  Stayed in this apartment with my husband for 6 nights. Loved the location. The apartment is spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The only hiccup was the delay in returning the damage deposit. Would not hesitate to recommend to other travellers!

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

  Hemos pasado unos días increíbles en Madrid. El apartamento está muy bien ubicado a 3 cuadras de la Puerta del Sol. La cocina y el baño son modernos. Muy cómodo! Frente al apartamento hay un supermercado. Todo estuvo perfecto! Sol muy amable nos asesoró sobre distintos temas antes del viaje. Valieron la pena los 4 pisos por escalera! Si volvemos a Madrid, volveremos al apartamento.

  We spent 5 beautiful days from the 13th to the 17th in Madrid. Sol has already expected us with the arrival, the processing is uncomplicated. The house (Santa Ana 5persons) is very clean top, well furnished, and has a well fitted out kitchen. The position is great, one can reach a lot on foot. With radiant blue sky we had a mad short trip. Barbara "Wir verbrachten 5 wunderschöne Tage vom 13.-17 in Madrid. Sol hat uns bei der Ankunft schon erwartet, die Abwicklung ist unkompliziert. Die Wohnung (Santa Ana 5Personen) ist top, gut eingerichtet, sehr sauber und hat eine gut ausgestattete Küche. Die Lage ist super, man kann vieles zu Fuß erreichen . Mit strahlend blauem Himmel hatten wir einen tollen Kurzurlaub. Barbara"

  Our family stayed here - 2 adults, plus 2 very late teens kids (including my daughter who was finishing her study abroad in Madrid). You can not beat the location of this apartment. I will admit that after a day of sightseeing, the stairs were a bit of a bummer, but once you are upstairs, the apartment is so clean, bright, quiet and restful that it makes the climb worth it. The windows are super insulated against the noise. We cooked (groceries from El Corte Ingles at Sol, about 3 blocks away) and the facilities were fine for a family of 3. Also enjoyed the dishwasher, and the washing machine. The apartment has a small balcony and I enjoyed standing out there surveying the street scene below. The neighborhood is very safe. No qualms at all about being out at any time of night, no matter how late. Probably the best part of the apartment was the personal attention from the rental agent Sol. She answered my many emails as we were preparing for our trip and gave me so much information about flamenco, bull fights, etc. She tolerated my attempts at written Spanish - but of course she speaks English excellently - and conveniently met my daughter there, after communicating with her directly since they both were in Madrid - and that was so wonderful for us because then we could go directly to the apartment from the airport. If you have a teen who wants pizza, we can recommend the pizza place directly across the street. Cafe del Principe on the corner has some good fixed price specials on both drinks and meals that are worth checking out, especially if you are at the end of a long sightseeing day and don't feel like going too far. The apt. is super close to both the Sol and the Sevilla stops on the Metro, so you can use the one that suits where you are going the best. We also walked several times to Atocha train station to take the Cercanias and the AVE trains. The apartment is so well located you can walk to almost everything you might want to do: Prado, Reina Sofia, Plaza Mayor, Plaza de Espana, Gran Via, Palacio Real, Retiro. We did take the Metro to get to Las Ventas for the bullfight and to Bernabeu for the stadium tour. Would certainly use this apt again if we ever return to Madrid.

  I agree with the other reviews and the apartment is exactly as depicted in the photos. Very clean and nice ammenities and we had everything we needed. We also arrived early in the day and Sol accomodated our need to drop off our luggage and had the apartment ready early. Sol answered all of our questions and was available 24/7 if needs arose. The location cannot be beat. It was lively on all nights on the street but not loud. We felt very safe during our stay. Aside from Sol being literally steps away from the door, there are a few quaint small alley type streets neighboring the apartment where locals congrated each night for late night tapas, creating an excellent atmosphere in the evenings. We could walk to most places we visited; otherwise the taxi rides were short. When we return to Madrid, this is where we will stay!

