  We stayed at this house with 6 adults and 2 children. It worked out very well for group activities, games, dining, etc. Plenty of room for us to be together OR to be apart with the separate den/TV room. The owner was easy to work with and everything went as planned. We would recommend this house particularly for family groups. Just Perfect.

  Enjoyed a long New Year's weekend at this Black Butte home. We have spent New Year's weekend in Black Butte for several years - this was our first stay at this home. The owner was very easy to work with - great communication. The home works well for two families - can hold three but would be crowded. We had 4 adults & 4 kids (ages 9-13). One bedroom on the main floor has 3 bunk beds (only one of the top bunks had a restraint/bar/whatever you call that thing that keeps kids from falling out of them) - so we used pillows on the other to make sure the kids wouldn't roll out. There was a full bath next to this bedroom. Upstairs there is a King suite with full bath and a king bedroom & queen bedroom that share a small full bath. The beds were very comfortable! Nice family room with wood burning fireplace and high ceilings. Large dining table that sat 8-10. Small kitchen but well stocked with pots/pans/dishes/spices/etc. Gas BBQ on the deck is nice. Also downstairs there is a den with a large flat screen TV. The sofa pulls out to a bed if needed. Home has a nice location right next to the fire station and not very far from the Glaze Meadow pool complex. Main wish - especially in the Winter - is a hot tub on the deck - but this was about the only drawback.

  Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.

  We had an excellent time in this wonderful house! The house was large, spacious and immaculately clean. There is a lot of living space--a huge sunken living room, raised dining room and a separate den off the kitchen with a huge tv. The bedrooms were big (three upstairs and a bunkroom on the first floor) and the beds were comfortable with lots of warm covers! The only room that isn't huge is the kitchen, but because it opens to the den and the dining room, that didn't really matter. The updated oven and dishwasher made it convenient to use. The location is great too, tucked back from the road so you can hardly seen anything but trees, but it is only a 5 minute walk from the pool/hot tub/playground area called Glaze Meadows. The owners were great--prompt with responses and very easy to deal with. I would recommend this house to anyone!

  We have been coming to Black Butte for 30 years and have stayed in numerous homes. Our family has decided this hourse is BEST!!! Their title is so fitting... location, location, location! After coming all these years we believe there is no better location to have a house on the ranch. We especially loved that it is walking distance to the Glaze Meadow Rec Center. There were so many reasons we liked this house best....the den with the large TV and game table separate from the living room, internet access, hammock on the deck, fantastic barbecue, friendly owners that are pleasant to talk with and helpful with answering questions, the living room and dining room accomodated our family well with space sufficient to feel comfortable, and I could go on and on. I must say I hesitated writing a review and sharing my new found vacation gold mine with others. I was so appreciative that the owners were willing to share their family home with us that I was compelled to share our family experience with you. Just don't request the week I hope to get next year. :-)

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

  We loved the layout and found the house to be very comfortable. We also really appreciated the family feel of the house - we liked seeing your family photos on the walls, and the books on Ireland in the hall. It was clear that you have put a lot of energy into making it a great getaway, and one that we are hoping to enjoy again in the future! In fact, I have for years been "bugging" my husband to buy a home or a share in Black Butte. (His parent's used to own a home there, but sold it.) Your home proved his point that we could find a nice home to rent, without needing to own ourselves. A mixed blessing for me!
