good romantic place for two! Or friends reunion! Beautiful view of the lake and stars at night. The house is clean and cozy - full of antiques. Kitchen has got anything you need. Real organic vegetables and fruits in the area. Saturdays fresh WARM meat for barbecue. Niagara Falls close by. looking forward to come back next year!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children.

Cottage was comfortable and more than adequate in size and features for two adults. The remodel is well done and comfortable. However, why bedrooms were not also remodeled remains a question. They are not in keeping with the decor, style, and comfort of the remaining accomodations. Exterior lighting is either absent or not functioning. Porch lacks railings and represents a hazard. Stairs from porch lack handrails and represent a hazard. Water access limited or non-existent unless the guest is adventurous and athletic. Neighbors are not pleased that the property is used for rental.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

My husband and I went with our 3 teenagers. This was a beautiful house to stay at. You do need a car to get around, but the scenic drives are worth it. Plenty of wineries to visit for the adults; I can see a romantic getaway for just us in the future. Everyone enjoyed themselves.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

My stay at the Butterfield Cottage was terrific. It had all the amenities I needed but the best was the front porch and my private view of the lake. I had breakfast every morning on the deck and relaxed with reading and the afternoon cocktail. The sunsets are spectacular. I will come back as soon as I can. Property was clean and comfortable, photos depict the cottage accurately, but I did not take in any attractions. I previously lived in the area and wanted to be come back to enjoy friends and family still in the area.Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

We had a very nice time. The property is nice and secluded. The views of the lake and sunsets are amazing! It's a cozy cottage. Plan well and buy what you will need because stores aren't close.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers.

Truly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. We were in the area for a funeral and the cottage was the welcome oasis that we needed. We had all of our meals there and the restful setting and the well appointed furnishings made me feel at home away from home. Sure beats any of the motels in the area. Would do it again in a minute, but for a longer period of time. Thanks, for everything. JoAnn/NCRecommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

After ten days of travel and family and friends we arrived at Butterfield Cottage needing some down time. Wow, it was so great to sit and read and watch the waves come off the lake and just take it easy for a while. The cottage has all you need including some beautiful updates - beautiful floors and lots of windows, newish appliances, wonderful tile, sinks, and faucets - someone does some remodeling for a living. One item we couldn't find - how about a vegetable steamer? Anyway, we plan to return around Christmas, we'll see how the winter goes at the cottage.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

If you're looking for peace and tranqility this is the place for a vacation. What a blessing to be able to sit at the breakfast table looking out over Lake Ontario. Whether the lake was covered with whitecaps or as tranquil as a farm pond it was a shear delight. The cottage is just a great place to unwind and let the worries of the world pass you by. Thanks, Lori, for providing such a wonderful place for our use.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers.

I was taken back when I entered Butterfield Cottage - I never imagined it would be that nice! The cottage is beautifully decorated with outstanding views of the lake, ships in the distance and sunsets to take your breath away. Even my dog was relaxed - he felt right at home and loved to sit on the porch and watch the waves. Honestly, Buddy always gets nervous and scared when we take him on vacation - but not this time - he relaxed right along with us. If you're not staying at Butterfield Cottage, you're missing the boat!Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

The cottage was larger than the pictures had led us to believe. The main room was airy and cool, even on 90 degree days. We ate breakfast every morning on the deck to enjoy the amazing view of the lake and spent evenings star gazing and watching for ships in the distance. It was a quiet, private setting with all the amenities of home - just none of the noise and a much better view.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.
