Family Vacation at Huckleberry Hideaway
Family Vacation at Huckleberry Hideaway

Our time at Huckleberry Hideaway was amazing! Kirsten and Jackie at Big Sky Vacation Rentals did an excellent job with the recommendation and with meeting any additional needs we had while in Big Sky. These two went above and beyond to make our experience the best it could be! The location of the home was absolutely perfect! The slopes were an easy 15 minute drive and we loved being in the Meadow Village area with the quaint shops and restaurants very close by, but a bit away from the touristy hustle and bustle of slopeside properties. The house was perfect for our family. The lot was huge and is incredible for sledding! The views from the family room and kitchen are over the top! We watched Elk roam the yard almost daily. The home is well appointed, very cozy and has lots of great space for family gathering. The home is even better than the photos show. I would have given the home an "Excellent" rating except there are just a few things I took into consideration for a five star rating. The television in the main family room is too small and it not in the best location for family movies and football game day watching. The wooden chairs in the family room are a bit uncomfortable. Some of the appliances in the home need updating, (mainly the washer and dryer,) The bathrooms could use some updating as well. If you are not a fan of outdoor jacuzzi tubs, it is important to know that the inside tub does not have jets. In addition, the showers in the Master and the upstairs bathroom are very small and outdated. (They appear to be shower inserts.) Overall, our time at Huckleberry Hideaway was awesome and there are so many great things about this home!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children.

I stayed for a week with family at Huckleberry Hideaway this past Christmas. We had such a great time. My siblings are still thanking me! The house is large, but still cozy, and allows couples to have their own private areas. Only one of the four bedrooms doesn't have an ensuite bath (it's across the hall). The view is pretty stunning from the living room and a couple of the bedrooms and makes for a very "Montana-like" feel all around. Activity-wise, we were pretty happy to stay in a lot of the time. We were able to sled (or snowshoe) right out the back door (and right on top of the fresh elk tracks). We skied one day and didn't mind being off the mountain (lots more space!). We put up and decorated our own tree and (with lots of snow falling) it made for a quintessential white Christmas. The folks at the rental company (Kirsten and caretaker Jackie) could not have been nicer. Plus, the owners went out of their way without being asked. It can be a little scary booking something like this online, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this house or this rental company to others.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

I have been lucky enough to stay at this beautiful home twice - July 2010 and February 2011. The first time was with my husband and it was the perfect romantic getaway. The summer hiking and fly fishing are incredible and this home is close to it all while also being totally private. The views of lone peak from every bedroom can't be beat. My second stay was in the winter with a group of 8. We all slept very comfortably in this spacious home. It's just a short drive to the mountain for amazing downhill and cross country skiing. We loved coming back to this home and relaxing in the hot tub and by the fire. The basement game room was also a hit with our group. The house was clean, beautifully decorated and well maintained. It's the perfect mountain retreat and we can't wait to go back!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

This beautiful home put our vacation over the top! After a long day of skiing at near by Big Sky Resort, you can jump in the hot tub and enjoy the beautiful sunset over the mountain top. The views are spectacular and will provide you with memories for a lifetime! After the hot tub you can enjoy the true character of the log style home from any room your in. The views from the inside are just as good as the outside and the fire place is just icing on the cake! Conveniently located near shopping areas and eateries, you could not ask for a better location. We had an awesome vacation here and cannot wait to stay in this house again. Highly recommended!Recommended for: People with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.

Went with a group of 6 in February last year. Only 10 minute drive to Big Sky with amazing views of the mountain from the back deck, family room, second level bedroom annnnd the hot tub! Gorgeous kitchen to prepare meals in every night and great family room with vaulted ceilings and beauiful fire place to settle down in front of at night for a drink and some cards. Game room downstairs is perfect if you don't want to fight the snow in the winter. I cannot say enough good things about this home. It was a dream vacation and we cannot wait to go back. Also only an hour drive to Yellowstone!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with young children.
