat little pub on first street. We ate out almost every meal at the various eateries, and were never disappointed in the quality or quantity during the entire week. The are several tasting rooms for local wineries. The grocery store on 1st street is extremely well stocked with high-quality foods, produce, wines, beer and liquor. We had a great time just wandering through browsing the gourmet sections, cheeses etc. There are also quite a number of boutiques, specialty shops, and book stores in the little downtown of Langley. The people were very friendly and relaxed. It is a very wonderful place to have a relaxing vacation. Debra was friendly and helpful when she stopped by to drop off some linens (She called first) and we were delighted to get to meet her. Maple Cove Beech House and the town of Langley is very special! We will be back again!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This is a clean, well-maintained, tastefully decorated home with a million-dollar view. We had sunny days and warm temps and enjoyed sitting on the deck looking out onto Possession Sound. Whidbey Island is quiet, not crowded, and walkable. We had lunch at Whidbey Pies in Greenbank. It was mediocre and expensive. Buy your groceries before coming to the island - it's cheaper than the local grocery stores.Recommended for: Age 55+.

"Bittersweet. That's how we feel on this last day at Maple Cove. Heading home after being some place extraordinarily special always feels this way. I arose every morning at dawn to a brilliant sunrise, happy to explore the many special spots on the island or spend a leisurely one right here picking blackberries and making them into tasty crisps. When the gray days of an Oregon winter creep in, we'll dial up this week in our memory and think of our next visit...."Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2006
About the owner: I am a native Californian that has had the opportunity and pleasure of moving to the great Northwest 15 years ago and experience all that there is to offer. I love island life and enjoying the magnificent water views and abundant wildlife. Urban life is always just around the corner which provides a get compliment to Washington's natural beauty. I have two wonderful Daughters and love being a Mom and am a Caterer by trade. I love decorating and gardening and have poured this into my Langley home.
Why the Owner Chose Langley:
Langley was instantly appealing to me. It is a quaint seaside town reminiscent of New England yet it is a mere 30 miles from Seattle. A perfect setting to enjoy the water and outdoors. One can enjoy a variety of activities from kayaking, fishing or golfing. The trails and variety of beaches to explore are boundless. I have loved exploring Whidbey Island! Langley has the perfect mix of shopping, dining and the outdoors.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
You will be able to enjoy the peace and serenity of the slower pace of Whidbey Island while still having convenient access to all that the Puget Sound has to offer. You can have the opportunity to closely observe Bald Eagles and other wildlife as well as the possibility to see Grey Whales (seasonally) and seals. You can spend endless hours clamming, fishing and beach combing or just taking a nap on the deck! For dining in Langley, for the adventurist palate dine at the The Inn at Langley with Chef Matt Costello for a true foodie experience, or the best pizza west of NY try, Village Pizza. The list goes on and on!
