Perfect for mini-retreats!
Perfect for mini-retreats!
It was perfect for our three-day retreat! The view of the lake was amazing. The house was clean, warm, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. We had everything we needed. The owners were very helpful and quick in answering all the questions I had. The pictures here don't do justice. The house is even lovelier than what you see here. Would definitely come back and recommend it to others.

Gorgeous home, but be aware.
Gorgeous home, but be aware.
This is truly a gorgeous home on Keuka Lake. It is beautifully maintained and has everything you could want for your vacation. There are two kitchens, so two ovens, which is great if you have a big group. The house is decor is lovely. We have been renting for years and the layout and beauty of this home ranks as one of our favorites. There is a dock and beach area for swimming and boating. Keuka lake is gorgeous and we thoroughy enjoyed our week there. However, be aware that they owners expect you to clean the house completely before you leave. If you do not, they have a list in their owners manual citing the cost for each item if you forget to complete it. Things such as $25 per piece of furniture not moved to its original spot, charges if the deck chairs are not put on the correct deck, $5 for each bed not stripped if you get linens. Towels needs to be washed and dried and put away before you leave on Saturday morning at 10 am, or there is a charge per towel not cleaned/dried/put away. The list was extremely detailed and quite frankly a little ridiciulous. It stressed us out such that we spent our whole Friday night washing towels so that they would be dry by the time we left on Saturday. When we arrived all the towels smelled like mildew since the previous renters probably did not have time to completely dry them, so they were put a way a little wet. Don't get me wrong, the house is beautiful, and we had a great week. But these itemized charges are not listed on the lease, so you are not aware of this going into your vacation.

Owner response: Thank you for such a great review. Having fully rented our house for the last 4 summers, we have learned quite a bit. It is on the lease that the house must be returned to the condition it is found in. This only helps with the next renters having a great time. In 4 years it is the first time I have heard that the towels smelled of mildew. But, it is funny that this renter that is complaining about a list that is in the book, once you arrive was not charged a cent? But again, in 4 years you learn. The list in the book is EXTREME to say the least because I wanted to reduce it to the ridiculous for a reason. There is a fee if the cleaning team has to spend the 3 hours to prepare the house for the next renter outside instead of in. The chairs on the outside deck is convenient for the renter to have on the deck, and not spread all over the beach front, or around the patio/firepit, and blowing all over. Stacked on the deck helps for everyone to have a chair when they arrive and not have to go find them. The other penalty is that there are 2 large tables, and when all chairs are placed in the lower level, that doesn't help the cleaning team to get all their work done. They still clean the house no matter what, and have all the sheets to clean/bleach and dry and put back on beds. The towels are the hardest to get done, so if they are at least started and left drying when they arrive, it helps a ton! We have only charged for major issues: ice buckets with wine in them left on the bar downstairs overnight, and totally ruining it, Parking on our front lawn where the septic is, to cook a pig??, parking on the street so that the neighbors and emergency vehicles can't get down the road, a yoyo in the upstairs toilet, and a broken TV from kids kicking a ball inside the house. I will give you an example, we decided to stop into the house for an hour this past week, in between renters, and what was found was just stupid that we couldn't have been notified!? 2 bulbs out in the main floor bath (cant buy them in PY), Broken Master blind ($500 custom order for top down bottom up), a wood handle on the cabinets broken in half, a face front of one of the drawers ripped right off, a statue taken to the second floor and kicked down the stairs to leave a hole in the wall at the bottom and left the statue broken ... SERIOUSLY?? We have rented houses all over and always leave them in better shape then when we arrived. I guess I just expect the same.
If you are thinking about renting this home.. DO IT!!!! you will not be disapointed... We had 5 coulples for a weekend wine tasting tour.. We have done this multiple times and this is one of, if not, the nicest places we have been to.. our only regret was that we did not have enough time to spend at the house to enjoy the view and the decks.. Thank you to Cindy and her staff.. We will be back!!!!

Paradise on the Lake!!
Paradise on the Lake!!
Just returned today from a long weekend at this wonderful house and I must say, the pictures do not do it justice!!! The house is amazing and every detail was well thought out. The group we were with have already started to think about renting it in the summer. Everything was close by - groceries, shopping, wineries, etc. without being too close. Plenty of room for everyone and the beds were very comfortable. Thank you for a wonderful weekend and hopefully we will be back in the summer!!

Owner response: Joellen, Thank you for the feeback! It makes my husband and I happy when someone appreciates our home! You are welcome to back anytime! Thanks for taking good care of the house!
We've been renting homes for years in a number of locations. This home ranks at the top of the list. Very beautiful, but also well maintained and very clean. More than enough room for a large family. An added bonus is that it is very accessible as my mother uses a walker. Watching the sunset from the decks is a guaranteed stress reliever.

We worked with Cindy to make our summer vacation plans. We were so amazed at the size and comfort of this incredible house. We had a large party of guests and all had a perfect taste of why we love Keuka. We have rented on this site before, this house surpasses expectations! Look for the painted rocks... it's our tradition!

Great place to relax
Great place to relax
My family had 12 members stay here and it was a great place to relax and enjoy the Finger Lakes. Beautiful home with new furnishings and comfortable beds. Many things to do - fishing, wineries, outlet stores. Hammondsport was a great small town with cute shops with reasonable pricing. The cottage has several levels - the young adults had a hang out area and the parents had a peace and quiet area! I would definitely go back..This is definitely a place to relieve stress and enjoy the wonderful Finger Lakes region.

Owner response: Sue, Thank you very much! I actually think that is the first time anyone has called our house a cottage! hahaha When we call it the cottage, and then friends arrive....they tell us that it is truly a LAKEHOUSE! Thank you for renting and so glad that you had a great time!!
We stayed here for the first time! WE have already told the owners that we will be back next year and may rent for 2 weeks!! having 3 different decks and 3 seperate families.. we could have our coffee off our master, and then have all the guests on the second deck, and the kids could be on the bottom. All seperate. Wonderful place for a fire and smores with the lake right in front of you!! Very comfortable and a lot to do!! Kids had games, and movies to watch on the rainy day, and they could play the golf games..like at an amusement park! HOw fun! The Pacman machine was a little sick, so we couldn't play that too much! Excellent accomodations, and ktichens were well stocked.. so was the bar after we go there!!! The downstairs frig kept our Beers ICE COLD!! Great time, relaxation!! The owners were great!!
