Our stay was very comfortable and private. Enjoyed Thanksgiving with our family and hosting several meals in the gourmet kitchen. Our grandson enjoyed watching and feeding the birds. Pictures of the property are a true representation of what to expect. We will be back!

This is a beautiful property. The photos do not do it justice. We were comfortable and relaxed from the moment we arrived. Kevin, the owner, was very helpful and accommodating. He has taken care to provide the little things that make a difference in a rental. The kitchen is a dream to cook in. The outdoor spaces really make this home special. We had meals in the Lanai by candlelight and also enjoyed playing cards outdoors sheltered from the bugs and rain. We hope to return very soon.

I stayed here with my sons, sister, brother in law, brother, and nephew. There was plenty of room for all of us, and it was so comfortable as well as wonderfully furnished. Each bedroom offered it's own charm. The outside shower and the lanai were our favorite parts. And of course, the fact that it's so close to the beach makes it perfect. We loved staying here in the Summer, but it would be gorgeous in the fall too. Either way, this place is such a wonderful vacation home, and Kevin is so friendly and welcoming. We are definitely considering making this our traditional family getaway!

It is not easy to relax with 5 children, but we were able to accomplish that and more at the Hummingbird Retreat! It was very clean and comfortable. We hope to return in the near future

My husband and I stayed here over the 4th of July weekend a year ago along with our two adult children and then two weeks ago I returned again, this time with my two sisters in tow for our first sisters' getaway. And like the first visit, had another great, relaxing weekend at this very comfortable, well-appointed and uniquely decorated home. Our personable host, Kevin, stopped by to make sure we had everything we needed and provided some suggestions on things to see and places to go, as well as helping us with lining up an extra bicycle to rent. There's easy access to the Rawley Point bicycle trail about a block from the home that you can either ride into the state park or head in the other direction toward Two Rivers. Beautiful beach begging to be strolled at Point Beach State Forest and then another one that will surprise you in town--Neshotah Beach. You can choose to take yet another gorgeous ride along the lakefront on the paved and landscaped Mariners Trail. Be sure and stop at West of the Lake Gardens if you're on that route for a free tour. We've really enjoyed getting to know this area and one certainly can't go wrong with this property rental--we highly recommend it!

This is absolutely beautiful. Very peaceful and relaxing setting. It is very artfully decorated, soothing, and comfortable. The decor and location is interesting and fun for adults and kids but also very very nice, clean, and comfortable. It is not right on the water but very close to park and beach and the setting is so nice you feel very relaxed without the water. I would highly recommend it.

I'm giving this place three stars when I normally would give it five. This place is beautiful and the pictures don't give it justice. Kevin is very friendly but we still have not received our security deposit and it has been over four months. Kevin has not replied to our emails or our voicemails and it is very inconvenient on our part to constantly be calling and emailing.

We (my wife, and two sons--22 and 17) had a great time at The Hummingbird Retreat. The modern kitchen was put to good use. The place is not big, but when you add in the screened-in porch building and back patio and yard, there is lots of space to relax and hang out. (15 family members came over for some grilled brats and there was plenty of room...luckily the weather cooperated!.) A great beach in Two Rivers is just a 5-minute car ride, and the beach at the state forest is just a 5 minute bike ride. We did a day trip to Door County. And enjoyed the Hamilton Wood Type museum and Connie's Diner in Two Rivers. Did lots of bike ridign on the ste forest trail and on County O. The house has a fresh modern design with lots of natural light. It's a very relaxing setting...and we did see a good number of Hummingbirds. It's a great value for the money.

We really had a great time. The weather cooperated, but that wasn't totally why. Kevin was a gracious host. He popped by our first full day to make sure we had everything we needed. But he already had everything in place. All towels, linens, beach toys, board games -- all there. And TR/Manitowac is such a fun area -- much less crowded (during the week) than Door County. The cabin has a screened in patio off the deck where we played family Scrabble, cards and even beer pong! Plenty of room for our little dog to play and a short drive to Neshotah Beach, downtown TR and a short walk to bike and walking trails. We will definitely go back next summer and maybe make it a winter weekend getaway for the wife and I. Try it out ! You'll love it.

Everything about this place is Awesome. Kevin was there to greet us and the place was just immaculate. It provided an oasis for every member of our family including our 3 boys (ages 9,7,3). Kevin provides everything you can imagine so you can melt right into your vacation. All we did was pack our bags and show up. Everything else is there, even a washer and dryer! A quick trip into Two Rivers for Food and we were set for the stay. We especially appreciated how kid friendly the Hummingbird Retreat is. From the inside to the outside the vibe of serenity, relaxation, and enjoyment are apparent. The lanai was a huge hit. Again, every detail was applied to the general atmosphere. Just incredible! In the mornings we jogged on the trails and took scenic walks along the shoreline. During the days we went to Point Beach State Park to enjoy the beautiful beaches and hours of play in the crashing waves. Evenings were spent eating smores at the campfire, enjoying beverages in the Lanai while playing games or snoozing in the hammock, and a movie night curled up with popcorn. A kid favorite was the stop at Port Sandy Bay for pizza, and the Washington House in Two Rivers for Ice Cream Sundaes (the locals informed us Kevin helped restore part of it). The pictures do not do justice to how wonderful this place really is. I highly recommend a stay here for anyone, including those with children.
