We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home and province. One of our party found the source of his family roots, two became engaged out on the island here in Brigus South, and the kids enjoyed a week full of family time (hikes, board games and the ocean). We can't say enough about Randy and Darlene, yes, they are gracious hosts and are a wealth of information, but they are also great people. If you could choose your neighbors, they would be at the top of your list. Thank you.

We brought our two children to visit the land of their ancsestors for many generations. This beautiful house with its fabulous views of the coastal scenery was the perfect base for our various sightseeing excursions. We were treated to typical Newfie hospitality in addition to touring some of the historical sites around the island. We were especially impressed with the monument at the location of the signing of the Atlantic Treaty in August of 1941. The site was in a remote location along a winding road, but had been carefully tended to commemorate that historic event. And finally, we were won over by the assistance of Darlene and Randy who patiently answered all our questions about the house and the area, we had a lovely dinner party in their home. Thank you!

We hate to leave this beautiful place. We enjoyed watching the whales and the fishing in the cove. Many thanks for your hospitality and this well equipped home.

Spent a beautiful few dats here in this beautiful house. Time to relax and reunite with sisters from "away" as our mother would say. Can't top the scenery anywhere. So enjoyed waking up to see whales from the window and for the first time catching caplin in our hands. Looking forward to next year, picking blueberries like we did as kids.

Our team stayed at Anchor Rock overnight for team building and a retreat. It was absolutely perfect. The view is amazing and we loved being next to the waterfall as it lulled us to sleep. We took advantage of the East Coast trail and went for a hike. Our only regret was that we had to leave after one night. We have already recommended Anchor Rock and will continue to do so and we plan to return for our next retreat in the spring. The person managing the property was extremely friendly helpful and accomodating.Thank you so much.

We had a wonderful 4 day stay at Anchor Rock in Brigus South. We drove down from St Johns to Brigus South during the arrival of Hurricane Igor. We survived the Hurricane and we received a nice welcome from Darlene and Randy, the next door neighbors that manage the property. Provisions were provided for the first breakfast and there was a good supply of condiments and spices available. The kitchen is very well equiped with cookware and dishes. Anchor Rock is beautifully finished inside with all of the modern conveniences needed to enjoy a wonderful vacation in Newfoundland. The house is very clean and had plenty of sheets and towels. It is by far one of the nicest places we have rented from VRBO. There was nothing better than to wake up in the morning and watch a beautiful sunrise from the east and look out over Brigus South Harbor and Brigus Head. We took an incredible photo of one of the sunrises. Darlene, the property manager, showed us around one day and gave us some pointers on what to see and do in the area. We enjoyed taking a Whale and Puffin cruise with O'Briens out of Bay Bulls. We didn't see any whales or puffins as we were too late in the year but we enjoyed the narration, scenery, and maritime songs that were sung by the narrator. We also enjoyed a wonderful gourmet picnic at the Lighthouse in Ferryland. The setting couldn't be any more special and it is something not to miss. If you want to enjoy the beauty, culture, and scenery of Newfoundland that the Irish Loop on the Avalon Peninsula has to offer, then a stay at Anchor Rock is highly recommended. You won't find two friendlier people than Randy and Darlene. We have a two year old son, and the house worked out great for us. We will be sure to return again to stay at Anchor Rock and see more of the Avalon Peninsula and visit with our new friends Randy and Darlene.

What a perfect spot! We loved everything about Anchor Rock Lookout. You've thought of everything and the neighbors (property managers) Darlene and Randy really make it a very special place. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home. The views are incredible. It was great just sitting on the decks looking out and having breakfast with Lady (the neighbor's dog)! We had a wonderful time, hiking many points along the East Coast Trail, watching for whales, doing the picnic at the Lighthouse, taking the puffin tour at Witless Bay, visitng Cape Spear and Signal Hill. But most of all, we loved coming back to Brigus South. This is our first trip to Newfoundland. We hope to come back again and again.

Our stay here was the most beautiful experience. We enjoyed every moment from our sleep to the next day waking. We would like to take this time to express our Thank-you for the chance to be in your home. From the morning coffee on the back porch and watching the whales, something that will never be forgotten. You are also blessed to have such beautiful and amazing neighbors (property managers)- Darlene and Randy. They made our stay welcome and are for sure the friendliest people we have met in Newfoundland. Memories our family will share forever and I think a piece of my hears will stay in Newfoundland until we returen. Thanks again.

Just got back from a two week stay stay at this fabulous vacation home with a million dollar view. We got lucky and booked this property blindly from the internet. We had no referrals or knowledge of the owners/managers prior to renting the property. Everything about this vacation property is first class. For the price of a run of the mill motel, you can enjoy a fantastic home. This place is better than the photos. It is a brand new home, 3.5 bathrooms, 3 large and 2 smaller bedrooms with new beds, linens, towels, flat screen televisions (4), appliances(6). The kitchen is fully stocked. No need to worry about the everyday provisions. Spices, oil, sugar, coffee, tea, popcorn, kleenex, toilet paper, paper towels, binoculars, hair dryers, etc., are plentiful. A litre of milk, orange juice, half dozen eggs and breakfast ham was in the refrigerator waiting for our first breakfast. The unobstructed view of the ocean from the wraparound porch, upstairs balcony and all east facing windows was nothing short of spectacular. We sat for hours just watching the ocean, reading and relaxing. There is even your own waterfall. The property is managed by the next door neighbours and they were the best. They are as involved in your stay as you want them to be. They were just the best hosts you could want. Brigus South is a lovely little port with a great, working wharf and a population of lively, friendly and interesting residents. We golfed, hiked, went whale watching (on boats and from the porch), visited neighbouring ports/towns, ate in local restaurants, bought seafood from local fisherman, made friends and 'chillaxed'. St. John's is only 45 minutes away (if you drive like a resident). We thought we would go to St. John's a lot and do a lot of touring but in the end we spent most of our time near or in Brigus South and our vacation home. This was one of the best vacations of our lives and this vacation home was of unparalled value. Two thumbs way, way up. We hope to return.

We were able to stay in this first class home for a week and to celebrate our 50th anniversary with family and friends. The owners are so very thoughtful with all the accommodations, the home is so fitting for several people and the neighbors are so very helpful. We recommend this as a wonderful vacation home. There are hiking trails, archeology digs, and other adventures such as kayaking nearby. What a wonderful vacation. Try it you will love it.
