This home was an excellent choice for our family reunion. Most of the family is local to the area of this home but some of us live away. We needed a place that could both support a medium to large function and house the out of towners. We had such a good time because of all the opportunities this home has. We could spread out. Some of us stayed outside enjoying the gorgeous yard, outside sitting and water. The paddle boat was a big hit with our group. Some of us stayed inside just sitting, talking and enjoying the view from the gorgeous windows. Some of us never left the pool table and all the fun of the lower level. And some of us were in and out, up and down and all over. This house just punches through the message You are here - now enjoy. When the party wasn't happening and the yard was quiet the bird watching was AMAZING. The owner was excellent to work with. I needed extra communications and she was so responsive and accommodating. I love this place. Best vacation ever.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Wow. What an AWESOME experience we had!! This was our 20th "Cottage Week" for my husband's family; the first 14 years were at my family cottage in Manitowish Waters. Both cottages are awesome, but Ellen's place suits our large family SO MUCH BETTER!! There was plenty of room for everybody to gather round a table, a firepit, the beach and also plenty of options if they needed a little private downtime. Wait til you see and work in the main floor kitchen!! I want that stove/griddle!! Ding Dang!! Speaking of the kitchen, when it says fully-furnished, it means just that....fully-furnished!! You will want for nothing. The enclosed front porch with the huge table was perfect for late-night card parties and also meal times. The kids had plenty of space for their wiffle-ball tournament, "washer game", etc., and the laughter & games played around the firepit will be "forever memories" for all of us! Ellen, you are by far the most accomodating owner of any vrbo we've stayed at! Thank you for allowing us to stay at your fantastic home. It is truly a northwoods treasure!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

A group of 16 rented this cabin for a get together/surprise party over the winter. This cabin is perfect for large OR small groups and was a very central location for our friends in Wisconsin and Minnesota. There's was tons of snow and tons of room! The cabin is so cozy with its wood furnace and the best part of our whole experience was the owner, Ellen. She was extremely accommodating to our group's needs and made our overall experience a great one! I would highly recommend and I can not wait to come back!Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My family and I were looking for a winter retreat that we could take each year with some close family and friends. The kids we took ranged in age from 2yrs up to 12yrs. All of the kids still (almost a year later) talk about the vacation in the winter to the "big house". They all say it was their favorite! The description is right on - if you were to dream of a winter getaway, with beautiful snow covered trees, spectacular views, the smell of wood burning, a room big enough to fit all of the people you love into to play games, music, etc., this is the place! We were all beyond impressed...we truly created memories that we will talk about for a lifetime!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Thank you so very much for your amazing review! We really appreciate your kind words. What's even more touching is your description of the memories your family experienced. Our heart's desire is for you & everyone who enters our home to experience what you found last January. God Bless you & your family & friends.

We spent the New Year's hoiliday here with 5 other friend and had a wonderful time. The house is jaw-dropping to say the least. It's on a beautiful (at the time frozen over) lake with great views from the luxurious northwoods style living room of the house. It me all of our needs at a great low price. The owners Ellen and Scott were also very accomidating. Would recomend this place to my friends and family. 5 STARS!Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This beautiful property was perfect for my family of 5. We rented the lower level the past 2 summers and will do the same this year. The location is peaceful and plentiful, the property beautiful and well-maintained and the owner so gracious and accomodating. My family and I enjoyed the waterfront view, the swimming off the dock, beautiful canoe and kayak trips on a serene and very large body of water. The kitchen allowed us the freedom that we enjoy on vacations and we also grilled a bit. It is hard to not dine out front, right in front of the water. What a fun-filled and relaxing place!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