  We had a wonderful time in this flat with our two small kids- we'd been traveling for two months and this was a high point for us. The flat is completely modern and totally clean (horay!). The flat is up 90 chairs which keeps us fit but also gets you away from the sound on the street! The view is interesting. A one minute walk gets you to the Plaza Santa Ana which has kids park and places to drink wine outside while you watch kids play. Another two minutes to the main square (sol) and 5 minutes the Prado. great kitchen, great shower.... great, great, great!

  Logement très agréable et chaleureux, c'est un havre de paix dans un quartier populaire. Le quartier est super, à la fois populaire et très central, proche des lieux à visiter. Tout d'abord séduits par les photos sur le site, ensuite comblé de notre séjour. Il faut marcher beaucoup pour voir et apprécier tout ce que la Ville peut offrir, portez de bonnes chaussures! Nous étions toujours fiers en fin de journée soirée de retrouver notre petit nid douillet pour s'y reposer! C'était un peu comme être chez-soi! Merci à nos hôtes qui nous ont permis assurément de profiter davantage de notre séjour! Nous conseillons ce logement à tous les amoureux de Madrid.

  This was a great apartment for our family (Mum, Dad, two daughters 17 & 20). It's in a great position, five minutes walk from Puerto del Sol, with many shops and restaurants very close by. We were in Madrid for five days and didn't need to use the metro at all from this apartment, as everything (museums, galleries, shopping, etc.) was in easy walking distance. The apartment itself is very modern and comfortable with everything we needed. The building has no lift, so hauling suitcases up 90+ stairs took some effort, but obviously you'd only need to do this once. I'd be happy to recommend this apartment to anyone.

  My family (myself, wife and two sons (ages 11 and 13)) stayed in this apartment from December 24th through December 31st. Overall, the apartment itself was compact but large enough for the four of us and well laid out. It is in an excellent location, truly within walking distance to all of the sites in Madrid that a tourist would wish to see. However, our experience was somewhat mixed because of the good and bad points below. On balance, we would probably look for a quieter place if we were to return to Madrid. THE GOOD - The location really is outstanding. The area was central to everything, near two metro stops and many restaurants, and very safe; - Sol, the property manager, was extremely responsive, professional and easy to deal with in making the reservation, checking us in and responding to issues that arose (leaking shower and broken microwave); - The WIFI was a good amenity and worked well; - The apartment was very clean and, although compact (like most European apartments), the four of us felt like we had enough room. It was also nice to have balconies onto the street. THE BAD - The apartment is extremely NOISY! I can't state this strongly enough. The apartment is located in an area filled with bars and restaurants (there is a bar directly across the street from the main bedroom) that stay open very late and there are loud people on the street at all hours. It was generally impossible for us to sleep before 2:00 a.m. (this is with the white noise machine we brought) and we were woken up by people singing outside the bar at 5:00 a.m. one morning. There is also a dog two floors down that barked some nights and early some mornings. To be fair, it was not as bad in the interior second bedroom where the kids were (except when there were children playing in the courtyard below). Using the earplugs we finally bought helped somewhat. - The main bedroom does not have a real mattress, but rather a few inch thick foam pad. While this was not terribly uncomfortable, you definately knew you were not on a mattress. - The microwave and the heater in the main room were broken. With respect to the heater, fortunately we had great weather so this was not much of an issue. If it had been colder, this could have been a problem (there is an a/c unit that also provided heat, but I'm not sure it could compensate for the absence of the main heater). On balance, mainly because of the noise, I would not recommend this apartment to a friend.

  Our family of 4 absolutely loved our stay at this wonderful apartment (2 adults, 2 teenagers). As others have said, the apartment was just as described. (I think the place is nicer than the photos show). The location is perfect. We did not use the metro as we were able to walk everywhere. The guide books in the apartment were quite nice to have. Communication with owner was fast and easy. Sol was very helpful on arrival. Do not hesitate. Great place. If you are a very light sleeper either sleep in the back bedroom, very quiet, or use ear plugs as there is some noise from the street late into the night. (We had a car and we were able to park in the underground garage on Santa Ana Square. It was convenient but expensive -- best not to have a car -- you won't need it in Madrid)
