There was a full house of us staying during a long weekend. Despite there being several of us, it never seemed crammed inside the cabin. Kitchen was very functional to make most of our meals, sleeping areas were comfy, and heat/water were not issues at all. Homewood Ski is within 5 min. away and walking trails nearby as well. Plenty of VHS/DVD (yes, VHS!) of classic Disney & 80's movies! During the winter nights, it's a great way to remember the glory days, or show your kids what good movies are.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children.

Overall, we liked the cabin. It was a few minutes from the Homewood ski resort. and fairly close to Squaw Valley. The cabin was cute, clean and well maintained. We were just four people staying, but I guess the living room area is a bit small for 8 people. The one-person jacuzzi was pretty nice after a day on the slopes. Just beware that once you fill it with hot water, it may take the water-heater quite some time (definitely more than 30 minutes), to reheat the water. I had to shower with cold water after using the jacuzzi. The CO alarm went off once for no reason. We had to call the owners, but their numbers were long distance and the cabin's phone could not dial long distance. We were lucky that our cell phones had a bit of reception. So, we called the owner and he helped us out, and checked on later if everything was OK. It would be great if the owners could provide a local number that can be reached with the cabin's phone. They can get a local number from Google voice for a one-time fee of $10, and redirect it to their cell phone. Other than that, it was great. Would definitely stay again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you for your comments. We will look into the Google option for the telephone. This is the first that we knew of it, and we have a family member who works there!! The cabin has room for 7 people on couches and love seats, as well as for additional stools beneath the cocktail table. This is the first comment we have ever received about there not being enough room for eight people; we have often entertained many more than that in the cabin. The water heater is relatively new. I will have it checked. Thanks again for your comments and your willingness to stay again.

".................We have taken our family numerous times to Tahoe over the years, but we want you to know that this is the most relaxing we have experienced. The house exceeded our expectations and the skiing, snow shoeing and boarding was excellent. Thanks so much................"Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
