We had a college reunion group of 12 stay at the house for the weekend and we enjoyed the location and amenities. The only glitches were that there really aren't 3 1/2 baths, only 2 full baths and 2 half baths. This really slowed things down in the morning with the second full bath in the basement as a part of the suite down there where you have to tramp through the bedroom to get to it. Plus, two of the bedrooms upstairs only had single beds in them, which wasn't much of a problem with the large finished basement because we brought a couple inflatable mattresses with us. Overall, a good experience and a good value for an off-season rental.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

We have a family of 10 adults and this very clean home was perfect for us. The huge finished basement was the video gaming center (and Tiger baseball HQ) complete with a master bedroom and an additional half bath. The sun porch was large enough to seat all ten of us for meals. The eat in kitchen and the back deck were great for early morning coffee gatherings. In addition, there is a living room with couch and the huge sun porch has a couch. One afternoon, we carted out the tables and ate al fresco in the backyard. The kitchen with nice wooden floor has all the amenities you need plus a crockpot and the all important dishwasher and lots of cubbyholes to put stuff in. 2 bedrooms on the main floor separated by a full bath and 3 small bedrooms upstairs with one window AC for any night that didn't get below 72 degrees. All beds very comfortable. 2 box fans. Location was wonderful. 2 blocks to the river and a market. 3 blocks to the chain ferry. 6 blocks to restaurants, shops, bars. And they accepted our well behaved schnauzer who thoroughly enjoyed the week with us. We brought our own bikes and loved using them. The rental agency was very accommodating and helpful for information about the area! We've stayed in South Haven, Charlevoix, Caseville as well as beyond Michigan, but this was our favorite.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway.

The house is very clean and accomodates a large group very easily. The location is fantastic. We walked almost everywhere. The kitchen is stocked well and there is a window air conditioning unit upstairs now. The only thing the house was missing for us was a blender. You should definetely consider staying here if you are going to Saugatuck!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

Great Overall Experience...for Most of Us

I would agree with everything the previous reviewer stated. Our only complaint, which was not necessarily minor, was that the upper floor is a converted attic and therefore a good 10-15 degrees hotter than the main floor. Three of the six bedrooms are located up there, so this is a problem. Only one member of our party was willing to sleep up there, and that person woke up sweating and uncomfortable most nights. The weather was beautiful while we were there (mid-June), so I can't imagine what it's like up there in late July/early August. The air works beautifully in the rest of the house but window units are needed to compensate upstairs. We did everything possible to cool it off up there (open windows at night and close them during the day, put fans up there, etc.), but it just wasn't enough. Otherwise, we had a great experience and the location is indeed perfect.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, families with young children.

Location is the key! Once parked, we never had to get back in the car. The home is perfect for a large group of people. The kitchen is spacious so there’s plenty of room to cook & store as much stuff as you bring. The deck is great for hanging out as well as it provides some privacy; the backyard is adorable. We walked everywhere. The home is conveniently located in walking distance to everything but just far enough away to have peace & quiet. This quaint home is great for a big family with or without kids….or a large group of girls celebrating a special b-day…..which is what we did! I highly recommend this home. Thanks!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
