Nicaragua Oceanfront Villa with Spectacular Pacific Coastal Views
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:Yes
This 2007 Oceanfront home sits 200 feet above the Pacific overlooking some of the worlds most spectacular scenery. Nestled in the secluded, private, gated community of Rancho Santana, about 50 miles north of the Costa Rican Border, your vacation here will be one of the most peaceful, relaxing, and awe inspiring trips of your lifetime. The home is designed by a reknowned Nicaraguan Architect and is very modern and open in style. Every room in the house boasts sweeping ocean views. The huge outdoor living space is well furnished and shaded. A negative edge pool at the oceans edge is a refreshing spot to relax after a day at the local beaches. Very famous surf breaks at Popoyo, Santana, and Iguana are just a very short distance making this a world class surfing spot. The house is handicap accessible. Tennis, horseback riding on the beach, fishing, golf, hiking, wildlife viewing and of course surfing are all nearby. There are several local restaurants to enjoy and daily maid service.
About Children at the house.: This house was designed for spectacular views from every single room of the house. The ocean is visible even from the front porch and laundry room area. Railings protect adults in balcony areas but have wide areas between the rails for better views. These rails will not be safe for small children. The lower patio opens onto a lovely grassy area adjacent to a 200 plus foot sheer cliff to the ocean. Falling from this cliff would be fatal and it is not safe to go near the edge. It would not be safe for small children to play out in this grassy area. There is an unobstructed patio edge that has no railing on the ocean side of the deck to again open up the views. Small children would not be safe in this area also.

WOW! What a unreal place to spend a week. Words can't do justice to how great a time we had at Rancho Santana staying in this house. The way the house is setup is awesome, the huge outdoor common areas were so great, and having that infinity pool never hurts. My favorite thing hands down about the house was the view. The coolest thing was that being so high up, you could walk to several vantage points around the house and your view changes at everyone. Eating breakfast and dinner at this place never gets old, I could have stayed at the house and never left and been completely content. The ranch is equally amazing. Five beaches accessed by dirt roads that were fun as anything to drive on. Some beaches we would be on for 5hours and not another person would step foot on it (our favorite was Escondita). The clubhouse has a huge pool and a great restaurant and bar with a friendly staff. The list of things to do here are limitless. The best vacation I have ever had hands down, what a house, what a area, what a country. I will 100% be back here, there is zero doubt in my mind.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

My husband and I enjoyed a weeks stay at this house. The view when entering the front door is breathtaking. The drive from Managua was interesting. We stopped enroute to get groceries. The house is very comfortable. The kitchen is very well equiped. The house is a great place for lounging and watching the sea and bird. We had waves crashing underneath our clff. We were within walking distance of the restaurant and bar. There are other small places to eat within a fairly short drive. The food was excellent and very inexpensive. The developement is gated and well maintained. We felt very safe at the house. The maid cooked us some great breakfasts. Most nights we chose to stay here and cook for ourselves so we could enjoy the long and amazing sunsets views. We did deepsea fishing with some local fishermen. The people were very helpful to us. We spoke only a little Spanish. The staff does know some English and one could manage with a translation book and a bit of Spanish knowledge. The design of the house is wonderful. It is very oriented to the outdoors but there are airconditioned bedrooms and living room so we were very comfortable. The bedrooms had lots of storage. The furniture was made to go with the house. There is a hammock and a negative edge pool. The pool was very refreshing midday after an outing. There is abundant shade and often a very nice breeze due to the design and location of the house. We did go on an overnight trip via ferry to Ometepe Island and that was very interesting side trip. We stayed at a lodge called La Omaja. The hike to the falls was beautiful and challenging. the owners were very helpful in answering our questions. The photos and description are accurate. It is handicap accessible which is a big plus. This is a wonderful place to recharge yourself. We would definitly rent this house again. We would make a special trip to Nicaragua to stay here.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, adventure seekers, people with disabilities.

This is one of the most well kept, modern, and nicest places I've been able rent. I've rented homes in Alaska,California,Wisc,Minnesota,Florida,New Mexico,Colorado,Utah, Washington,NewYork, thru out Mexico,Canada,France, Italy and England and definitely feel this was the most architecturally unique and well thought out designs I've stayed in. The place was immaculate and the daily maid and gardening service provided a hotel stay feel. The layout is excellent for three couples or comfortable for up to 8-10 people depending on how cozy you want to get. We surfed/boogey-boarded daily on pristine beaches-sometimes w/ no one around for hours. We were able to rent entire boats(w/ captains) for fishing and exploring for a whole day for less than what it typically costs for a single person to go out for a half day in California,Florida or Mexico. Most of the shoreline appears to be National Geographic material w/ areas that I wonder if ever have been stepped on by a human. We never had a bad meal out of the six days we were there w/ most of the restaurants being self-proprietary. Wonderful breakfasts are 3-6 dollars and dinners are 5-20 dollars per person including wine and/or rum and tip. The property(Rancho Santa) it self had the feeling of being in Scottsdale,AZ w/ its beautiful clubhouse, pool and yoga center. The food costs at the clubhouse were slightly higher, however, still a fantastic value. If you're looking for an adventure type vacation or a get away for peace and tranquility I would put this place at the top of my list. My highest accolades to the owners for designing and providing such an outstanding home. There are 3 bathrooms(not one).Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers, people with disabilities.

We had a great stay at this house. What views. The description of the scenery and coastline views from this place were not at all exagerated. The maid, Carla, made breakfast for us a couple of times even though we don't know much spanish and had to use hand signals etc to communicate. She was a peach and did most of our dishes. We gave her a small tip and she was very appreciative. We hung out for hours in the cliffside pool and really thought it was fun when the waterfall was running into it from above. The rooms were nice and clean and everything worked fine, internet, sat TV etc. The house is located in a peaceful spot of the development away from noise etc, but we could still walk to the clubhouse restaurant and bar, and beaches, which were quite nice. I would describe the house as a very modern design with an open tropical feel. You can hear the waves crashing against the rocks and we had several fly by sessions with the local pelicans at eye level. We spent way more time at the house than I had thought we would as it was so beautiful and peaceful up there. I have never stayed at a place with better ocean views. This is a place for people that really want to get away from it all and have a super laid back type of trip. Surfers would have a ball here although we didn't try it. We did do some boogie boarding which was a blast. The horse back riding looked like fun but we never got around to it. All in all, I would return again in a heartbeat and highly recommend this place to other folks looking for a fun, adventurous and laid back vacation. Oh, and we felt very safe there too. The development is very large, several square miles I think, and gated. The local people were very friendly and courteous, even with our poor Spanish. I liked the whole country to be honest. This house is wheelchair accessible which was very unusual down there.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, people with disabilities.

Year Purchased: 2007
About the owner: We are the proud owners of this beach house, BalconesDelMar, Tom and Cindy Rogers. We purchased our lot in Beautiful Rancho Santana about eight years ago and visited there many times before deciding to go ahead and build. We currently reside in north Phoenix, Arizona and plan to make this our part time retirement home one day. We personally visit there several times a year and wish we could be there more. We enjoy hearing from folks that have stayed in our house and enjoyed it. We hope you reserve it and love it like we always do.
Why the Owner Chose Tola:
We visited for several years and met many other owners there. We are learning our Spanish and have also fell in love with the local culture and people. We feel it is one of the most beautiful and unspoiled beach areas in the world and right on the doorsteps of the USA. We love going to a place where you can still find an unspoiled beach with few other visitors. We pinch ourselves everytime we stay at our house as it has the most
amazing views of any hotel, house or villa we have stayed at anywhere in the world, and we cant believe it is ours.
