The only disappointment was that the cable was out during our stay, so no wi-fi. If you don't care about the wi-fi, this place is perfect! It has a quirky laid back beach house feel. Very Very clean! Nice appliances, & close to everything. Garden area provides all the shade one could wish for. The home is chock full of necessities. Bring your groceries, and clothes & you are all set. There was coffee, beach chairs, beach towels, washer, dryer, detergent, and even some eggs left in the fridge (date still good). I believe I even saw an umbrella stroller in the closet.

Owner response: We do offer free high speed WIFI and cable. Unfortunately, our local utility replaced the power pole and damaged the cable/Internet feed. We made every effort to get a response from Comcast but unfortunately they didn't get the repair done. It was unfortunate but out of our control despite hours on the phone. Luckily, we now have a local contact at Comcast in the event of another catastrophe. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience.

Probably the cleanest home on the island. We have been staying on IOP for seven years and this is by far the cleanest place we have stayed. The oners are wonderful!

Delighted with this beach house on Isle of Palms. It was so clean, roomy, and decorated like a home and not a rental. House was exactly as described and everything was provided, even shampoo & coffee. Went with mom, sister and nieces. We will definitely stay here again if we go to the Charleston area. Very convenient for visiting Charleston and surrounding areas. Charleston by day and beach in the evenings. Can't beat that. Much better than a hotel in Charleston and only a 10-15 minute drive.

Beautiful rental! 'La Casita' is immaculately clean, well appointed with unexpected creative touches, and stocked with necessities for your stay (bug spray, plenty of towels, beach chairs, etc). The beach, as well as restaurants and shopping, is just a few blocks away. Other things to do in Mt. Pleasant are a short ride away, and downtown Charleston is just a bit further. I had a chance to meet both the owners-they are very friendly and helpful. I was glad to learn they strive to use environmentally friendly products throughout their rental; there are also recycling bins at the rental. The owners provided a list of travel tips, including restaurant recommendations, prior to our arrival. We visited one on the list, Long Island Cafe (on IOP)...their dilled shrimp and crab cakes were delicious! We also enjoyed an enormous plate of nachos at Banana Cabana and spicy shrimp and grits at Acme Cantina (all on IOP). The gift shops at the front beach area had a good variety to choose from; one even has a real talking parrot! I have already recommended this place to a friend and hope to return again :)

My family visited the little blue house 6/2 - 6/9 and found the home had everything we needed for our stay. There were four of us and our dog, and found the home charming. Unlike many other properties on the Isle, this home is managed by it's owners and not a property management company, so you get personal attention. For example, one evening the owner brought over a stack of beach towels and laundry detergent without being asked. We really didn't need to bring more than just our personal belongings. The owners had the house stocked with soaps, coffee, towels, tp, cleaners, boogie boards, beach chairs, a stroller... the list goes on. Super nice, super thoughtful on what visitors may need. Just one thing, we did not realize the home is a split property with part of the home rented out as a one bedroom / condo... so we had to share the yard and be mindful of our toys, bikes, ect. The home is a great value, but if you are looking for absolute privacy, this may not be for you. We would stay here again. The home is lovely, and very close to the beach.

This was really a great stay - it was the perfect size for 4 people (and a dog!). The house was equipped with anything we might need, it was so close to the beach and in a wonderful neighborhood, and the outdoor area was nice and shady. The property was very clean upon our arrival and the owners provided great communication. The drive into downtown Charleston was very easy, and the owners provided us with a list of restaurants and attractions to check out which was a really nice touch. This house was exactly what we needed on our vacation.

It was a great house the family really did provide everything from beach towels and chairs to aluminum foi. I enjoyed being within walking distance to the beach and just a short drive away from shops and entertainment. There was a tv in every bedroom wonderful outdoor space privately fenced in. The only complaint I would have is that the outdoor space wasnt as private as I would have liked because the house is actually 2 seperate living spaces one being a 2 bedroom house and the other being a 1 bedroom house in the pictue of the outer part of the house it shows both houses because they are attached one is the main part the other beig more like a guest house. If both are rented out at the same time you have to share parking spaces and there is only 1 covered carport which is the one everyone wants to park in. You must share outside spaces, grill, and also the picnic table provided. I did not know when I went that I would be sharing these things I thought it was all just 1 private house I'm not sure if that was wrote in the description of the house somewhere and I missed it but I wish I would have known ahead of time. Lucky for my family the other couple didnt come outside much and didn't seem to bother us but it would be bad if the 2 families didn't get along because you are sharing a lot of the same close spaces. Another thing is there are absolutely no curtains so the other family in the house can see straight into your living room and the house next door can see straight into your kitchen and if you don't keep the shower curtain closed the house next door can also see straight into your bathroom. I would give this place a 7or 8 out of 10. Great place but privacy could be bumped up a notch.

