Guerneville cabin description
Come relax and unwind in a tranquil cabin in the trees. Located just a mile from downtown Guerneville near the idyllic Russian River, this charming hillside cottage is perfect for a romantic retreat, an outdoor adventure, or working on that novel you've been meaning to write. You truly feel away from it all in this peaceful setting with stunning forest views. Simple vintage furnishings and a lack of distracting technological amenities allow you to enjoy the quiet curled up on the couch in front of a fire or lounging on the spacious, private deck with outdoor shower and tree swing. Take a short stroll to the neighborhood beach at Summer Crossing, or explore the many wineries, restaurants, hiking trails and antique shops in the surrounding area.
Built in the 1930s as a summer getaway, the cabin was beautifully crafted from local redwood trees with a number of delightful details that make it unique. The lower level has a cozy bedroom with a built-in full size bed. The bathroom has tiled floor and a redwood shower. Exit the lower level to go up the stairs to the upper level, which has a spacious open living, dining and kitchen area. The living area has a comfortable convertible bed in front of a wood stove. Sit on the stool at the bar while your loved one prepares a meal in the kitchen equipped with refrigerator, stove, oven and utensils. Enjoy your meal at the dining room table while looking out over the trees from the giant picture windows.
Kids and pets are welcome at your own risk as there are no child safe railings on the deck and no fenced-in area for dogs. The cabin is on a quarter-acre of wooded land on a hill. There are about 80 steps from the parking area to the cabin (see picture #14), so it is definitely not wheelchair accessible and may be difficult for the elderly or those with knee problems. The privacy on the hill is worth the trek!
Due to its lack of central heating and insulation, the Treehouse will not be available for rent in December and January. This is the first year we have extended our season to include November, February and March due to popular demand. We do this with the caveat that it may rain and could be very chilly, but if you want it, you got it.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and loved this cabin! The views are amazing and we definitely took advantage of the wood burning stove. It is a very short walk to the Russian River and not far from town either. This is a great little place!

My husband and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary at the treehouse in Guerneville. The location was fantastic. We spent a week exploring all of Sonoma County, and we were a beautiful, easy, drive from everything. The treehouse was very clean and charming, with a cozy stove and nice patio. If you go in the Fall, definitely bring warmer clothes for the morning, and dress in layers! It's amazing how much the weather can change in a day (by almost 40 degrees!). The stairs were fun and makes the treehouse very private, but do make you breath hard when you lug suitcases or a case of wood! We are runners and still noticed this!! :) I would recommend this place in a heartbeat! The owners are quick to answer with any questions and were great!

A perfect place to relax
A perfect place to relax
My husband and I spent four nights at The Treehouse. It really is a romantic retreat. Privacy and peacefulness abound. We loved everything about it. The 80+ steps make it even more secluded; so, as they describe it, "it is not for people with mobility problems." The cabin was clean and conveniently furnished with cooking utensils. The newer structure is sensitively added to the original and well maintained. We brought our canoe and stored it behind the gate without difficulty and were able to canoe on the river with easy access down the road a bit. We would definitely recommend staying here. We would definitely recommend staying here and will stay again.

A special place
A special place
A the end of a three week road trip through California, this place came as a welcome and rewarding surprise. It's rustic yet refined and removed from the more commercial areas of wine country, but close enough to take full advantage. After dinner swims in the warm river just a five minute walk away were especially fine. It was a perfect retreat for our family.

A redwood retreat
A redwood retreat
This is truly a lovely cabin in a magical setting. Despite being in the tall trees we enjoyed some sunny afternoons on the deck where we settled in with our books and paints. The cabin is simply and comfortably furnished with thoughtful interior lighting that really shows off the beauty of the redwood. (Impressive carpentry indoors and nice stonework outdoors.) We really appreciated that there were several nice places with good light for reading-- even in bed! It was a great place to enjoy nature and get away from the hustle-bustle. Do heed other reviewers advice about the steps and don't overpack. We cooked several meals and found the cooking and serving implements to be more than adequate. Unless you are training for a decathalon you will not want to make unnecessary trips up the steep steps. But once you are up there you will be very happy indeed. The owners seem very nice!

Great stay. Just what we needed. Close access to the wine districts. Biked a great route suggested from a Santa Rosa Bike club. Nice and quiet when at the property. We will come back to this place, if it is available when we need it.

Why the Owner Chose Guerneville:
We fell in love with this cabin the moment we saw it. It is absolutely charming and we feel removed from the stresses of the world while we are there, yet we can head out and be at any number of amazing restaurants in minutes. With the Russian River just a short walk away, the beautiful coast a mere 15 minute drive, and the amazing unpretentious plethora of wineries nearby, this location has all the best Sonoma County has to offer. We have traveled extensively, and we feel it is truly one of the best locations in the world.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
We have intentionally kept our cabin as simple as possible. While we are there, we don't want the distractions of television or the internet. Other places may offer more amenities, but our peaceful place is perfect for reconnecting with nature and one another or just enjoying a good book in silence. Plus, there aren't too many places private enough that you can enjoy a shower in the outdoors under the redwoods.