Owner response: Thanks so much for your input. We thought we were very clear on the description of our property. The Homeaway and VRBO main listing is: "Charming 2 Family Tropical Beach Cottage". Sorry you didn't understand and sorry for any disappointment. When we listed this home as a 2 family we knew it wouldn't appeal to everyone. We know some folks need total privacy. Luckily, in 3 years of renting it, most of our clients have loved the home and the shared aspects are rarely an issue. There is a shared courtyard, barbeque and laundry room (with 2 entrances). I am sorry the kitchen wasn't private enough. We lived there for years and never found the neighboring home (40 - 50 feet away) intrusive. We opted to leave this window and the living window, which sits behind the huge Palmetto tree and oak tree, without curtains to bring in more light. All the bedrooms have blackout privacy shades. We strive to offer our guests well appointed, impeccably clean accommodations and feel badly when someone doesn't have the perfect visit.

Great house for our family of 3 and dog. The house is emaculately clean. After traveling with a dog for many years, I've learned to seek out the cleanliness of the place we're staying most of all and this place didn't disappoint. Also, everything is provided, including toilet paper, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent...you name it. It is such a quick walk to the beach even for transporting a toddler and all of her "things" and a dog to the beach...so that says a lot. Convenient to lots of restaurants and the lovely Charleston, SC! The courtyard is very well-kept and so relaxing (with plenty of room for a dog and toddler to play). I just cant say enough positives about this place, we will definitely consider it next time we come to Isle of Palms (which is pretty much every year).

My family and I rented both sides of this duplex for the Cooper River Bridge Run. I honestly could not believe how clean it was! There wasn't a piece of dust anywhere. It literally has everything you might think you need. The location couldn't have been more perfect: two blocks to the beach and just a few short miles to the race start. Plus, there were great restaurants within walking distance. I really hope we get the chance to stay again!

Nice property. Well maintained. Kitchen is fully stocked with plates, cutlery, bowls, dishes, etc. Nice bedrooms. Comfy beds. About 1.5 blocks to the beach. Perfect. The only downside is there is only one bathroom. Had a great time and would definitely rent this property again.

Perfect for us. Extremely clean, everything provided; in fact, we jokingly said we expected the owners might show up to turn down the bed for us and put a peppermint on the pillow! Shhhhhh. Don't tell too many people about this wonderful house. It will be our first choice at IOP from now on. We got take-out from Acme Cantina and Long Island Cafe a couple of times but the dining highlight for us is always Seewee's Restaurant in Awendaw, a few miles up Hwy 17.

We live in Richmond, Virginia and were looking for the perfect beach destination that was both pet friendly and affordable. Lucky for us, the Blueberry House became available and turned out to be the best deal on the East Coast! My husband and I have a 16 month old and 2 dogs, so we rented the 2 bedroom and had great neighbors next door! We enjoyed have the courtyard and being in close proximity to the beach. There are fabulous restaurants on Sullivan's Island (about a 3 minute drive across a small bridge), great little shops in Isle of Palms and Mount Pleasant (there is also a Whole Foods and a Trader Joe's!), and you are just 15 minutes away from Downtown Charleston! The owners were so nice and very accomodating. The house is ultra clean and they use all eco-friendly cleaning products. The coffee they provided was delicious and fair trade. Really, the owners provide everything, including a washer and dryer that came in handy for us (remember - 16 month in tow!). Our dogs enjoyed our get-a-away just as much as we did. This house was the perfect vacation spot, and we hope to rent it next year! We highly recommend the Blueberry House and want to extend our sincerist thanks to the owners for providing such an amazing rental that was perfect for our family.

We rented the one bedroom unit for a week and absolutely loved it. The property was very clean and perfect for pets (we had two dogs with us). The owners were very helpful and hospitable - you only have to bring food and clothing - everything else was provided. Great location. Very affordable. We highly recommend this property!

This charming house was so cozy and had all the comforts of home. The owners did a great job with the decor and providing all the essentials needed for a getaway. The courtyard was gorgeous and great for grilling out or just hanging with the family. The fenced yard was perfect for my dogs. It made my vacation even better to not have worry about walking them on leash!!! Only two blocks from the beach... what more could you ask for! We will most certainly make it back to the Isle of Palms and stay here again!
